Simms-Alcine ; Darchinyan-Donaire
lands at Foxwoods

Sources have told 15rounds.com
that a champinship doubleheader that will feature
WBA Super Welterweight Travis Simms taking on
mandatory challanger Joachim Alcine and IBF
Flyweight title holder Vic Darchinyan battling
Nonito Donaire will take place on July 7th at
the Foxwoods resort in Connecticut and will
be broadcasted on SHOWTIME.
Simms, 25-0 with nineteen
knockouts will be fighting in his backyard as
he is from nearby Norwalk and is coming off
his title winning effort this past January when
he stopped Jose Antonio Rivera in Hollywood,
Florida.
Alcine, like Simms is undefeated
with a record of 28-0 with eighteen knockouts.
The Montreal native is coming off a Disqualification
win last October over Jose Gomez in Montreal.
Darchinyan of Austrailia
with bring a record in of 28-0 with 22 knockouts
and will be attempting to make the seventh defense
of his crown.
In his last bout, Darchinyan
stopped Victor Burgos in the final round and
Burgos suffered a head injury and was in a coma
for a few days after the bout.
Donaire will be making his
first attempt at a world title with a record
of 17-1 with ten knockouts. The san Leandro,
California native is coming off a first round
knockout over Kevin Hudgins this past Saturday.
