Alvarado stops Rosales in
seven

Mike Alvarado scored an impressive
seventh round stoppage over Michel Rosales in
a scheduled ten round Jr. Welterweight bout
at the Iseleta casino & Resort in Albuquerque,
New Mexico.
Alvarado was dominant throughout
until he turned up the heat with power punches
at the end of round six. In round seven, Alvarado
landed a barrage of punches that Rosales in
trouble until referee Rocky Burke stopped the
bout at 1:28 of round seven.
Alvarado of Denver is now
closing in on a significant bout with a record
of 21-0 with fourteen knockouts. Rosales is
now 20-2
Ray Sanchez III rebounded
from his stoppage loss to Julio Cesar Chavez
Jr. with a hard fought majority decision over
trial horse Patrick Thompson.
This was a tough inside fight
with both fighters working hard with each having
some solid moments throughout the fight.
Sanchez, 154 lbs of Albuquerque,
New Mexico won by scores of 97-93, 96-04 and
95-95 to raise his record to 21-2. Thompson,
154 lbs is 14-13-1.
