For
Immediate Release
This is a huge weekend
for Top Rank:
Boxing's most exciting champion,
Manny Pacquiao, will be at an open workout at
'Little Philippines' Lake Street Park, 227 North
Lake Street, Los Angeles, on Saturday at noontime.
Manny will shake out, then do interviews about
his upcoming battle with lightweight champ David
Diaz.
On fight night NHL Chicago
Blackhawks head coach Dennis Sevard will give
final instructions to David Diaz in the locker
room, then walk him to the ring to battle with
Pacquiao on June 28 at Mandalay Bay. Sevard is
in the NHL Hall of Fame and is a huge Diaz fan....
Pacquiao's chief trainer Freddie
Roach: "Diaz says he's coming after Manny
with power shots. Manny will fire right power
shots right back at him."
Heavyweight Hasim Rahman, at
a press conference yesterday in Los Angeles, said
he will "knock out and destroy" James
Toney in their 'Last Chance' battle at Pechanga
Resort & Casino in Temecula, Ca. on July 16.
Rahman, training in Phoenix, said "...I will
attack early, knock him out and then move on to
a bigger fight. After this fight, Toney should
retire and give it up."
Top Rank matchmaker Brad Goodman
said the fight between Jesus Soto-Karass and David
Estrada is an 'all-out war' on July 25 at the
Hard Rock in Las Vegas on the eve of the mega
fight between Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito
at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Oxnard's Brandon
Rios, who dug in and fought bravely and won his
bout on Top Rank's Latin Fury 4 in Aquascaliente,
Mexico, will open on the Telefutura telecast.
