NEWARK, NEW JERSEY (October 7, 2011)—Vincent Ponte’s Gulfstream Promotions is proud to announce the signing of Middleweight contender Ossie “The Ghanaian Gladiator” Duran to a promotional contract.

Duran, of Paterson, New Jersey is originally from Accra, Ghana and sports an impressive mark of 26-8-2 with ten knockouts.

Duran, who has fought some of the Jr. Middleweights and Jr. Middleweights in the world will be involved in a high profile bout on October 28th in Atlantic City when he takes on undefeated prospect Brandon Gonzales in a bout that will be telecasted live all of the country as part of the popular SHOWTIME boxing series SHO BOX: The New Generation.

The show is promoted by Goossen Tutor Promotions.

The thirty-four year old has won many titles that include the Ghanaian Lightweight title; WBF Pan-European Welterweight title; British Commonwealth Welterweight Title; British Commonwealth Jr. Middleweight title and in his last bout Duran won the USBA Atlantic Coast Middleweight title with a tenth round stoppage over Latif Mundy on June 22nd in Newark, New Jersey.

Duran has fought the likes of Jamie Moore (20-1; Duran stopped Moore three rounds); Bradley Pryce (34-4); James Kirkland (18-0); Eromesele Alber (21-2; Duran and Albert fought to a draw); Former world title challenger David Lopez; Fernando Guerrero (15-0);
