Knocking Out the Devil

Warriors step into the ring or the cage to do battle, some fight internal battles, few fight both and live to tell their story. On that rare occurrence, that story needs to be told.

Jason “Freebird” Freeman is a husband, father, professional athlete and also the grandson of one Charles Manson and this is his life story. The book was penned by Dannon Svab, owner of the Ohio-based Explosive Fight Promotions organization that has promoted many “Caged Madness” events.

“Jason’s story is one of life, survival and dedication, in today’s world many of our role models are distorted….Jason’s story can make a difference in people’s lives.” said Svab.

An introduction to the book:

““Uh yeah, I got a kid somewhere.” Charles Manson said in a 1981 interview on, Tomorrow with Tom Snyder. The child he was referring to was Jason Freeman’s natural father, Charles Manson Jr. He later became known as Jay White, but it was more like a cover. Hiding the heinous birthday name his own father tarnished.

Manson was the family’s real surname.

Freeman’s natural father missed Jason growing up. Writing an occasional letter was his only involvement. Never talking face-to-face, Freeman didn’t understand what was going on with his natural father.

Freeman, later would learn more and begin to understand the impact of Charles Manson directing the most horrific Hollywood murders ever. His natural father was unable to withstand the shadow of Charles Manson that ultimately claimed his life. Freeman knew part of that same intense shadow hovered over him, but he decided to fight back.”
