ESPN Classic will remember the 65th anniversary of one of the most controversial decisions in boxing, reairing then-Heavyweight Champion Joe Louis’ decision over Joe Walcott on Wednesday Dec., 5 starting at 2 a.m. ET. Walcott a 10-1 underdog in a fight that took place Dec. 5, 1947, at Madison Square Garden knocked Louis down twice and looked like the winner after 15-rounds only to lose a split decision allowing Louis to keep his title.

This bout is part of a compilation of Joe Louis’ greatest bouts and can be seen throughout the day on ESPN Classic.
