Currently sitting on two professional wins from two starts, Wishaw’s Mark Parvin has his third professional fight at Ravenscraig Sports Facility on Friday March 8th and is looking forward to returning to the venue were he had one of his greatest amateur success “I am very excited about fighting at Ravenscraig as a Professional. I am no stranger to the venue and I fought there loads as an Amateur and won the UK Youth championship’s there a few years ago. Its a great venue and the sort of venue when full that really is cauldron of noise.

While he carves up a career as a Professional Boxer, the 18 year old also works as a Butcher, but recently has shown his commitment to his boxing by opening up a gym with his father (and trainer) Jack “My Dad and I are looking to make waves in the Boxing game, we have recently set up our own Gym and have called it ‘Fusion’. We will use it for my training but its early days yet”

“All I am focusing on is March 8th, we haven’t got a sparring partner sorted yet but were working on that, but my strength and conditioning is coming along nicely.

After turning over to the pro game in 2013, the Welterweight has enjoyed back to back points wins over Sid Razack and Johnny Greaves. Making an honest assessment of his start in the game, he admits his excitement for the upcoming year “I am happy with my start. I felt there was an improvement with how I boxed between the first bout with Sid Razack and then my second with Johnny Greaves. Both have there own style and I think I handled them well, and this was reflected in the referee’s scorecard

He adds “I am looking forward to a busy 2013, with hopefully loads of fights but all I am not over looking my first one on March 18th”
