Former IBF Featherweight champion Billy Dib scored a ten round majority decision over Mike Oliver at the Convention Center in Hartford Connecticut.
It did int start out well for Dib as he was docked points in round’s two and three for low blows by referee Michael Ortega.
At times the fight was exciting as they traded both in the center of the ring and on the ropes. Dib pushed the action while Oliver counter well in spurts. In the end it was the aggressiveness of Dib that was the prevailing factor.
Dib, 127 lbs of Sydney, Australia will now look to win back his title with a contractual rematch with champion Evgeny Fradovich with a record of 36-2. Oliver, 124 lbs of Hartford is now 25-4.
Mark Davis remained undefeated with a eight round unanimous decision over Robert Osiobe in a Lightweight bout.
Davis was a bit sharper with his punches and built up a working margin through the first five-plus rounds. Osiobe gained confidence after a cut opened up around the left eye of Davis and he began to come on just a bot but it was too little too late as Davis won by scores of 78-74, 78-74 and 77-75.
Davis 135 lbs of Cleveland, OH is now 17-0. Osiobe, 134 1/2 lbs of Las Vegas is now 14-6-4.
Emanuel DeJesus went the distance for the first time but remained perfect as he scored a four round unanimous decision over Rikardo Smith in a Welterweight bout.
DeJesus showed his terrific power as he floored Smith with a booming left hook. Smith was able to get up and finish the fight but was outclassed as DeJesus won by scores of 40-35, 39-36 and 39-36.
DeJesus of Puerto Rico is 5-0. Smith of Kissimmee, FL is now 6-4.
