According to Dan Rafael of espn.com, former IBF Jr. Middleweight champion Cornelius Bundrage will meet Joey Hernandez in an elimination bout on January 24th.

“The fight is all signed, sealed and delivered. Both guys signed their contracts,” Gomez said. “K9 really wants another title shot and Hernandez is a very hungry fighter, so I think it should be a good fight. It’s a very important fight for both guys.”

The bout will take place at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, Calif., as part of a “Golden Boy Live” card (Fox Sports 1), although Gomez said it has not yet determined if the bout would be part of the telecast.

“That purse bid was crazy, but this fight is more for the opportunity than the purse,” Bundrage said at the time. “But I will beat Joey Hernandez and then go get my belt back.”
