Gilberto Ramirez scored a 5th round stoppage over former world title challenger Giovanni Lorenzo in a scheduled 10-round bout at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
Ramirez dominated the bout and had Lorenzo in trouble in round three and scored a knockdown off of a furious flurry. Ramirez was dropped twice in the 5th. First from a body shot then from a long left and Lorenzo’s corner stopped the fight at 2:47 of round five.
Ramirez, 168 lbs is now 28-0 with 22 stoppages. Lorenzo, 167 lbs is now 35-7.
Super Middleweight prospect Jesse Hart scored an 8-round unanimous decision over Samuel Clarkson.
Hart scored a knockdown in round four in a fight that had some low blows and hitting behind the head.
Hart, 168 lbs of Philadelphia won by scores of 80-70 on all cards and is now 13-0. Clarkson, 167 lbs is 10-3.
Gary Salazar scored a 4 round unanimous decision over Jair Quintero in a Super Featherweight bout.
Salazar, 128 lbs is now 3-0. Quintero, 128 lbs is now 0-2-1.
