NEW YORK, (July 15, 2014) Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing has announced three outstanding undercard battles for this week’s ESPN FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS/”ROCKIN FIGHTS 14″ at The Paramount in Huntington, New York.

In separate bouts Long Island fan favorites ANTHONY KARPERIS and WENDY “The Haitian Hurricane” TOUSSAINT return to The Paramount along with a sensational six round super middleweight clash between Union City, New Jersey’s JASON “Monstruo” ESCALERA and undefeated Medford, New York’s NAIM TERBUNJA.

Said DeGuardia, “For Karperis and Toussaint these are both strong step ups in their young careers and the super middleweight fight pits two prospects with the winner looking at a much bigger fight.”

Sporting a record of 6-2-0 (3KO’s), Hicksville’s Karperis will look to stay in the winners’ column, having been dominant in his last two bouts, taking on ARIEL DURAN, 7-6-1 (4KO’s) in a scheduled six round junior welterweight bout.

After stopping Michael Doyle in the fifth round on November 22, Karperis pitched a six round shutout of Calvin Smith on February 14, both fights taking place at The Paramount where he has made six starts.

Originally from the Dominican Republic, the 27-year-old Duran has never been stopped and is well known on the East Coast for his hard fought battles with numerous rising prospects.

Undefeated with a record of 4-0, junior middleweight Toussaint, now residing in Huntington, has looked very sharp in his first four professional bouts, all of which have taken place at The Paramount.

This Friday night, Toussaint will face the toughest fight of his young career, challenging fellow undefeated prospect COURTNEY PENNINGTON of Brooklyn, New York.

April 24 at The Paramount.

Heavy-handed Escalera, 13-2-1 (12KO’s), will also be looking to return to the win column, having dropped a decision to Lekan Byfield on April 24 at The Paramount.

Swedish native Terbunja, having compiled a pro record of 7-0-0, will be fighting for the second time in the United States, recently taking a four round decision from Maurice Amaro on March 22 in Queens, New York.
