Nutley, NJ (July 21, 2014)–This Friday night at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York, undefeated Welterweight Cecil McCalla will look to transition his name from prospect to contender when he takes on Oscar Godoy as part of the 200th Episode of SHO BOX: The New Generation.

The show, which is promoted by GH3 Promotions and Greg Cohen Promotions is sponsered by Modell’s Sporting Goods and will be broadcast beginning at 10 PM ET.

McCalla of Randallstown, Maryland has a record of 18-0 with six knockouts.

He had a 92-fight amateur career and turned professional in 2008..

When asked about his preparation, the 29-year old McCalla said, “I feel good and confident. I have been in camp since mid May and divided it between Las Vegas and Miami.”

In Godoy, he will be facing a fighter who has been tested as he has a record of 13-2 with six knockouts.

“Godoy has some skill. He is tough but it is nothing that I haven’t seen before and it should not be a problem.”

McCalla is looking forward to being showcased on national television which he believes will facilitate his career to the next level.

“I am excited about being on television. This will be my first of my career. I was helping out in the corner with (Former IBF Jr. Lightweight champion) Argenis Mendez a couple weeks ago, so I got to see some of what goes into a higher level fight so I know that experience will help me as I progress.”

“I know that being on SHO BOX is always a good thing and many fighters have gone on to fight and win world titles so hopefully that will be me in the next year.”

“I am excited to get in there and will work hard and plan on putting on a good show”, finished McCalla.
