The paradise Island of Sint Maarten in the Caribbean will be abuzz when rising middleweight and Nuvo TV’s “Knockout” champion Denis “Mommas Boy” Douglin (17-3, 10KOs) returns to the L.B. Scott Sports Auditorium in Philipsburg on Saturday night August 2nd to face hard hitting Eduardo Mercedes (25-11, 21KOs) in the ten round main event of the card promoted by Bobby Ottley’s B.O.S.E Promotions.

Douglin captured the Nuvo title with a win over the former USBA champion Charles “Killa” Whitaker back in June. The opportunity gave him the chance to get to work with renowned trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. Now he will look to take what he learned from the father of the pound for pound champion Floyd Mayweather Jr and show the “new and improved” Denis Douglin when he faces Eduardo Mercedes. He must be wary though of Mercedes because he packs a lot of power, having won twenty-one of his twenty-five victories by way of knockout.

The action packed eight bout card will also have a long awaited ten round grudge match for the IBO female heavyweight world title bout as New York State heavyweight Champion Sonya “The Scholar” Lamonakis (9-1-2, 1KO) battles it out with five time world champion Carlette “The Truth” Ewell (15-7-1, 9KOs).

The undercard is filled with rising stars, which include the Burrell Brothers, who fight out of the famed Gleason’s Gym in New York. Dean “Bad News” Burrell (9-1, 7KOs) will swap punches with Willy Morillo (1-2) in a four round junior welterweight contest. His brother Scott “Bang Bang” Burrell (8-2, 6KOs) will face Saint Maarten’s own Alberto Rincon Paez (4-5, 1KO) in a six round junior welterweight contest.

Undefeated welterweight Anthony “Juice” Young (10-0, 5KOs) of Atlantic City, New Jersey looks for his eleventh straight victory as a professional when he tangles with Puerto Rico’s Eduardo Adorno (2-20-1, 1KO) in a six round welterweight contest.

Welterweight Sydney Maccov of New York City by way of Saint Maarten, who will battle it out over four rounds with Justin Gogulski (0-1) of the Netherlands Antilles.

Debuting junior welterweight Loydd Hinds will tangle with Aruba’s Ryan Brete (0-1) in a four round contest.

Rounding out the card will be a four round junior middleweight contest featuring Curacao’s Nezar Regales (2-0, 2Kos) against an opponent to be determined
