WBC Silver flyweight champion Raja Amasheh has proven big heart inside the ring numerous times. This Friday the 31-year-old also showed big heart for kids when she became one of the “Big Champions Supporting Small Champions” by visiting the children hospital in Saarbrücken (Germany) under the banner of “WBC World Boxing Cares”.

“It is important to show the kids that we care about them”, said Amasheh. “We have to be in the corner of those in need – especially the small ones who cannot help themselves. The team at the children hospital in Saarbrücken is doing a great job and I hope that we could help and support them a little bit by entertaining the kids and having a good time with them.”

Raja Amasheh immediately fell in love with four-year-old Rebecca who is suffering from bladder and kidney disease. “Rebecca reminded me of myself when I was a kid”, said Amasheh. “I told her that she is a fighter and will beat her disease. Health is the most important thing in life – especially when you have your whole life to live. I know that Rebecca will get through this difficult time. She’s a true champion!”

Rebecca and the other small patients enjoyed the visit and thankfully received some t-shirts, mini gloves and autographs from the world champion. Amasheh’s promoter Oliver Heib (DOG Event) had initiated the visit because he has been working closely with the hospital for years. With his construction company he helped renovating the building over the last ten years.

“Children are our future so we are happy to help them wherever we can”, says Heib. “Of course, we support the hospital and their team as well as the initiative ‘WBC Cares’. We are very fortunate to be in a position where we can give something back to the community.”
