(San Diego) – San Diego’s Bobby D. Presents in association with Zanfer Promotions of Tijuana are ready to present a historic night in “America’s Finest City” this Friday night at the new home for local professional boxing, the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Mission Valley. The main event will feature the first world title in San Diego in nearly ten years plus the first female world title fight in the city’s history when Tijuana’s Kenia Enriquez (12-0, 6KO) will face Ana “La Bronca” Arrazola (21-10-2, 13KO) of Mexico City for the vacant WBO flyweight title over ten rounds.
The more experienced Arrazola, a southpaw, has held the WBF title in the past and earlier this year challenged for the IBF title in Japan. The twenty-one year old Enriquez has the advantage in age which makes this a classic battle with everything on the line.
“Kenia only has twelve fights but we are more than confident that she is ready for this,” Bobby DePhilippis, president of Bobby D. Presents, stated. “She is a poised young lady inside and outside the ring. This has been an important year for her and what better way to end it but with a world title.”
In the semi-main event, local favorite Prince “Tiger” Smalls (5-0-1) will put his undefeated record on the line in his first six rounder as a pro when he faces Tijuana tough guy Jose Iñiguez (7-18, 1KO) while “The African Mexican” Mulapi Enjani (1-0) of San Diego by way of Congo comes back to get the San Diego crowd on their feet when he faces Don Jose (0-3) of Stockton, CA, in a bantamweight eight rounder. To open up the fight card, Coachella, CA’s Alberto Fundora (2-0, 1KO) trades leather with Fernando “Pantera” Najera (1-4) of Tijuana.
