LOS ANGELES (Jan 19) – Former WBA Interim Super Lightweight World Champion Johan “El Terrible” Perez (20-2-1, 13 KOs) returned to the ring on Friday, Jan. 16 to win the vacant NABA Welterweight title at the Polideportivo José María Vargas in La Guaira, Venezuela. Perez defeated Humberto “Betillo” Gutierrez (29-6-2, 21 KOs) via a 12-round unanimous decision.

Alfonso Blanco (9-0, 4 KOs) was also featured on the card scoring a second round technical knockout win against Edinson Garcia (23-19, 12 KOs) in their scheduled six-round super welterweight bout. The Venezuela native maintains his undefeated status.
