Samuel Clarkson to Open ShoBox Telecast Against Jerry Odom

Bethlehem, Penn. (Friday, July 17, 2015) – Uprising Promotions super middleweight Samuel Clarkson (14-3, 8 KOs) will be making his promotional debut on Friday night, opening the Showtime telecast for ShoBox: The New Generation against once-beaten Jerry Odom (13-1, 12 KOs). The ShoBox broadcast will start at 10:00 PM EST.

“I’m going into this fight very confidently,” Clarkson stated. “I plan on showing my true skills, my ability, my speed and my technique. I feel that this fight is very even, and I will be able to showcase my skills and show the world what I’ve got.”

Clarkson enters Friday night as a winner in seven of his last eight bouts. His only loss during that timeframe was to undefeated super middleweight contender Jesse Hart, where he became just the third fighter to take Hart the distance. His greatest win as a professional came this past February when he defeated once-beaten Cedric Agnew in New York, with Agnew being just one fight removed from a world title bout with Sergey Kovalev.

Uprising Promotions will be returning to action with its next card on Friday, July 24th, bringing another loaded show to the Brooklyn Masonic Temple. Scheduled to headline the night is a featherweight scrap between two aggressive fighters, with Dominican Yenifel Vicente (26-3, 18 KOs) facing Manuel de los Reyes Herrera (21-16-1, 15 KOs) of Colombia. With many local prospects and rising stars, Ring of Fire will most certainly continue the tradition of Uprising Promotions bringing competitive and entertaining fights to boxing fans.

Ring of Fire will continue the initiative of Uprising Promotions to KO Autism, with proceeds from the night getting donated to The School For Language and Communication Development (SLCD) in Glen Cove, New York.
