Las Vegas, NV (November 19, 2015) World ranked and undefeated welterweight contender Konstantin “Talant” Ponomarev, (28-0, 13KOs), will battle Ramses Agaton, (17-2-3-, 9KOs) of Distrito Federal, Mexico in a scheduled ten round battle at The Chelsea inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas tomorrow, Friday, November 20.
Presented by Top Rank and Ural Boxing Promotions, the Ponomarev/Agosto clash headlines the off-TV undercard to the Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez — Gevorg Khatchikian super middleweight title clash which will be telecast live on TheMetroPCS Friday Night Knockout on truTV at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. Doors open at 4:00pm PT with the first bell at 4:30pm PT.
Fighting out of Miass, Russia, the 23-year-old Ponomarev is making his highly anticipated return to the ring following his career best victory, a dominant ten-round unanimous decision over Mikael Zewski on May 1, which was telecast on truTV from The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. He is trained by the renowned Abel Sanchez at The Summit High Altitude Training Facility in Big Bear Lake, California.
Ponomarev is currently world ranked #5 by the WBC, #8 by the IBF and # 14 by the WBO.
Most recently the 25-year-old Agosto is coming off a second round knockout of Jhonny Navarrete on November 14 in Mexico. He has lost only once in his last 13 bouts and will be making his debut in the United States.
