Brooklyn, N.Y. (Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015) – Ronson Frank’s Uprising Promotions officially announced today that it has signed super welterweight Villi Bello (3-1, 1 KO) to a promotional contract. Additionally, Uprising Promotions has solidified his return to the ring, which will occur this Saturday night at the Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City when he faces Alshamar Johnson (1-1, 1 KO).
“Villi is someone we have worked with before on two of our previous shows,” said Ronson Frank, President of Uprising Promotions. “He started out as a Muay Thai fighter but has now grown into a legitimate boxer. He has been polishing up his game, and he is always working hard at his craft. He is always ready to go and in top shape. We expect him to win this fight on Saturday and continue riding that momentum into 2016.”
Bello is coming off a highlight reel knockout in his last fight, where he finished Francisco Cruz just 17 seconds after the opening bell of a July contest. That bout marked his second consecutive appearance on a show presented by Uprising Promotions. His previous outing was also a success, scoring a shutout victory over Jonathan Jeter in May. The Dominican native began his fighting career in Muay Thai and mixed martial arts prior to making the conversion to boxing, and he has been on an upward trajectory since beginning that transition. Over his four-bout boxing career, his lone loss came at the hands of undefeated prospect Chris Galeano (10-0, 1 KO).
Standing opposite Bello this Saturday night will be Alshamar Johnson, who is coming off a second frame TKO of previously unbeaten Nick Valliere. Johnson was defeated in his pro debut by Hakim Bryant, who has not suffered a loss in five professional bouts.
Next up for Uprising Promotions is a December 12th date for Belgian super welterweight Sheldon Moore (15-3-1, 10 KOs), who will meet Islam Teffahi (17-5-2, 5 KOs) for the WBC International Silver and WBC Francophone titles at the Centre sportif des Ascenseurs in Le Roeulx, Belgium.
