Promoter Joe DeGuardia of Star Boxing is pleased to announce the signing of undefeated young prospect Anthony Laureano of East Hartford, CT. The 22 year old Laureano has a record of 3-0 2KO’s and competes in the Jr. Welterweight division and is a big ticket seller in the New England region.

Anthony Laureano was an outstanding amateur fighter who won the New England Golden Gloves in 2016 and was a 2 time Western New England champion. He was also a semi-finalist in the National Golden Gloves tournament in 2016. The undefeated pro says he was greatly influenced by Micky Ward and Arturo Gatti, his 2 favorite fighters.

Consistent with Joe DeGuardia’s renowned ability to find boxing prospects with unique ‘outside the ring’ qualities as well, Anthony Laureano fits the Star Boxing team. Laureano is a college graduate who used his boxing to gain a scholarship as a launch to a Criminal Justice education (in school, not prison).

As one of seven children, Anthony was introduced to Boxing by his father who was a professional wrestler and wanted Anthony to stay conditioned and active. He trained in a garage at first with no ring but took a love to the sport and dedicated himself to becoming a professional fighter. He rode his bike to the gym everyday after school. Anthony showed that same dedication in his school work and was an honor student throughout High School and was awarded a scholarship from the Golden Gloves for college where Anthony obtained an Associates in Criminal Justice degree from Manchester Community College.

Anthony had these thoughts about his recent signing: “I’m very excited to be signed with Star Boxing. Star Boxing will allow me to be able to go farther in my career of boxing. I have heard nothing but great things about Joe DeGuardia. This is truly a dream come true for me. As a kid, I worked hard for this moment right here. Being signed by a promotion company that produced world champions. This company will get me where I want to be, which is the top. This gives me a chance to help my family. My mother and father did what they could for me. As a kid, I wasn’t brought up with much and that made me hungry and humble. Now it’s time for me to help them. I have faith that this is what God wanted me to do. To come from a humble beginning and become what I dreamed as a kid. To give him all the glory for what he has done for me.”

Manager Nate Torres had this to say “Super excited to join the Star Boxing Family. Their reputation and track record speak for itself. They can take a boxer from their Pro Debut to the World Title from A to Z! That’s what we want for Anthony, the Best, he deserves no less!! Team Laureano just got stronger with STAR Boxing! #teamlaureano #starboxing.”

Promoter Joe DeGuardia had this to say about his latest signing “I’m very happy to have Anthony join the Star Boxing family. He is an outstanding young man who has great skills and character. Our fans will fall in love with Anthony because of his non-stop action style, and I expect Anthony to become a huge draw in the New England area.”

Anthony is managed by Nate Torres of Toe2Tow LLC and trained by former fighter Angel Gonzalez, and will be making his Star Boxing debut May 11th at The Mohegan Sun.
