NEW YORK (June 23, 2020) – TONIGHT at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Split-T Management fighter Rolando Vargas takes a step up in competition when he takes on fellow undefeated Miguel Contreras in a six-round junior welterweight bout featuring undefeated fighters.

The fight can be seen live on ESPN beginning at 8 PM ET.

Vargas, 20, of Milwaukee is 5-0 with all wins coming via stoppage.

After winning the 2017 Junior National Championships, Vargas turned professional, and has ripped off five consecutive knockouts, with none of his fights reaching the 3rd round.

Vargas will be making his 2nd start of 2020, as he is coming off a 2nd round stoppage over Rondale Hubbert on February 8th in Hammond, Indiana.

Contreras of Bakersfield, California is 10-0 with six knockouts. The 22 year-old Contreras is a four-year professional, and is coming off a eight-round unanimous decision over Manuel Monteiro on February 1st in Bakersfield.

At Monday’s weigh-in, Vargas was 137 lbs. Contreras was 137.4 lbs.
