BILOXI, MS (March 4, 2021) – Undefeated lightweight prospect, Tyler “Short Fuse” Tomlin (9-0, 5 KOs), better known as Ty Tomlin, will return to the ring tonight on UFC Fight Pass as part of a RJJ Boxing card as he faces Ricardo Ocampo (12-10, 7 KOs) in a scheduled 6-round bout. The card will take place at the Biloxi Civic Center in Mississippi.
Tomlin, a native of Cheatham County, Tennessee, is looking to reach double digits in the victory column as he goes for win number ten as a professional.
“I am excited to put on an exciting show for all my family, friends and fans, back home in Tennessee, who will be tuning in to watch this fight,” said the 21-year-old Tomlin, who is extremely popular in his community. “This is going to be another performance where I showcase what I bring to the table. I fight with a lot of passion and desire and my hard work will be on display tonight.”
Tomlin’s opponent, Richard Ocampo of Valenzuela, came in four pounds heavier, but despite him being overweight, Tomlin is ready to fight. Tomlin, who weighed in yesterday at 140 lbs., will campaign in this fight at super lightweight, as Ocampo came in heavy at 144 lbs.
“We came to fight, and Ocampo is getting a fight, regardless of him coming in heavy,” said Darryl Tomlin, the trainer, manager, and father of Ty Tomlin. “Ty worked really hard for this fight and nothing will take away this opportunity of showcasing his skills and abilities on a major platform like UFC Fight Pass, especially with all the support he has been getting back home. We have a caravan of fans who made the road trip from Nashville to Biloxi, so he is going to leave everything in the ring tonight.”
“The fact that I have a lot of fans coming to see me fight live is a tremendous blessing, especially during COVID,” Ty Tomlin continued. “The energy from my fans is something special and I’m happy they can attend these fights. I want to make a statement with an impressive win, and I’ll be looking to get my opponent out of there if I see him hurt.”
RJJ Boxing will be streamed live and exclusively on UFC FIGHT PASS®, the world’s leading digital subscription service for combat sports, starting at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. To sign up for UFC FIGHT PASS, please visit www.ufcfightpass.com.
