Former world title challenger Ruben Villa returned from a 16-month layoff to look impressive in stopping Horacio Garcia in round nine of their 10-round featherweight bout at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, California.

In round one, Garcia was cut over his left eye. Villa looked sharp in landing crisp three and four-punch combinations for which Garcia had no answer for. Villa did not look like he took any time off as he continued to break down and bloody Garcia more and more as the rounds went by.

Finally in round nine, Villa landed hard combinations that forced referee Raul Caiz Jr. to stop the bout at 1:12.

Villa, 126.4 lbs of Salinas, CA is now 19-1 with six knockouts. Garcia, 126.8 lbs of Guadalajara, MEX is 35-6-1.

In a rematch, Richard Brewart Jr. won a six-round unanimous decision over Antonio Duarte.

Brewart, 161.3 lbs of Rancho Cucamonga, CA won by scores of 60-54 on all cards and is now 11-0. Duarte, 161 lbs of Tijuana, MEX is 2-3.

This was a rematch of June 14, 2019 bout at the same venue where Brewart won by similar scores of 60-54 twice and 59-55.

Pedro Valencia shook off a first-round knockdown to win a six-round unanimous decision over Edgar Palacios in a battle of undefeated lightweights

In round one, Palacios dropped Valencia with a big straight left. Valencia was able to battle back and dominate the final two rounds and win by scores of 57-56 on all cards.

Valencia, 137.8 lbs of Pocoima, CA is 9-0. Palacios, 136.6 lbs of La Paz, MEX is 3-1.

Esteban Munoz stopped Kenny Williams after round three of their six-round welterweight bout.

In round three, Munoz and Williams clashed heads and Williams started to bleed around the right eye. In between rounds, the fight was halted by the corner.

Munoz, 145 lbs of San Bernardino, CA is 6-1 with three knockouts. Williams, 148.1 lbs of San Antonio, TX is 4-7-1.

Nelson Oliva stopped Manuel Martinez in the opening round of their four-round super welterweight bout.

In round one, Oliva dropped Martinez with a left hand. Seconds later, it was another left hand that sent Martinez down for second time and the fight was stopped at 1:42,

Oliva, 157 lbs of Riverside, CA is 2-0 with two knockouts. Martinez, 158 lbs of Tijuana, MEX is 6-6-4.

Alejandro Barajas made a successful pro debut with a four-round unanimous decision over Ulises Rosales in a bantamweight fight.

Barajas, 117.4 lbs of Los Angeles, CA won by scores of 40-36 on all cards and is now 1-0. Rosales, 117.8 lbs of Tijuana, MEX is 0-6.
