There is no quit in me and it is going to take something special to beat me on Friday night. “I’ve been through far too much to not come away victorious and there is no way I am accepting leaving not leaving with that belt. “They call me the Scottish Mexican because of my style and this is going to be an exciting fight because our styles match up well.” Erik Robles said: “I am not worried about being the away fighter and there is no pressure on me. “Mexicans bring war everywhere they fight, this will be the same and I am not scared at all. “Lee is really good fighter, he hits hard and this is going to be a war and a great fight. But Mexico is going to win.” Wasserman Boxing’s Nisse Sauerland said: “This has been a long time coming and I couldn’t believe Lee had not fought in his hometown since his debut in 2017. “This is not an easy fight but should Lee win on Friday night, then the world is his oyster and there are a lot of big fights out there for him. “We promoted Josh Taylor during the World Boxing Super Series and we know there is a huge boxing market in this part of the world, and so we wanted to deliver this homecoming for Lee.” Ben Davison, McGregor’s coach, said: “Lee thrives on pressure. He captured three titles in such a short space of time and a lot of those title fights have seen his best performances. “Lee has got so many great attributes, one of which is his big heart. Hopefully we don’t need to show that on Friday night, Lee is well-schooled, he’s also huge for the weight, big and strong and he prepares himself well.” |
