NEW YORK (April 29, 2024)–Former world title challenger Jessica Camara scored a huge win as she defeated undefeated and former two-division world champion Myun Hi Choi to win the WBA Gol Championship via split decision in Choi’s home country of South Korea.

Camara of Montreal who came up just short in a split decision defeated to unified super lightweight champion Kali Reis, was able to dominate Choi betaking control of the fight from the outset.

With the win, Camara, who is managed by Split-T Management under Brian Cohen adds to her impressive resume that includes wins over Dalila Vazquez (5-1) and former world champion Heather Hardy (22-1). Camara is now 13-4.

Choi, who remarkably won the WBA featherweight bout at age 17 in her professional debut, and went on to make seven defenses. Choi then moved up and won the WBA Super Featherweight title and made defenses of that title. Choi is now 22-0-1.
