WBA Intercontinental Middleweight Champion Patrick Nielsen improved to 19-0 (9 KOs) on Saturday night in Aarhus, Denmark when he knocked out Crispulo Javier Andino (16-6-1, 7 KOs) in the fourth round. In his first fight with renowned US coach Joey Gamache in his corner, Nielsen dominated from the beginning. He worked behind his jab and went to the body. In the fourth, a left to the body sent the Argentinian down. He beat the count – only to go down again after another flurry of punches. “I am pleased with my performance,” Nielsen said. “The training with Joey has been very good. It all came together nicely today and I am happy that I stopped Andino.” Said promoter Nisse Sauerland: “Patrick looked very sharp. Andino never had a chance. That was a great win for him.”
On the undercard, rising cruiserweight Micki Nielsen (9-0, 8 KOs), who is also trained by Gamache, scored an impressive second-round TKO win over Marko Angermann. Swedish light heavyweight Erik Skoglund improved to 17-0 (9 KOs) with a unanimous points victory over former European title challenger Lorenzo di Giacomo. It was a successful evening for Karsten Roewer´s Swedish trio, with welterweight Anthony Yigit (4-0, 1 KO) dominating Jan Balog and heavyweight Otto Wallin celebrating a spectacular pro debut. The 22-year-old stopped Roman Cherney in the first round.
Also, hometown fighter Dennis Ceylan pleased his fans with a points victory over Yordan Vasilev, just like Torben Keller, who defeated Michael Schubov on points. Peter Gram edged Shahriyar Weissi (TKO 4), Rashid Kassem beat Andrei Staliarchuk on points, Simen Smaadal outpointed Artem Solomko and Arman Torosyan stopped Reda Zam Zam (TKO 7).
