SUPER WELTERWEIGHT CONTENDER SERHII BOHACHUK RETURNS AGAINST AARON COLEY ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 3

Los Angeles, CA (September 28, 2022) Popular Ukrainian Super-Middleweight Contender Serhii ‘El Flacco’ Bohachuk, (20-1, 20 KOs), will make his long-awaited return to the ring against veteran southpaw Aaron Coley, (16-4-1, 7 KO’s), of Patterson, CA in a scheduled ten-round clash for the vacant WBC Continental Americas Title on Thursday, November 3 at The Quiet Cannon/ Montebello Country Club and broadcast live internationally on UFC FIGHT PASS, (10:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. PT).

Bohachuk vs. Coley is featured on anotheranticipated sold-out, star studded Hollywood Fight Nights event presented by Tom Loeffler’s 360 Promotions. Fan favorite Bohachuk has spent the last year in his native Ukraine where he endured many trials and tribulations when Russia attacked his beloved country in February. With his brother currently fighting in the Ukrainian army,  Bohachuk takes great pride in fighting in the ring for his homeland while his country is at war similar to unified heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk and three-division world champion Vasiliy Lomachenko. Bohachuk recently received special dispensation from the Ukrainian government to represent his country and continue his boxing career in the United States.

Following a year of inactivity, the hard-hitting Bohachuk looks to continue his winning ways following a six-round knockout of Raphael Igbokwe on September 16, 2021. Coley has never been stopped and has been victim of home-town split decisions in three of his last four bouts;  most recently to Jamontay Clark on April 9, 2022 in Las Vegas, NV.

Super Welterweight Contender Jamontay Clark Faces Aaron Coley, Plus Philippine Olympian Eumir Marcial Returns To The Ring, Highlighting Non-Televised Undercard Lineup This Saturday,April 9 From Virgin Hotels Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (April 6, 2022) – Super welterweight contender Jamontay Clark will duel Aaron Coley in an eight-round showdown highlighting the non-televised undercard this Saturday, April 9 in a Premier Boxing Champions event from the Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, part of Curio Collection by Hilton.

Also in action, 2020 Philippine Olympian Eumir Marcial returns to the ring to take on Isiah Hart in a four-round middleweight affair.

The event is headlined by a SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING tripleheader that will see top 154-pound contenders Erickson “Hammer” Lubin and Sebastian “The Towering Inferno” Fundora meet for the WBC Super Welterweight Interim Title in the main event. The action on SHOWTIME begins at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT and also features former super welterweight world champion Tony “Superbad” Harrison taking on highly regarded contender Sergio Garcia in the 10-round co-main event, plus unbeaten super welterweight Kevin Salgado battling Bryant Perrella in the 10-round telecast opener

The non-televised lineup also includes highly-touted Mayweather Promotions prospect Jalil Hackett (3-0, 2 KOs) squaring off against fellow unbeaten Jose Belloso (4-0, 4 KOs) in a six-round welterweight affair, and Mayweather Promotions’ super featherweight prospect Dorian Khan Jr. (1-0, 1 KO) competing in a four-round attraction against Mexico’s Arturo De Isla (2-1, 1 KO).

Rounding out the card is super bantamweight prospect Alberto Gonzalez (1-0) in a four-round fight against Daniel Alegre (1-0, 1 KO) and the pro debut of super bantamweight Xavier Bocanegra in a four-round bout taking on Jose Ramirez (1-1, 1 KO).

The 27-year-old Clark (15-2-1, 7 KOs) will return to the ring looking to bounce back from a March 2021 defeat against U.S. Olympian Terrell Gausha. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Clark won his first 13 pro fights, including impressive victories over Ivan Golub and Domonique Dolton. Clark also owns a split-draw against unbeaten contender Sebastian Fundora in a 2019 action fight. He will be challenged by the Hayward, California native Coley (16-3-1, 7 KOs), who most recently lost a split-decision against Vladimir Hernandez in July 2020. Coley won six-straight fights after his first loss and overall has won seven of his last nine fights.

Fresh off his run to the semifinals representing the Philippines during the Olympic tournament in Tokyo, Marcial (1-0) steps back into action for his second pro fight on April 9. In addition to making the Olympics, Marcial had a decorated amateur career that included gold medal wins in the India Open, the Korotkov Memorial Tournament, the Ulaanbaatar Cup and the Southeast Asian Games. Prior to the Olympics, Marcial had a successful pro debut in December 2020, beating Andrew Whitfield by decision. He will take on the 30-year-old Hart (6-2-1, 4 KOs), who fights out of Mays Landing, New Jersey and went 1-1 in 2021, stopping Ernesto Cardona Sanchez before losing to Francis Hogan.

EARLY RESULTS FROM NATIONAL HARBOR, MD

Aaron Coley won a eight-round split decision over Brandon Quarles in a super welterweight contest.

Coley, 155 1/4 lbs of Hayward, CA won by scores of 79-73 and 78-74. Quarles won a card 77-75.

Coley is 16-2-1. Quarles, 156 1/2 lbs of Alexandria, VA is 21-5-1.

19 year-old Lorenzo Simpson won a four-round unanimous decision over Jaime Meza in a middleweight bout.

Simpson dropped Meza with a hard left in the opening seconds of the bout.

Simpson, 162 lbs of Baltimore, MD won by scores of 40-36 and 40-35 twice and is now 3-0. Meza, 161 1/2 lbs of Nicaragua was making his pro debut.

Cobia Breedy won a technical decision over Fernando Fuentes in a featherweight bout.

Fuentes suffered a cut over his eye in round six from an accidental clash of heads. The scores at the time of the bout was 59-55 and 58-5 twice.

Breedy, 125 1/2 lbs of Barbados is 13-0. Fuentes, 125 1/4 lbs is 14-8-1.




Showdown at the Fairgrounds II on Saturday

WarriorsROSEVILLE, CA — Upstart Northern California boxing promoter O.P.P. brings live professional boxing back to the Placer County Fair & Events Center in Roseville with “Showdown at the Fairgrounds II” on Saturday, October 12th. The highly-anticipated event is headlined by fast-rising junior middleweight prospect Aaron Coley and highlighted by a showdown between two undefeated light welterweights, Aldwayne Simpson and Ulises Soriano, both based out of Richmond, California. Coley (7-0, 4 KOs) of Hayward, California will make the move up to the six-round distance for the first time in his career as he takes on veteran gatekeeper Michael Alexander (2-8-3) of Antioch, California. Coley was last in the ring back on July 20th at the initial “Showdown at the Fairgrounds” where he took a shutout four-round decision over a game Saul Benitez. The tough luck Alexander has an appeal pending regarding his seventh pro loss, which took place on June 1st. In that fight, against unbeaten Ricardo Pinell, Alexander was clearly hit by a shot after the bell which resulted in the stoppage.

Aldwayne Simpson (4-0, 2 KOs) of Richmond, California by way of Kingston, Jamaica takes to the ring for the first time in 2013 against long tenured journeyman Luis Alfredo Lugo (13-19-1, 6 KOs) of Richmond by way of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico in a four-round light welterweight contest. Simpson is a frequent sparring partner for Amir Khan when the former champion moves his camp to nearby Oakland. Lugo has fought virtual who’s who of world champions and contenders. Upon moving to the United States, Lugo took on nine consecutive undefeated fighters from May 2008 to September 2009. In that stretch Lugo went the distance with eventual world champions Danny Garcia and Adrien Broner.

Local fan favorite John Abella (4-0-1, 2 KOs) of neighboring Sacramento, California returns to the ring against Christian Cartier (0-2) of Yuma, Arizona by way of Los Algodones, Baja California, Mexico in a four-round featherweight bout. In his last outing, Abella erased a headbutt-induced technical draw with a one-sided six-round decision in a rematch with Salvador Cifuentez this past April. Cartier has not shied away from tough competition, taking on unbeaten prospects in all of his pro bouts.

Former international amateur standout Adam Fiel (1-0, 1 KO) of Fairfield, California will be looking for win number two in a four-round featherweight bout. Fiel spent time competing for both the U.S. and Filipino National Teams as part of a long and decorated amateur career. Fiel, under the tutelage of trainer Nonito Donaire Sr., turned pro at “Showdown at the Fairgrounds” with a devastating first-round stoppage of Francisco Solis. Fiel will be taking on an opponent to be announced shortly.

OPPPosterMaking his return to the ring after a two-year absence, Miguel Lopez (2-1, 1 KO) of Oakland, California will take on debuting Luis Cruz of Sacramento in a four-round light middleweight bout. Lopez, who in his time away opened up the gym Boxing For Health in Oakland, suffered his only pro loss in his last contest, but to a fighter in Brandon Adams that now has an 11-0 career mark. Cruz is a pupil of Horacio Barrera at Broadway Boxing in Sacramento.

LaRon Mitchell, one of the top amateur heavyweights of the U.S. boxing system over the last couple of years, makes the second start of his pro career as he takes on tough journeyman Blue DeLong (0-4) of Glendale, Arizona in a four-round heavyweight bout. Mitchell (1-0, 1 KO) was the runner-up at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials and silver medalist at the 2012 USA Boxing National Championships when a shoulder injury prevented him from competing in the finals. DeLong is coming off of a tough assignment against still unbeaten Gerald Washington.

Another local favorite making his return to Roseville will be Sacramento’s undefeated Alberto Torres, who will be taking on debuting Percy Peterson of Stockton, California in a four-round lightweight bout. Torres (3-0-1) dropped San Francisco, California’s Denis Madriz en route to a four-round unanimous decision victory at July’s “Showdown at the Fairgrounds” event. Peterson is a frequent sparring partner of up-and-coming pro Don Jose.
