LAS VEGAS, NV (May 8, 2024) – Two of boxing’s brightest young rising stars, Chavez and Angel Barrientes, have officially inked a promotional agreement with Boxlab Promotions, a prominent company in the world of boxing promotions based out of Orlando, Florida. This partnership marks a significant breakthrough in the promising careers of these talented young fighters.

Trained by their father, Richard Barrientes, and managed by longtime boxing specialist Bob Santos, Chavez and Angel Barrientes are eager to get back on track with their promising boxing careers. Hailing from the boxing-rich city of Las Vegas, Nevada, the twins are working endlessly at the Pound-4-Pound Boxing Gym, refining their techniques, and preparing themselves for the next level of competition.

Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, the twins are of Philippine and Mexican decent, and plan on captivating both regions, as well as their fellow American’s here in the states. At age 21, they both envision staying busy and rising up the rankings with Boxlab Promotions.

LAS VEGAS, NV (April 14, 2022) – Super bantamweight prospect, Angel “AK-47” Barrientes (8-1, 6 KOs), is ready to make a statement against Fernando Garcia (13-4, 8 KOS), this Saturday, April 16th, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. In an action packed war, Maliek Montgomery won a 10-round unanimous decision over Aleem Jumakhonov in a featherweight battle in Bakersfield, California.

The two banged away on the inside, landing heavy shots. Montgomery landed many more and some thudding shots that swelled the left eye of Jumakhonov.

Montgomery landed 339 of 973 punches; Jumakhonov was 185 of 864.

Montgomery, 126 lbs of Macon, GA won by scores of 100-90, 99-91 and 98-92 and is now 11-0. Jumakhonov, 125 lbs of Resada, CA is 9-4-2.

Juarez Decisions Lopez

Omar Juarez won a eight-round unanimous decision over Jairo Lopez in super lightweight fight.

In round five, Juarez landed a big right that sent Lopez to a knee.

Juarez landed 195 of 557 punches; Lopez was 103 of 466.

Juarez, 142 lbs of Brownsville, TX won by scores of 80-71, and 79-72 twice and is now 12-1. Lopez, 141 lbs of Nuvo Leon, MEX is 23-14.

Barrientes Decisions Torres

Angel Barrientes won a six-round unanimous decision over Victor Torres in a super bantamweight fight.

In round three, Barrientes began to bleed from the nose.

Barrientes landed 118 of 344 punches; Torres was 60 of 344.

Barrientes, 121.4 lbs of Las Vegas, NV won by scores of 60-54 on all cards and is now 6-1. Torres, 121.6 lbs of Modesto, CA is 7-9-1.

BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 18, 2021) – One of the top prospects in America returns Sunday, September 19th, on his road to redemption as super bantamweight Angel “AK-47” Barrientes (5-1, 3 KOs), who is only 19 years old, and is on a two-fight win streak with both fights ending via first-round KOs, takes on Victor Torres (7-8-1, 5 KOs) of Modesto, California. Torres is currently riding a five-fight win streak.

The 4-round bout takes place at the Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield, California, shown worldwide on FS1 at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.

Featherweight Chavez Barrientes (5-0, 4 KOs), age 18, will be looking for his third knockout in a row as his career continues to start fast.

Mark Magsayo remained undefeated by winning a 10-split decision over Rigoberto Hermosillo in a featherweight bout at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Magsayo, 127 lbs of The Philippines won by scores of 100-90 and 96-94 while Hermosillo won a card 96-94.

Hermosillo landed 181 of 856 punches. Magsayo landed harder as he only was 136 of 417.

Magsayo is 21-0. Hermosillo, 126.6 lbs of Guadalajara, MX is 11-3-1.

“I’m very happy to get this victory,” said Magsayo, who was trained for the first time by renowned coach Freddie Roach heading into this bout. “Freddie got me in great shape for this fight and I’m happy working with him. Kroll Decisions Santamaria

Paul Kroll remained undefeated with a 10-round unanimous decision over Luke Santamaria in a welterweight bout.

It was Santamaria who outlanded Kroll 81-65.

Kroll, 147 lbs of Philadelphia won by scores of 99-91 twice and 96-94 and is now 8-0. Santamaria, 146.4 lbs of Garden Groves, CA is 10-2-1.

Chavez Barrientes decisions Varela

Chavez Barrientes won a six-round unanimous decision over Ivan Varela in a featherweight contest.

Barrientes outlanded Varela 90-64.

Barrientes, 122.6 lbs of Las Vegas won by scores of 60-54 twice and 59-55 and is now 4-0. Varela, 123.8 lbs of Portervile, CA is 3-3.

Angel Barrientes decisions Ibarra

Angel Barrientes won a six-round unanimous decision over Fernando Ibarra in a super bantamweight bout.

In round six, Barrientes was docked a point for holding.

Barrientes outlanded Ibarra 112-39.

“Me and my brother train together every day. We really learn well off each other. We’ve been running up at Mt. Charleston to help us with beast level conditioning. I have remained fight ready all of quarantine. We are ready and excited to get into the ring and show the world what we are all about. “

The telecast begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT and will feature top welterweight prospect Paul Kroll squaring off against rising prospect Luke Santamaria in the 10-round co-main event. The lineup also features the unbeaten Barrientes twins in separate six-round featherweight attractions as Ángel Barrientes takes on Fernando Ibarra and Chávez Barrientes matches up against Ivan Varela.

The event will be promoted by TGB Promotions and will take place without fans in attendance at the Microsoft Theater, an AEG venue, in downtown Los Angeles.

The Filipino sensation Magsayo (20-,0, 14 KOs) fights out of Pasig City, Metro Manila and most recently scored two wins in 2019, knocking out Erick Deztroyer in April and earning a 12-round decision over former world champion Panya Uthok in August. The 25-year-old owns two other 12-round decision wins and a stoppage of former title challenger Chris Avalos. Magsayo will be fighting in the U.S. for the third time on October 3.

Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Hermosillo (11-2-1, 8 KOs) now trains out of California as he prepares to fight in the U.S. for the fourth straight time. The 28-year-old has fought professionally since 2013 and will look to bounce back from defeats against a pair of unbeaten fighters. He dropped a narrow split-decision to Manny Robles last May, and most recently dropped a decision to Viktor Slavinskyi last November.

A decorated U.S. amateur from the fighter-rich city of Philadelphia, Kroll (7-0, 6 KOs) turned pro in August 2018 with a first-round stoppage of DeAngelo Alcorn. The 25-year-old ended his first four fights inside of two rounds before going to distance and beating then unbeaten Shinard Bunch in August 2019. Most recently, Kroll kicked off his 2020 campaign with a TKO victory over Marcel Rivers in January.

The 22-year-old Santamaria (11-1-1, 7 KOs) returns to action after an August triumph over veteran contender Mykal Fox that saw him drop Fox in round one of their battle on FS1. The Garden Grove, California native had previously won a decision over Willie Jones and fought to a split draw against Marquis Taylor in his 2019 contests. Santamaria is unbeaten in his last 10 fights since his lone loss, a four-round decision in his third pro bout in 2015.

The younger twin by 13 minutes, Ángel Barrientes (2-0, 2 KOs) and his brother were born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and moved to Las Vegas when they were two-years-old. The 18-year-old Ángel turned pro alongside his brother last November with a first-round knockout of Luis Armando Nunez. Ángel had an impressive amateur career winning 14 national tournaments and three international. He will be opposed by the 19-year-old Ibarra (2-3) who hails from Guanajuato, Mexico and fights out of Fairfield, California.

Fresh off of graduating high school with his brother in May, Chávez Barrientes (2-0, 2 KOs) also delivered a first-round knockout in his pro debut last November, stopping Jorge Luis Sedano. Chávez and his brother were first introduced to the sport by their father Richard at an early age, with their interest and skill eventually prompting him to open his own gym. LAS VEGAS, NV (August 3, 2020) – 17-year old twin boxing sensations, coming fresh off a sparring tour in the United States, Angel “AK-47” (3-0, 3 KOs) and Chavez “The Beast” Barrientes (3-0, 3 KOs), and their highly touted teammate, Demler “DJ” Zamora lll (4-0, 3 KOs), all scored impressive knockouts on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at Papas and Beer in Rosarito, MX.

The three highly regarded fighters, who hail from the Pound-4-Pound boxing gym in Las Vegas, Nevada, all lived up to their billing.

Super bantamweight Chavez Barrientes stopped Gilberto Valenzuela in the first round, furthering his impressive performances.

“I had a very good camp, and worked hard for this bout,” said Chavez Barrientes. “We spent a lot of time working with fighters we’d never sparred before and it helped a lot for this fight. I hit my opponent with powerful body blow and that was the punch that hurt him most. He couldn’t recover after that.”

Twin brother, Angel Barrientes saw a similar result as he stopped Brayan Martinez in the first round of their super bantamweight bout.

“I was able to land a couple of nice straight right hands to my opponents head that put him down early,” said Angel Barrientes. “I am lucky to return the ring this soon and hope to stay active as I want to achieve so much in this sport. I knew I had to make a statement and I did.”

Featherweight Demler “DJ” Zamora III stopped Sergio Vidal in the second round with a check right hook.

“We’ve been working on a lot of different things in the gym and one of them was throwing a hard right hook,” said Zamora “That was the punch that landed flush and hurt my opponent. Once I saw him hurt, I wanted to end the fight and I did so with a flurry of punches. These camps keep getting better and better and felt as sharp as ever going into this fight.”

Other Pound-4-Pound stablemates scoring victories in Mexico were Lightweight Nino Delgado (6-0-1, 3 KOs), Super Flyweight Jesse Rosales (4-0, 3 KOs), and Featherweight Joseph Macedo (2-0, 2 KOs).

Featherweight sensation DJ Zamora lll (3-0, 2 KOs) won a four-round unanimous decision in his last fight. After getting world class sparring, Zamora III is geared up for a great performance.

LAS VEGAS, NV (June 16, 2020) – The Pound-For-Pound Boxing Gym in Las Vegas, who has three elite boxers making waves in the professional ranks, twin sensations Angel “AK-47” Barrientes (2-0, 2 KOs) and Chavez “The Beast” Barrientes (2-0, 2 KOs), as well as their stablemate Demler “DJ War Machine” Zamora III (3-0, 2 KOs), have traveled to the Bay Area to get elite level sparring with top tier fighters in Eros Correa (10-0, 8 KOs), Oscar Escandon (26-5, 18 KOs), and Justin Cardona (4-0, 2 KOs), as well as many other top fighters.

“This is needed to see where we are at,” said super bantamweight Angel Barrientes. “We’re all trying our hardest to become the best fighters we can be, and going to different places to spar the best, is a great way to find out where you sit amongst the best in the world. I’m looking forward to sparring new guys.”

Amongst one of their many stops, the three young fighters will be visiting Ruben “Mad Dog” Guerrero’s boxing gym in Gilroy, California, as the legendary trainer will open his doors to the young fighters and their team.

Zamora, the youngest of the three fighters who just turned 17-years-old is very excited about this summer sparring trip.

“We all want to be the best and in order to be the best you have to travel to learn,” said the dynamic featherweight Zamora III. “I am eager to be in a new climate, be in gyms I am unfamiliar with, and find out where I am at as a fighter.”

LAS VEGAS, NV (March 16, 2020) – Angel and Chavez Barrientes, as well as their stablemate Demler “DJ” Zamora lll, all won this past Saturday night at the Big Punch Arena in Tijuana, Mexico.

Chavez Barrientes (2-0, 2 KOs) picked up the second win of his professional career knocking out his opponent in the first round. Chavez, who campaigns at super bantamweight, has won every fight by way of knockout in his career.

“It feels great to get the knockout,” said Chavez Barrientes. “To fight on the same card as my brother, and for both of us to get knockout wins, was awesome. I am going to stay active and look to fight again soon.”

Super bantamweight Angel Barrientes (2-0, 2 KO) won via a third-round knockout after dropping his opponent once in the first round, and again in the second. His opponent’s corner threw in the towel in round three after taking to much punishment.

“I am really happy with the performance, my opponent was tough,” said Barrientes, the 17-year-old boxing prospect. “I am confident in my ability and I know when I make my USA debut it will be special. I’m hoping to fight in America in my next fight.”

Also featured on the card, super featherweight DJ Zamora lll (3-0, 2 KOs) won a four-round unanimous decision. Zamora dominated the fight for the entire four rounds.

“It was a great fight to get me to where I need to go,” said the 16-year-old Las Vegas standout. “I am improving with each fight and this was a fight that will make me better.”

LAS VEGAS, NV (January 30, 2020) – Prodigy twins, Angel Barrientes (1-0, 1KO), and Chavez Barrientes (1-0, 1KO), both 17-years old, will return to the ring on January 31, 2019 at the Big Punch Arena in Tijuana, Mexico. Both will fight in separate 4-round bouts against opponents TBA.

Angel and Chavez made their professional debut last year at the bantamweight division, both winning by 1st round knockout. The two combined have won 25 nationals in the amateurs, and are looking to duplicate that success in the pros. Together they are off to a fast start as the make their 2020 debut.

“I can’t wait to put on another great performance in Mexico,” said Angel Barrientes, who goes by the nickname AK-47, and has never lost an amateur tournament, winning all fourteen that he entered. “This will be an even better performance since I know what to expect in the professional game. I’m going to be on the attack from the opening bell.”

“I am very motivated going into this fight and I know what is needed to get the win,” said Chavez “The Beast” Barrientes. “I am setting realistic goals so that I can achieve them one by one, with the next one being this upcoming fight in Mexico. LAS VEGAS, NV (November 20, 2019) – Last Thursday, the prodigy twins, Angel and Chavez Barrientes, were successful in their pro debuts, both scoring first round knockouts. The dynamic duo, who are only 17-years old, traveled to Tijuana, Mexico, to turn professional.

“I felt good to finally fight as a professional with no head gear and 8 oz gloves,” said Angel “A-K 47 “Barrientes (1-0, 1 KO). “As soon as I let my first punch go, I felt comfortable. I got the knockout and I’m ready to make a quick return back to the ring.”
