Biloxi, MS (August 21, 2023) – NABA middleweight champion Connor “The Kid” Coyle of Derry, Northern Ireland successfully defended his title for a third time with an impressive fifth round knockout of Joey Bryant Saturday, August 19 at The Bind Tiger in Biloxi, MS.

Coyle displayed good skills and outboxed Bryant in the early rounds. In the fifth Coyle dropped Bryant three times, forcing the referee to halt the contest at 2:54.

Coyle improved to 20-0 with 9 KO’s and he’s currently ranked #6 by the World Boxing Association (WBA). Bryant falls to 17-2 (13 KO’s).

“I’m happy with the victory,” said Coyle. who trains out of Pinellas Park, FL. “Our game plan was to pick him apart round by round and break him down. It was executed exactly the way we wanted it.”

With the victory, Coyle’s sights are set on facing one of the champions or top contenders at 160 pounds.

A native of Derry, Northern Ireland, Coyle trains in Pinellas Park, FL under Florida Boxing Hall of Famer Jim McLaughlin. A perfect 18-0 with 8 knockouts, Coyle had a breakout year in 2022, going 4-0 including a May decision victory over Antonio Todd to secure the NABA title. The 32-year-old is currently ranked #4 by the World Boxing Association (WBA, and plans to fight for a world title within the next 12 months but he must first win Saturday evening.

New York, NY (January 16, 2023) – NABA middleweight champion Connor “The Kid” Coyle spent time with John Duddy on a recent trip to New York City.

Duddy assisted Coyle during a training session at Trinity Boxing Club. Following the workout, the pair sat down to discuss the ins and outs of the sweet science.

Like Duddy, Coyle is a middleweight from Derry, Northern Ireland with a fan-friendly style. Coyle had a big 2022, going 4-0 and winning the NABA title in the process. Currently ranked #6 by the WBA, Coyle’s happy he was able to spend time with a fighter he looked up to.

Falcao puts his belt on the line against knockout artist Ernest Amuzu, 26-7 (22 KO’s), in a ten round contest. Falcao, who has an outstanding 23-1-1 record with 9 knockouts, became the NABA champion earlier this year when he defeated Damian Bonelli at the Caribe Royale. He is also rated 8^th in the world by the WBC.

Orlando, FL (November 7, 2022) – NABA middleweight champion Connor “The Kid” Coyle will defend his title against knockout artist Anibal Cleto Francisco in a battle of unbeatens Sunday, December 11 at the Caribe Royale in Orlando.

The card takes place during the WBA’s annual Centennial Convention, which is held at the Caribe Royale from December 11-14.

A native of Derry, Northern Ireland who trains out of Pinellas Park, FL Coyle’s 17-0 with 7 knockouts. Coyle became the NABA champion this past May when he earned a hard-fought decision against Antonio Todd. He was slated to face Felix Cash October 8 in England but the entire card was cancelled after main event participant Conor Benn failed a drug test. 

Hailing from Monte Plata, Dominican Republic, Francisco’s 10-0 with 9 of his victories coming by KO. On July 2, the 22-year-old stopped Yeison Gonzalez in the fifth round to capture the WBA Fedelatin title.

Tampa, FL (October 11, 2022) – On Saturday October 8, Connor “The Kid” Coyle expected to be fighting a ten round contest against fellow unbeaten world rated middleweight Felix Cash at the O2 Arena in London.

Coyle-Cash was scheduled to be the co-main event to the Chris Eubank Jr.-Conor Benn matchup, which would air worldwide on DAZN. It was the biggest fight of Coyle’s career but one he was without question ready for.

A native of Northern Ireland, Coyle traveled more than 4000 miles to begin an intense training camp with head trainer Jim McLaughlin in Pinellas Park, FL. To ensure he was sharp as possible, Coyle fought on September 17. He won easily via eight round decision then continued preparing for Cash until the completion of his Camp September 30. 

On October 2, Coyle, McLaughlin, promoter Jody Caliguire of Fire Fist Boxing Promotions and the rest of his team landed in London.

Mentally and physically, Coyle was prepared for the most important fight of his career. This was until shocking news sent everything into a tailspin.

On Wednesday, October 5, it was revealed that Conor Benn failed a drug test administered by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA). The banned substance, Clomiphene, is primarily recognized as a female fertility drug but can increase testosterone production and boost androgen, a male hormone that contributes to muscle mass.

Benn did however pass a separate test by the UK Anti-Doping Agency (UKAD) and all parties appeared ready to move forward. Ultimately, the British Boxing Board of Control (BBB of C) refused to sanction the fight, stating it was not in the sport’s best interest. On Thursday, October 6, Matchroom Boxing and Wasserman Boxing announced the cancellation of the entire event.

“This was a major disappointment for our team,” said Caliguire. “Connor Coyle made incredible sacrifices to be prepared as possible for Felix Cash on October 8. Conor Benn’s failed test ultimately led to the cancellation of the entire event. This impacted every other fighter and their teams that put in the hard work so they could perform at the highest level for such a big event. Team Coyle is hoping to reschedule the fight against Cash as soon as possible.”

Tampa, FL (September 19, 2022) – NABA middleweight champion Connor “The Kid” Coyle and super middleweight boogeyman Yamaguchi “The Problem” Falcao of Fire Fist Boxing Promotions both scored eight round unanimous decision victories Saturday, September 17 at Alessi Fitness Center in Tampa, FL.

Fighting in front of a large and vocal group of supporters, Coyle met 68 fight veteran Silverio Ortiz of Mexico.

Ranked 9^th in the world by the WBA, Coyle peppered Ortiz with a consistent jab and straight hands. The shorter Ortiz attempted to close the gap and bully Coyle but was mostly unsuccessful. When the fight was fought in close range, Coyle landed clean shots and blocked most of what was coming back his way.

Quickly tiring and visibly frustrated, Ortiz threw hard hooks to Coyle’s head but didn’t land anything of note. In the final round, Coyle finished strong and hurt Ortiz with a left hook, but the game veteran finished the fight on his feet.

Scores were 80-72 and 79-73 twice for Coyle, a Northern Ireland native who trains out of Pinellas Park, FL.

With the victory, Coyle improves to 17-0 (7 KO’s). Ortiz, who’s faced countless top-rated opponents, slips to 37-32 with 18 KO’s.

“Ortiz was a very rough and tough veteran, but Connor dominated him from bell to bell,” said Jody Caliguire of Fire Fist Boxing Promotions. “It was good to see Connor stay busy as we are anticipating a significant fight in the very near future.”

2012 Olympic Bronze Medalist Yamaguchi “The Problem” Falcao picked up an entertaining eight round victory over ultra-rugged Argentine Abel Nicolas Adriel.

Falcao, a native of Brazil who resides in Florida, got off to a fast start and buzzed Adriel in the opening round. The skilled southpaw controlled the four rounds, displaying excellent speed and pure boxing skills while also mixing in a bit of showmanship.

Adriel picked up the pace in the second half of the fight and had his moments, but Falcao’s consistent work earned him a unanimous decision.

Falcao’s record improves to 22-1-1 with 9 knockouts. Adriel, who displayed a great chin and incredible will, slips to 26-25-3 with 5 KO’s.

“This was the perfect tune up fight for Yama,” said Caliguire. “He’s working on a lot of things with (head trainer) Jim McLaughlin and Adriel made him work. The last 5 years, Yama’s been calling for the best at 160 and now at 168 so its only up from here.”

Coyle powered past a very tricky foe in Antonio Todd. As seen on Bally Sports Network, the Florida based Irishman’s aggressive style earned him a well-deserved split decision victory.

The 32-year-old Coyle is 16-0 with 7 wins by knockout and is rated #13 by the World Boxing Association.

Super Middleweight boogeyman Yamaguchi Falcao was forced to withdraw from his June 25 fight in Georgia after suffering a left elbow injury in training camp. The Florida-based Brazilian’s reiterated his willingness to face one of the top super middleweights anywhere in the world.

Broadcast live on the Bally Sports Network, Coyle controlled the early rounds by outworking Todd. Coyle found a home for crisp right hands and left hooks but Todd displayed a solid chin.

Todd, who was coming off a career best victory against top 10 rated Hugo Centeno in January, provided a tough test for Coyle and had his moments during this entertaining ten round contest. Fighting out of the Philly Shell defensive style, Todd worked behind a solid jab and his movement created challenges for Coyle.

In the tenth round, Todd buzzed Coyle with a good shot and looked for the knockout but Coyle recovered and battled back. After the final bell, the crowd provided a round of applause for both fighters.

Judge Alexander Levin’s scorecard of 96-94 for Todd was overruled by tallies of 97-93 and 96-94 in favor of Coyle.

“Todd was an awkward fighter but that’s what we were expecting,” said Coyle, who hails from Derry, Ireland and fights out of Pinellas Park, FL. “This fight was a great experience against an opponent with a tricky style. He’d give a lot of good fighters trouble with his movement and ring smarts. With that said, I controlled the early rounds and pressed the fight as much as I could. I thought for sure we won the fight seven rounds to three or maybe 6-4 so the (scorecard for Todd) really surprised me.”

Splitting time between his native Northern Ireland and Florida, Coyle’s amassed a perfect 15-0 record with 7 wins by knockout. On February 19, Coyle broke down once-beaten Rodrigo Rodrigues en route to a fifth round stoppage.

Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, Todd’s record is a deceptive 13-5 with 7 wins by KO. During the last year and a half, he’s amassed an impressive 6-1-1 record. Todd earned his biggest win to date on January 22, scoring a ten round majority decision over longtime contender Hugo Centeno Jr.

Melrose, MA (February 22, 2022) – Fire Fist Boxing Promotions’ Yamaguchi Falcao and Connor “The Kid” Coyle both scored knockouts Saturday, February 19 at Memorial Hall in Melrose, MA.

Headlining a card promoted by Reyes Boxing Promotions, Falcao captured the WBC Latino Super Middleweight title via second round knockout of Fernando Ezequiel Farias.

Fighting out of his signature southpaw stance, Falcao was aggressive from the opening bell. The 2012 Olympic Bronze medalist found a home early for his jab, hook and left cross. A minute into the second, Falcao hurt Farias with a crisp left uppercut that sent him reeling towards the ropes. Moments later, Falcao put Farias down for the count with a hard left hook.

Time of stoppage was 1:21.

Falcao, who is from Brazil and currently resides in Florida, improves to 20-1-1 with 9 KO’s. Farias slips to 11-2-2 (4 KO’s).

In the co-featured bout of the evening, undefeated middleweight Connor “The Kid” Coyle of Derry, Northern Ireland kept his perfect record intact by stopping Rodrigo Rodrigues after five rounds.

Coyle, who had a significant height and reach advantage, backed Rodrigues up with many of his punches. Rodrigues looked to counter with left hooks and did land a few decent shots but it was mostly one way traffic. Coyle broke down Rodrigues with jabs and quick multi-punch combinations that shook the Brazilian up. Following a dominant fifth round where Rodrigues was battered and bloodied, his corner threw in the towel.

Coyle is now 15-0 with 7 KO’s and retained his ABF Continental Americas Middleweight title. Rodrigues slips to 8-2 (7 KO’s).

The 31-year-old was slated to face rugged contender Guido Nicolas Pitto of Argentina but he was forced to withdraw.

Since suffering his only career defeat, Lopes, 8-1 (7 KO’s) has been in the gym working on his craft. Team Lopes claims their boxer will be a totally different fighter than the one previously seen since he’ll be competing as a full-fledged middleweight rather than a weight drained welterweight.

St. Petersburg, FL (January 3, 2022) – Undefeated middleweight Connor “The Kid” Coyle is back in the US and preparing for a big 2022.

A perfect 14-0 as a pro, Coyle trains under Florida Boxing Hall of Famer Jim McLaughlin in St. Petersburg but was in his native Northern Ireland the last two years due to Covid restrictions. Although he trained and ran regularly back home, a return stateside was necessary to get him to the next level.

“It feels great to be back with my team in St Petersburg,” said Coyle, who is married and has a daughter. “I’ve been training alongside Yamaguchi Falcao who is a world class talent and works extremely hard. We’re going to push each other throughout camp. Being away from home and strictly focused on boxing is what gets me into beast mode!”

Coyle’s 2022 begins February 19 against ultra-tough Guido Nicolas Pitto in an eight round contest. Originally from Argentina but living in Spain, Pitto’s 27-9-2 with 8 wins by KO. He’s defeated world rated contender Jack Culcay (14-0) and Reda Zam Zam (27-1) while also battling Magomed Madiev (11-0) to a draw. Coyle will be the eighth unbeaten foe Pitto’s faced.

The 10-round main event was split into almost two different fights: Delgadillo effectively jabbed his way to take the early rounds, and he registered a somewhat questionable knockdown in the sixth round. Bornea successfully closed the distance after three rounds, sitting in the pocket and becoming more aggressive as the fight went on.

Bornea won a split decision (96-93 X 2 & 93-96) to become the new NABF super flyweight champion.

In the co-featured event, Northern Ireland middleweight Connor “The Kid” Coyle improved his record to 12-0 (5 KOs), needing only three minutes to take care of business. Coyle connected on a crisp combination at the end of round one, hurting his Mexican opponent, Miguel Dumas (11-3, 8 KOs). ALPINE, Calif. (August 26, 2019) – All three undefeated fighters showcased last Saturday night on another installment of RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS® — Irish middleweight
Connor “The Kid Coyle, Mexican super welterweight Santiago “Somer” Dominguez and Colombian super bantamweight Brandon Valdes – each won in relatively easy fashion, fighting outdoors at Viejas Casino and Resort in Alpine, California.

The 29-year-old Coyle (11-0, 4 KOs) dropped Ramirez (21-5-2, 4 KOs) in the opening round, but the Irishman was penalized a point for pushing his opponent to the canvas. Coyle overwhelmed Ramirez when he came out of his corner for the second round forcing the pressure and he never let up. The relentless Coyle unleashed a barrage of unanswered punches, dropping Ramirez once again, when suddenly a white towel came flying out of Ramirez’ corner, signifying his cornermen had seen enough.

Coyle, fighting out of Derry, Northern Ireland, improved to 11-0 overall as a pro, winning all nine of his fights in the United States, and 2-0 fighting under of the RJJ Boxing banner.

Ramirez, who was a longtime sparring partner for Floyd Mayweather, Jr., fought for the first time since last November. He entered the ring riding a six-fight win streak, coming out on top in 10 of his last 11 fights.

Dominguez (17-0, 13 KOs), now living in Ft. Worth, TX, ripped two vicious left hooks to the body of Fabian Lyimo (23-10-2, 15 KOs), of Tanzania, who took a knee and failed to beat the 10-count in the second round of the co-featured event.

Coyle displayed his vast boxing skills, mixing in some pop, en route to arguably the most impressive victory of his young career.

A legacy prizefighter, Coyle’s great grand-father and great-uncle, both named Spider Kelly and out of Derry, were both British Empire and Commonwealth featherweight champions, 16 years apart. They had 256 combined bouts between 1928 and 1962.

The eight-round co-featured event between unbeaten Fort Lauderdale, FL lightweight Antonio “Bang” Williams (9-0-1, 4 KOs) and Texan Eduardo “Thunder” Garza (13-2-1, 7 KOs) was a back-and-forth match that ended in an eight-round split draw.

Houston welterweight Jerrico “Hands of Stone” Walton (13-0, 7 KOs) kept his perfect record intact with an eight-round unanimous decision victory over his tough Mexican opponent, Jesus Zatuetta Anaya (6-4-1, 4 KOs).

The opening FIGHT PASS bout was a shutout as world-rated Rosalinda Rodriguez (10-0, 2 KOs), of Miami, out-classed Hungarian bantamweight Martina Morgasz (6-41, 4 KOs) won all six rounds on each of the three judges’ scores cards for a one-sided decision.

On off-FIGHT Pass card, Japanese junior featherweight Kastsuma “El Cuete Japonecito” Akitsugi (2-0, 1 KOs), fighting out of Hollywood, California, had an easy time against Ricard Lucio Galvan (0-2), of Belgium, taking a four-round unanimous decision in an International match-up.

Shurretta Metcalf (5-4-1, 2 KOs), of Dallas, won a four-round unanimous decision over Las Vegas bantamweight Mikayla “MK Ultra” Nebel (2-7).

Connor “The Kid” Coyle, will make his Las Vegas debut in the 8-round main event on Thursday night, April 25, at Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall in Las Vegas.

Coyle (9-0, 3 KOs), who travels from Derry, Northern Ireland to America to finish training camp for every fight, headlined an RJJ Boxing on FIGHT PASS main event fight this past February in Saint Petersburg, Florida. His impressive eight-round decision over 19-4 Travis Scott led to RJJ Boxing signing its first Irish fighter. Coyle is matched against Robert Burwell (8-2, 3 KOs), fighting out of Orlando (FL)

Coyle vs. Burwell, promoted by Roy Jones Jr. RJJ Boxing, will headline a card to be streamed live on UFC FIGHT PASS, starting at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT. The show will be the fifth under a new agreement between Coyle’s, RJJ Boxing, and FIGHT PASS, to live stream up to 72 professional boxing events over the next three years.

LAS VEGAS (March 12, 2019) – Roy Jones, Jr. (RJJ) Boxing Promotions has announced the signing of undefeated Irish middleweight prospect Connor Coyle (9-0, 3 KOs) to an exclusive, long-term promotional contract.

Fighting out of Derry, Northern Ireland, the 28-year-old Coyle has boxing flowing through his veins. His great-grandfather and uncle, both named Spider Kelly, each became British Empire and Commonwealth champions.

Fighting for the first time in the main event, Coyle is coming off his most impressive performance as a professional, nearly pitching a shutout (80-70, 80-70, 79-71) in an eight-round unanimous decision victory over Travis Scott (19-5, 5 KOs) this past February 16, at historic Saint Petersburg (FL) Coliseum. The show was co-promoted by RJJ Boxing and Rite Hook Promotions and streamed live on UFC FIGHT PASS® as part of a new agreement between RJJ Boxing and FIGHT PASS, to live stream up to 72 professional boxing events during the next three years.

During the majority of his 3 ½-year pro boxing career, Coyle has flown back-and-forth over the Atlantic Ocean from his native country to Florida in order to finish his training with Jim McLaughlin. Coyle begins training for his fights back home for four weeks with his coach from the amateurs. He then travels to Saint Petersburg for a 4 to 6-week training camp under McLaughlin’s guidance.

“I really miss my daughter when I’m away from home,” Coyle admitted, “but it’s also good to get away from family and any distractions to solely focus on getting in top shape. I’m used to the cultural differences between home and Florida. I come to the U.S. for one thing, training for my fight.

“I was mostly a boxer as an amateur but, as a pro, I’ve added more power and speed. I’m still a boxer, but I can fight when I need to, and I adapt in the ring to what my opponent is doing. This is going to be a big year for me!”

Headlining the telecast is an eight round middleweight showdown between Coyle and Travis “Dirty Red” Scott.

Splitting time between his native Ireland and St. Petersburg, FL, Coyle’s a perfect 8-0 with 3 wins by knockout. He’s become a big draw in the Tampa-St Pete area and most recently scored a sixth round TKO of Danny Pastrana. The talented Coyle has been featured as a prospect to watch out for by media members from both sides of the pond.

The wildly popular Reyes Jr. is 8-0 with 6 KO’s. An athletic boxer-puncher, Reyes is coming off a third round TKO of Juan Garces last October and at 22-years-old, continues to improve rapidly.

Tatijewski, who is fighting for the first time in the United States, is 8-0 and has 7 wins by way of knockout. He’s confident of making a major splash by taking out Reyes in front of millions of viewers on UFC Fight Pass.

Junior welterweight Willian “Baby Face” Silva of Plant City, FL by way of Sao Paolo, Brazil challenges rugged Argentinian Juan Ramon Solis in a ten rounder.

Silva, who has an excellent 26-2 professional ledger and 15 wins by knockout, scored a dominant 9th round TKO over Jose Forero last October. After fighting most of his career at lightweight, Silva’s sights are set on the best at 140 pounds but he must first get past Solis.

Living and fighting out of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Solis is 25-13 with 9 KO’s. The 36-year-old’s faced many top fighters including world champion Robert Easter, contenders Sergio Thompson and Diego Silva along with unbeaten Saul Rodriguez among others.
