SATURDAY: Francesco Grandelli-Stefan Voda Featherweight Battle to Stream LIVE & Exclusively on ESPN+

(Dec. 12, 2023) — Italian featherweight Francesco Grandelli returns against unbeaten Belgian Stefan Voda in the 12-round main event this Saturday, Dec. 16 at Palasport Le Cupole in Turin, Italy. 

In the eight-round junior welterweight co-feature, Spanish contender Sandor Martin takes on Belgium’s Mohamed El Marcouchi.

Grandelli-Voda, Martin-Marcouchi and additional undercard bouts will stream live and exclusively in the U.S. on ESPN+ at 2:30 p.m. ET/11:30 a.m. PT.

Grandelli (17-2-2, 3 KOs) began his pro career with a decision win over Marco Iuculano in May 2015. He experienced an early draw in his fourth fight and suffered his first loss in his sixth fight before scoring 11 straight wins ahead of a split draw against Mauro Forte. Following a decision win over Kane Baker, Grandelli suffered a first-round stoppage loss in a rematch with Forte in May. He bounced back with a six-round decision win over Emiliano Salvini in July. Voda (14-0, 5 KOs) is a five-year pro who has spent his entire pro career fighting in his homeland. The unbeaten 30-year-old returns after a unanimous decision win against Maicol Velazco in April.

Martin (41-3, 14 KOs) authored the 2021 Upset of the Year when he stunned Mikey Garcia by majority decision and sent the four-weight world champion into retirement. Martin, who hails from Barcelona, Spain, followed up the Garcia triumph with a 10-round unanimous decision over Jose Felix last April. He suffered a split decision loss against Teofimo Lopez last December, but bounced back with a sixth-round knockout win against Arblin Kaba in July. El Marcouchi (29-3, 12 KOs) heads to this contest following a second-round knockout against Giorgi Gviniashvili in May.

  • Maxim Prodan (21-2-1, 16 KOs) will fight in an eight-round welterweight clash against Argentina’s Miguel Cesario Antin (20-12-1, 8 KO). Prodan, a Ukrainian-born warrior residing in Italy, is coming off a second-round knockout win over Mirko Marchetti in March.
     
  • Italian southpaw Biagio Grimaldi (5-1, 3 KOs) looks to avenge his defeat against Darwin El Badaouy (2-2-1, 1 KO) in an eight-round lightweight rematch. Badaouy defeated Grimaldi via decision in March.

Mauro Forte Knocks Out Grandelli in 1st

Mauro Forte stopped Francesco Grandelli in the opening round of their featherweight bout in Tivoli, Italy.

Forte ducked and uncorked a vicious overhand left that drilled Grandelli right on the jaw and put him on the seat of his pants. Grandelli got to his feet but was deemed unable to continue at 2:31.

Forte is 18-0-2 with eigt knockouts. Grandelli is 16-2-2.

Stephanie Silva won a 10-round unanimous decision over Mailys Gangloff in a super flyweight bout.

Silva won by scores of 97-93 and 96-94 twice and is now 8-0. Gangloff is 8-4.

Johanna Wonyou won a 10-round unanimous decision over Simona Salvatori in a super bantamweight bout.

Wonyou won by scores 100-90, 99-91 and 98-92 and is now 9-0. Salvatori is 8-1.

Armando Casamonica stopped Francesco Acatullo in round of their of their eight-round super bantamweight bout.

In round two, Casamonica hurt Acatullo with a hard right hand. Axatullo ate four hard shots and was down on the canvas. Casamonica was on top of Acatullo and landed a serious flurry of punches and the fight was stopped upon a second knockdown at 1:13.

Casamonica is 10-0 with two knockouts. Acatullo is 13-12-3.




FRIDAY: Mauro Forte-Francesco Grandelli Featherweight Rematch to Stream LIVE and Exclusively in the U.S. on ESPN+

(May 3, 2023) – Undefeated Italian southpaw Mauro Forte will look to avenge his draw against Francesco Grandelli in a 12-round rematch for the vacant European featherweight title this Friday, May 5 at the PalaSport Tivoli in Tivoli, Italy.

ForteGrandelli II and undercard bouts will stream live and exclusively in the U.S. on ESPN+ starting at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT.

Forte (17-0-2, 7 KOs) is a 24-year-old contender who made his pro debut in April 2016 with a decision victory over Jacopo Lusci. In his second fight, just three months later, he fought to a split draw against Vincent Eroe. Forte then embarked on a 15-fight win streak before meeting Grandelli for the first time in November 2021. Grandelli (16-1-2, 3 KOs) is a 28-year-old who got his start in the paid ranks with a decision win over Marco Iuculano in May 2015. He experienced an early draw in his fourth fight and suffered his first loss in his sixth fight before scoring 11 straight wins ahead of his first battle with Forte. Their initial encounter ended in a split draw after 12 closely contested rounds, and the two are ready to settle unfinished business.

  • Undefeated junior bantamweight Stephanie Silva (7-0) makes her 2023 debut in a scheduled 10-round clash against France’s Mailys Gangloff (8-3, 2 KOs). Silva is a 27-year-old Italian contender who is coming off a 10-round decision win over Ewelina Pekalska last October. 
     
  • In a battle of undefeated bantamweights, Italy’s Simona Salvatori (8-0, 2 KOs) and France’s Johanna Wonyou (8-0, 2 KOs) will collide in a 10-round battle. Salvatori is coming off a unanimous decision win against Bethy Franco last October, and Wonyou is coming off a fourth-round TKO victory over Egine Kayange in March.
     
  • Armando Casamonica (9-0, 1 KO) will put his undefeated record on the line in an eight-round junior welterweight fight against Francesco Acatullo (13-11-3, 1 KO).

Turchi decisions Grisunins

Fabio Turchi won a 10-round unanimous decision over Nikolajs Grisunins in a cruiserweight bout at Allianz Cloud in Milan, Italy.

Turchi, 199 1/2 lbs of Italy won by scores of 99-91, 98-92 and 100-90 and is now 18-1. Grisunins, 199 lbs is 12-2-1.

Dario Morello won a eight-round unanimous decision over Nestor Maradiago in a welterweight bout.

Morello, 149 lbs is 16-1. Maradiago, 146 1/2 lbs is 8-9-1.

Francesco Grandelli won a unanimous decision over Cristian Narvaez in a six-round featherweight bout.

Grandelli, 130 lbs is 14-1-1. Narvaez, 135 1/2 lbs is 16-23-5.

Ivan Zucco beat up Pavel Zgurean over three-rounds and the bout was stopped at the beginning of round four of their scheduled six-round super middleweight bout.

Zucco, 171 lbs of Italy is 12-0 with 10 knockouts. Zgurean, 170 lbs is 7-5.

Mirko Natalizi remained undefeated with a stoppage at the beginning of round four over Frane Radnic in a super welterweight bout.

In round one, Natalizi dropped Radnic with a straight right hand. In round two, Natalizi sent Radnic down for a 2nd time. In round three, Natalizi dropped Radnice with a right hand. The fight was stopped at the beginning of round four.

Natalizi, 159 lbs is 8-0 with five knockouts. Radnic, 164 1/2 lbs is 11-19.
