In a six-round bout, Daiyann Butt (14-2, 7 KOs) of Philadelphia battles Michael Crain (5-6-2, 1 KO) in a junior welterweight fight.

In four-round bouts, Tahmir Smalls (9-0, 6 KOs) of Philadelphia takes on Andres Viera (11-5, 8 KOs) of Montevideo, Uruguay in a welterweight clash.

Oluwafemi Oyeleye (12-0, 6 KOs) of Los Angeles takes on former world title challenger Javier Maciel (34-20, 23 KOs) of Buenos Aries, Argentina in a junior middleweight fight.

Ezri Turner of Wilmington, DE will make his pro debut against Milton Volter (0-1) of Bronx, NY in a super middleweight fight.

Allen Otto (1-0, 1 KO) of Pennsauken, NJ fights Timothy Tyler (1-3, 1 KO) Camden, NJ in a junior middleweight bout.

Joshua Jones (6-0-1, 3 KOs) of Philadelphia takes on Carlos Rocha (3-0, 2 KOs) of Sao Paulo, Brazil in a lightweight fight.

John Ryder scored the biggest win of his career with a 12-round split decision over former middleweight beltholder Daniel Jacobs in a super middleweight fight at Alexandra Palace in London, England.

Jacobs controlled the first half of the fight with is boxing. Ryder came on strong over the final half of the contest and won most of the inside battles by landing small combinations to the head.

Jacobs landed 123 of 651 punches; Ryder was 135 of 448.

Ryder, 167 lbs of Islington, ENG won two cards 115-113 and Jacobs took a card 115-113.

Ryder is now 31-5. Jacobs, 166.9 lbs of Brooklyn, NY is 37-4.

Fisher Decisions Enguema

Johnny Fisher went the distance for the first time and won a six-round decision over Gabriel Enguema in a heavyweight bout.

In round one, Fisher was cut over his left eye.

Fisher landed 66 of 319 punches; Enguema was 36 of 158.

Fisher, 237 lbs of Romford, ENG, sold over 2,600 tickets for the fight, and won by score of 59-55 and is now 5-0. Enguema, 231.7 lbs of Madrid, SPA is 10-12.

Cash Survives Two Knockdowns; Decisions Madiev

Felix Cash had to get off the deck twice and a point deduction, but he was able to overcome those and won a razor thin 10-round unanimous decision over Magomed Madiev in a battle of undefeated middleweights.

In round two, Madiev dropped Cash with a left hook.

In round 10, Madiev dropped Cash again with a left Cash was bleeding over his left eye. Later in the round, Cash was deducted a point for holding. In between all of that, Cash was able to bank rounds and get the victory by scores of 95-92 twice and 94-93.

Cash landed 118 of 519 punches; Madiev was 131 of 417.

Cash, 159.6 lbs of Workingham, ENG is now 15-0. Madiev, 159.1 lbs of Russia is 15-1-2.

Scotney Decisions Guanini

Ellie Scotney remained undefeated with a 10-round unanimous decision over Jorgelina Guanini in a super bantamweight fight.

Scotney was cut over her left eye in round three from a clash of heads.

In round 10, Scotney was deducted a point for an elbow.

Scotney, 121.2 lbs of Catford, ENG won by scores of 96-94 twice and 95-94 and is now 4-0. Guanini, 119.6 lbs of Buenos Aries, ARG is 9-4-2.

Williams Stops Maciel in 6

Austin Williams remained undefeated with a 6th round stoppage over Javier Maciel in a scheduled eight-round middleweight fight

In round one, Williams dropped Maciel with a left on the ropes.

In round six, Williams dropped Maciel with a straight left to the body. Seconds later, he dropped him again with a combination to the body. Williams ended things with some more hard body work and the fight was stopped at 1:02.

Williams, 161.4 lbs of Houston, TX is now 10-0 with eight knockouts. Maciel, 166.3 lbs of Buenos Aries, ARG is 33-16.

Hopey Price remained undefeated with a 4th round stoppage over Ricardo Roman in a super bantamweight contest.

In round one, Price dropped Ramon with a left hand. In round two Ramon’s face started to swell up badly.

In round four, the onslaught continued as Price dropped Roman with another left. Price had Roman in trouble in the corner and the bout was stopped at 1:09.

Price, 125 lbs of Leeds, ENG is 7-0 with three knockouts. Roman, 124.6 lbs of Durno, MEX is 14-13.

Pattinson, 150.2 lbs of Ashtington, ENG won by a 60-54 score and is now 3-0. Vazem, 150.9 lbs of Russia is 9-22.

Shiloh DeFreitas remained undefeated with a six-round decision over Alexey Tukhtarov in a welterweight bout.

DeFreitas, 143.6 lbs of London, ENG won by a 60-54 score and is now 3-0. Tukhtarov, 143.6 lbs of Russia is 4-24-6.

Atlanta, GA – September 29, 2019 — On Saturday, September 28 at Buckhead Theater in Atlanta, World Boxing Association Fedalatin Champion Carlos Monroe, in his biggest fight “to date,” successfully defended former world title challenger Javier Francisco Maciel.

Proceeds from the event went to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta.

Carlos Monroe (17-0, 13 KOs) was born in Chicago and moved to Atlanta age 3. As an amateur he won NINE consecutive Georgia State Golden Gloves tournaments. He also was two-time Florida State Golden Gloves champion. “Every year I competed n the state Golden Gloves, I won,” stated Carlos. In the 2015 Olympic trials, even though Carlos won his final bout, he was unable to fight further due to a major cut from an accidental head butt.

Monroe, coached by trainer of world champions Stacie McKinley, made his professional debut on December 16, 2017 and had ten fights in 2018, and this will be his sixth this year. “This is my biggest fight, to date,” said Carlos. “ I have been training in Pompano Beach, Florida, with a lot of sparring partners with different styles, so I am good about making adjustments on the fly. I don’t feel any threats in the ring. Javier is a game opponent and fought a few big names. He comes forward and is a pressure fighter, and I like that.” Monroe likes to work the body and “most of my stoppages have come from body shots.” Carlos lives about twenty minutes outside of Atlanta and will have many family and friends at the fight.

“Carlos is very smart, listens well and is a hard worker,” said McKinley, who has trained Mike Tyson and numerous middleweight world champions. “He has unusual hand speed, and power at the same time. This fight was a step up for him and after that, there will be another step up. I have big plans for him. He leaves home and comes here for to train, has a fight, goes home for week then comes back for another six to eight weeks. He is not just training boxing, he is living boxing and that’s what you need to do to become great. He has a young daughter now and a wonderful promoter, Judy Starkey, who has invested a lot in Carlos to provide for him what he needs to be successful.”

Javier Francisco Maciel (33-9, 23 KOs) from Buenos Aires, Argentina, has fought for the World Boxing Association world middleweight championship and has won numerous regional titles. Maciel has fought world champion Dmitry Pirog and world title challengers Willie Monroe Jr., Francisco Antonio Mora.

Jamal James stopped Mahonry Montes in round two of a scheduled ten-round welterweight bout at the Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

In round two, James landed a perfect left to the body that had Montes rolling in pain on the canvas and the fight was over at 2:58.

James, 145 lbs of Minneapolis, MN is 24-1 with 11 knockouts. Montes, 147 lbs of Los Mochis, MEX is 35-8-1.

“I came out here to make a statement and I’m even happier to be able to do it right here at home,” said James. “The support in Minnesota is amazing and it gave me the extra motivation to get the job done in spectacular fashion. Everyone knows I attack the body and tonight I was able to use it to get the finish”

In a battle of former world title challengers, Willie Monroe, Jr. won a 10-round unanimous decision over Javier Maciel.

Monroe, 161 3/4 lbs of Rochester, NY won by scores of 100-90 twice and 99-91 ,and is now 23-3. Maciel, 161 3/4 lbs of Argentina is 33-7.

In one of the weirdest occurrences in boxing, heavyweight Curtis Harper simply walked out of the ring just after the bell sounded for his bout with Efe Ajagba.

When the bell rang, Harper walked out of the ring like it was no big deal, and the official result was a disqualification win for Ajagba after one second.

Ajagba is now 6-0. Harper is 13-6.

Jeison Rosario won a ten-round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Jamontay Clrk in a super welterweight bout.

In round three, Rosario landed a big right hand that knocked Clark down and out of the ring. Clark beat the count. Rosario continued to land crush blows that had Clark bleeding from his nose and mouth. Rosario continued to pound away on Clark until the final bell.

Rosario of the Dominican Republic won by scores of 99-90, 98-91 and 97-92 to raise his mark to 16-1-1. Clark of Cincinnati, OH is 13-1.

Eimantas Stanionis won an eight-round unanimous decision over Levan Ghvamichava in a welterweight bout.

Stanionis, 149 lbs of Lithunania won by scores of 80-72 and 79-73 twice, and is now 7-0. Ghvamichva, 149 lbs of the Republic of Georgia is 18-4-1.

Sebastian Fundora stopped Antnio Urista in round four of their scheduled eight-round junior middleweight bou.

In round three, Urista began to bleed from the nose. In round four, the towering 6’6″ Fundora continued continued the beatdown, and the fight was stopped at 2:23.

Fundora, 154 lbs of Cochella, CA is 10-0 with six knockouts. Urista, 155 lbs of Lansing, MI is 10-3.

Leon Lawson III won a six-round unanimous decision over Brandon Adams in a junior middleweight bout.

Lawson, 152 3/4 lbs won by scores of 60-54 on all cards, and is now 8-0. Adams, 151 3/4 lbs of Oakland, CA is 4-7-1.

Efetober Apochi stopped Aaron Chavers in the 1st round of their scheduled six-round cruiserweight bout.

Apochi dominated and battered Chavers all over the ring and the fight wa stopped at 2:24.

Apochi of Houston, TX is 5-0 with five knockouts. Chavers of Oklahoma City is 8-6-1.

Antonio Russell needed just 78 seconds to dispose of Nick Otieno in their scheduled six-round super bantamweight bout.

Russell landed a left hand that sent Otieno down on his back for the ten count.

Russell, 118 1/2 lbs of Washington, DC is 12-0 with 10 knockouts. Otieno, 121 1/2 lbs of Nairobi, Kenya is 31-15.

Marvin Sonsona evened the score with Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. by scoring a 10 round Featherweight bout.

Sonsona dropped Vazquez early in round one from a straight left hand. The fight was filled with fouls and lacked action throughout the bout.

Sonsona won by scores of 96-92 twice while Vazquez took a card 96-92.

Sonsona, 125 3/4 lbs of the Philippines is now 19-1. Vazquez, 125 1/2 lbs is now 23-4-1.

Javier Maciel scored a 10-round majority decision over Jorge Melendez in a Jr. Middleweight bout.

Maciel came out aggressive as advertised. Melendez got into the fight with solid round’s two and three. Round four proved to be a disaster ans Melendez was docked a point for low blows and then was put on the canvas from a hard right. Melendez had a nice bounce back round five as he landed some solid combinations. Melendez continued to get back into the fight with power shots.

Maciel started taking control again in round’s seven, eight and nine as he forced the action. The two battled with power punches being thrown by both.

Maciel, 154 lbs of Argentina won by scores of 97-91, 96-92 and 94-94 and is now 29-3. Melendez, 153 lbs of Puerto Rico is now 28-4-1.

Former world title challenger Andy Lee was down but not out and came back to score a stunning 5th round stoppage over John Jackson in a scheduled 10-round Jr. Middleweight.

Jackson floored Lee in round one from a powerful right hook. Jackson continued to beat Lee to the punch and landed three consecutive rights to the head in round five.

In the fifth round, the two exchanged on the ropes. Lee was buckled and then out of nowhere he landed a perfect right uppercut and Jackson was knocked cold and the fight was stopped immediately at 1:07.

Lee, 154 lbs of Ireland is now 33-2 with 23 knockouts. Jackson, 152 lbs of the Virgin Islands is now 18-2.

Superstar in the making, Felix Verdejo scored a 1st rouns stoppage over Engelberto Valenzuea in a scheduled six round Lightweight bout.

Verdejo scored one knock down and continued the assault until the bout was stopped at 1:17 of round one.

Verdejo, 134 1/2 lbs is 13-0 with 10 knockouts. Valenzuela, 134 1/2 lbs is now 8-2.

Jose Lopez scored a 8-round unanimous decision over Raul Hidalgo in a Super Bantamweight bout.

Lopez, 121 1/4 lbs won by scores of 80-72 twice and 79-73 and is now 14-0. Hidalgo, 122 1/4 lbs is now 21-11.

Jose Pedraza made quick work of Arturo Uruzquieta by scoring a 1st round stoppage in a scheduled 6-round Lightweight bout.

Pedraza landed hard effective punches throughout the short contest and eventually sent Uruzquieta to the deck. Upon getting to his feet, the fight was stopped at 2:19 of round one.

Pedraza, 132 1/2 lbs is now 17-0 with 11 knockouts. Uruzquieta, 131 3/4 lbs is now 15-6

Willie Nelson scored a 1st round stoppage over Darryl Cunningham in a scheduled 8-round Jr. Middleweight bout.

Nelson dropped Cunningham with a hard right. He scored a 2nd knockdown with a barrage of punches. Cunningham goto to his feet but was very unsteady. The ringside doctor called a halt to the action at 2:43 of round.

Nelson, 157 lbs is now 22-1-1 with 13 knockouts. Cunningham, 156 1/2 lbs is now 29-7.

Jantony Ortiz made a successful pro debut by scoring a 1st round stoppage over Elio Ruiz in a scheduled 4-round Super Flyweight fight.

The time was was 2:45 of round one for Ortiz, 113 1/2 lbs of Puerto Rico. Ruiz, 114 1/2 lbs is now 1-5.
