LIVE BOXING: Munguia vs. Allotey Undercard

JAIME MUNGUIA VS. PATRICK ALLOTEY FINAL PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

LOS ANGELES (Sept. 12, 2019): Jaime Munguia (33-0, 26 KOs) of Tijuana, Mexico and African warrior Patrick Allotey (40-3, 30 KOs) hosted their final press conference today at Dignity Health Sports Park ahead of their 12-round fight for the WBO Junior Middleweight World Title. The event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 14 at the aforementioned Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif. and will be streamed live on DAZN.

Undercard fighters such as Ryan “Kingry” Garcia (18-0, 15 KOs), Avery “A-Plus” Sparrow (10-1, 3 KOs), and Franchon “The Heavy-Hitting Diva” Crews-Dezurn (5-1, 2 KOs) also participated in the event.

Below is what some of today’s participants had to say at the presser.

JAIME MUNGUIA, WBO Junior Middleweight Champion:

“I feel very honored and happy to be representing my country on this important date. I feel ready and I’m prepared to deliver everyone a great show that is worthy of the date of Sept. 14. I had a great preparation, perhaps one of my best training camps, and I want to thank Erik Morales for everything he’s been showing me along with Fernando as well. I hope that this Saturday you see a Jaime Munguia that’s totally different. I’m ready, I’m going to give it my everything.”

PATRICK ALLOTEY, Junior Middleweight Contender:

“I feel good. I feel good for this Saturday because I prepared for this fight. When I heard the rumors about this fight, I thought wow, this fight needs to happen, I need to be a world champion too. Like Oscar said, in Ghana we have great fighters, and I’m very happy to become one of them. I know Munguia is a very good fighter and he has power like I do, and I know come Saturday, Munguia is coming to throw his big shots and he thinks he can knock Patrick Allotey out. But no, because I’m also a great fighter and also have power like he does. I’m coming to fight and win. So I think on Saturday it will be a very good fight. I think the best man will win.”

RYAN GARCIA. Lightweight Contender:

“This Saturday, I just plan to show all my improvements in the ring. [Avery] claims that he has a lot of experience. He has 11 fights – I don’t know how much experience you can have with that. I was in amateurs maybe even longer than him. I have just as much experience, and I’ve been working in the gym to get better and better every single day. I know there’s a lot of pressure on me, a lot of hype, and I know the things people say about me. The only thing I look to do is to become the best fighter I can be. This Saturday, stay tuned, it’s going to be a good one, I’m looking to prove myself and earn that respect in the ring.”

“A lot of people like to focus on my Instagram, you don’t hear me talk about it, everybody else just talks about it. It just connects me to my fans, and why wouldn’t I want to connect to the people who support me?”

AVERY SPARROW, Super Featherweight Contender:

“I naturally weigh 126 pounds, I can get here easy. Unfortunately, we can’t get no fights there, we can’t get no fights at 130. My last fight was at 135 pounds, I dropped him two times, I controlled the whole fight. I felt good, I felt strong, and that was coming off a year layoff. This time, I had a great camp, I’m feeling solid, I got a lot of people backing me, supporting me. This opportunity I’m going to take full advantage of.”

“Ryan Garcia is a great fighter but he’s yet to be proven. When I fought in 2017, which is some years ago, I defeated Jose Lopez, who was Ryan’s last opponent. He’s getting guys that I already beat. He hasn’t really been put in tough. To me, I really don’t see this as a tough fight. He comes in, he only has one plan, to knock everybody out. When he goes the distance, he has a tough time, he has no inside game. It’s a lot of things that Ryan has to prove. There’s not a lot of things that I have to prove. The first 15, 16 fights when you’ve signed with an elite promotional company are favored for you to win. So this opportunity is for Ryan Garcia to show he is who he really says he is. If he beats me, then you can be sure Ryan Garcia is on to do big things. But after I beat him, he still has time to grow, he still has time to be a world champion, but I think he bit off more than he can chew. Come this weekend, the world will see that Ryan Garcia is over with. Ryan Garcia has a lot to prove, and he’s going to have to prove it because I’m coming to fight. You better tune in because it’s going to be an exciting fight and Ryan Garcia is done.”

FRANCHON CREWS-DEZURN, WBC Super Middleweight World Champion:

“I’m just so excited right now, I feel like a kid in a candy store. Sept. 14 is long etched in boxing history for the last decade. That’s when some of the best fights take place. To have the opportunity through Golden Boy to defend the title and to get to present myself to the world as I see it – as a champion not only in boxing, but in life – is a highlight of my life. Everyone is talking about how strong and big my opponent is, but my heart and my intellect is going to be stronger. I fought an undisputed unified champion and was blessed to hold my own, and with a good training camp and people in my corner, having then in my behind me, you guys are going to see the best version of me. I’m not coming to play, I’m coming to slay, I’m coming to entertain. I make my own outfits, I make my own boxing attire. Get ready for a show.”

ERIK MORALES, Trainer to Jaime Munguia:

“It’s an honor to be training the new face of Mexican boxing. And overall, very satisfying to be training a younger boxer who has a lot of desire, a lot of motivation, and has the goal set on being one of the faces of boxing. What we’ve done is to make sure we utilize what he has and exploit those abilities in the ring, and this Saturday, you will see that.”

FERNANDO BELTRAN, CEO of Zanfer Promotions:

“I think it’s going to be a sensational fight. Sept. 16 is sensational and I think it’s a great, great fight. I think Oscar putting fighters with other promoters is what boxing is all about. I congratulate Oscar and I’m very happy to be in this strategic partnership. And, I think Munguia is the next face of boxing – without a doubt.”

OSCAR DE LA HOYA, Chairman and CEO of Golden Boy:

“Sept. 16 has held the biggest boxing events in the history of the sport. You have to go back to Julio Cesar Chavez, some of my fights, Canelo, and now, Jaime Munguia and Ryan Garcia and all these fights here. It’s about staging the best event at the best stadium, but there’s something about Saturday night that’s going to be fireworks.”

“We decided to headline Jaime Munguia, who is a world champion in his own right, he’s a WBO world champion, but we had to put him with a real tough fighter. A real fighter who’s going to come and derail those plans. That’s what boxing’s all about – a coin flip. And when we were looking at his opponent, or the contender, when I talked to Roberto Diaz and Eric Gomez, they mentioned to me a fighter from Ghana. It instantly reminded me of Azumah Nelson, Ike Quartey, it reminded me of tough, tough fighters. We instantly said yes, [Allotey] is the guy because fighters from Ghana – they come to fight, they have passion.”

“We signed [Ryan] in 2016, and he’s been developing as a solid contender, as a fighter we feel can reach the stars. He’s trained by a great trainer in Eddy Reynoso, who is bringing out the best in him. So we feel very excited to see exactly what is yet to come. He’s defeated fighters such as Carlos Morales, Jayson Velez, Jose Lopez, Braulio Rodriguez, and like I said, being trained by Eddy Reynoso is going to take him to that next level that everybody aspires to be at.”

“Women’s boxing is not on the rise. It’s already here. We at Golden Boy Promotions feel proud that we can showcase these talents and continue to open the doors for much bigger and better things for women’s boxing.”

BERNARD HOPKINS, Golden Boy Partner and Future Hall of Famer:

“I believe the women’s match is probably going to really try to take over this entire card. I’m excited to see that. Everybody here has the opportunity to show their talents on a high scale. Enjoy the fight. Look at the talent that’s here, there’s champions and some wannabe champions. Understand that this is what boxing is all about – to bring the best, whether they’re starting at a level before they get to the top level or they’re already there.”

Munguia vs. Allotey is a 12-round fight for the WBO Junior Middleweight Championship presented by Golden Boy in association with Zanfer Promotions. The event is sponsored by Tecate, “THE OFFICIAL BEER OF BOXING,” Hennessy “Never Stop. Never Settle,” and Orange Crush. The event will take place Saturday, Sept. 14 at Dignity Health Sports Park and will be streamed live on DAZN.

LOS ANGELES (Sept. 11 2019): Jaime Munguia (33-0, 26 KOs) of Tijuana, Mexico and African warrior Patrick Allotey (40-3, 30 KOs) hosted their media workout today at Azteca Boxing Club ahead of their 12-round fight for the WBO Junior Middleweight World Title. This battle will take place on Saturday, Sept. 14 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif. and will be streamed live on DAZN.

Undercard fighters such as Ryan “Kingry” Garcia (18-0, 15 KOs), ), Franchon “The Heavy-Hitting Diva” Crews-Dezurn (5-1, 2 KOs), “Ruthless” Romero Duno (20-1, 15 KOs and Ivan “Striker” Delgado (13-2-2, 6 KOs) also participated in the workout.

Below is what some of today’s participants had to say at the event.

JAIME MUNGUIA, WBO Junior Middleweight Champion:
“It’s very important to me that I’m headlining on this special day. It’s a big responsibility but it’s very exciting and I promise to do a good job for all my fans. My trainer, Erick Morales, gets more out of me. I’m training harder and running harder. I’m going to give the best and I hope I can deliver the best to the fans. As a Mexican, I’m representing my country and it’s a huge responsibility but I’m happy to be taking it on. Patrick Allotey is coming ready to fight me and of course, I want to win by knockout. I felt really good during training camp and I hope to give a spectacular show.”

PATRICK ALLOTEY, Junior Middleweight Contender:
“I’m happy to fight because it’s an opportunity to showcase myself. I love Mexico, I love Mexican fighters. I don’t feel worried to be fighting in a card that is so important for Mexican boxing because when I’m fighting with a Mexican, I’m Mexican too. And when the fans are shouting for my opponent, they are shouting to me too. I can’t define my style, because that is something that you decide at the ring. In boxing you don’t need style, you need to think. I’m a well-rounded fighter. I’m ready.”

RYAN GARCIA. Lightweight Contender:
“I feel good because I get another chance to show everyone that I’m a better fighter and that’s all I can ask for. During fight week I get excited and anxious, I just want to be in the ring. I feel like [Avery Sparrow] doesn’t have the power to knock me out but he has the power to make me aware. I have a competitive spirit. I never get angry in the ring, I always make it about boxing. Even my coach says, ‘when you’re outside the ring you’re a boy, and in the ring, you turn into something else.’ No matter what, you have to work hard. My daughter has me invested and I’m trying to be the best boxer I can be. It’s a big day for sports all around the world. There will be many eyes and everyone’s watching. I’m honored to be fighting and will give my best performance. The fans make the fighters and I want to thank all my fans for the support. Without my fans I wouldn’t be in this position. I know what you want to see and I’m going to give it to you.”

FRANCHON CREWS-DEZURN, WBC Super Middleweight World Champion:
“This is such an honor for me to come to LA, which is known as boxing royalty. I’m just happy because they appreciate boxing here. I want to make sure I’m giving a great show for my boxing fans. I’ve been a part of the movement of women in boxing and I’m doing my best to add to it so that women’s boxing can gain more respect. Hopefully [Alejandra Jimenez] did her homework on me. I do this for life and she does it for play. I’m here to fight and we’re going to have fun. I’ve been putting in a lot, I’m proud of myself. I take pride in being a business woman, making sure I fulfill my duties in being a good example for others. I want to make my own lane. I do fashion design, I’m in school. I’ve paid my dues and I’ve put in my work. This is my second fight under Golden Boy and they’ve been a huge support. Having them with me makes me feel like how I see myself in the future. Saturday is a great opportunity for me. It’s such an honor because it’s a big boxing holiday. The stars have aligned, and this is where I’m supposed to be. I want to show all my fans that boxing is life!”

ROMERO DUNO, NABO Lightweight Champion:
“I know this is an event where the majority of the fighters are Mexican, but I’m happy to be a part of the event. I’ll show my best, because I’m confident about myself. I’ve learned from my mistakes in the past. I’ve learned from my mistakes at my last fight and the fans can expect a good fight. About my opponent, I know he hasn’t fought in a while and he wants to give a good show.”

IVAN DELGADO, Lightweight Contender:
“I feel ready for the fight and what it’s going to bring. I’m a determined fighter and for Saturday, the one who makes the less mistakes is going to win.”

ALEJANDRO REYES, Lightweight Contender:
“I’m very excited and ready. I’m content with the work we put in camp and I’m ready to give my fans a good show. This is my pro debut and it’s going to be a good one. When they told me I was fighting on this card, I was a little anxious and excited but I’m here to give the best I can, which is what the public wants, a great fight. I want to thank all the fans for supporting me, they can expect a great show. The Dignity Health Sports Park is known to be a war zone, so I hope to live up to it.”

JOSELITO VELAZQUEZ, Flyweight Contender:
“I’m happy and very excited. I’m glad to fight in such an important city and where so many Mexicans live. That to me is a great responsibility. When I was little, I used to watch these September 14 fights, and I dreamed with the idea to be a part of them one day. For me this fight is important. Each fight is the most important of my career, so I do not relax and I learn from each of them. When Golden Boy told us that we were going to be part of this event we were happy because we were ready for it. I had two months of preparation by the hand of Freddy Roach and Wild Card boxing. I’ve grown and learned so much. I am a versatile boxer who can adapt to any situation within the ring.”

DIEGO PACHECO, Super Middleweight Contender:
“I’m new to pro wins so I’m gaining experience with every fight. I’ve been training real hard for this fight and I’m ready to give a good performance for my hometown fans. I just fought in Mexico and it was amazing to be there. I’ve been staying in the gym and working on staying active so that I’m ready whenever. My height is a big advantage and I know how to use it really well. I was really happy to learn I was fighting on this card and I’m really excited to open up the show on Saturday. I want to make a statement to everybody, I’m ready to fight! Everyone tune in, it’ll be a great show.”

JAIME MUNGUIA TIJUANA, MEXICO MEDIA WORKOUT QUOTES

TIJUANA, MEXICO (Sept. 4, 2019): Jaime Munguia (33-0, 26 KOs) hosted a media workout yesterday in his hometown of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico ahead of defending his WBO Junior Middleweight World Title in a 12-round bout against African warrior Patrick Allotey (40-3, 30 KOs). The young star was joined by his trainer Erik Morales, along with Oscar De La Hoya, Chairman and CEO of Golden Boy, and Fernando Beltran, CEO of Zanfer Promotions. The event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 14 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif. and will be streamed live on DAZN.

Below is what yesterday’s participants had to say at the media workout:

Jaime Munguia, WBO Junior Middleweight World Champion:
“For this camp, we’ve been working on keeping my hands up, moving my waist and using lateral movement. That’s what we have been practicing every day with my new trainer Erik Morales. Erik and I had known each other from before, but I never thought that I’d be training with him. Things happen for a reason, and I think it’s for the best.”

“Erik and I have a good relationship, and we get along well. We’re happy when we’re working with each other as I have been with my father and other trainers as well. Erik brings a lot of intelligence to camp. He knows what to do in the ring. He knows how to work on defense, and he gives me a lot of advice regarding what to do in a fight. It comes with his experience, and of course I execute what he says when I am in the ring. It has been really good.”

Erik Morales, Hall of Famer and Trainer to Jaime Munguia
“In Jaime Munguia’s last fight, he was criticized a lot. He showed vulnerabilities in his defense. However, he has a lot of potential. He’s young, strong and can hit very hard. We haven’t changed much. Rather, we’ve strengthened his combinations and focused on his offense. We’ve made some minor changes in his defense, but it will nevertheless make the a difference.”

“We weren’t friends before working together, but we thought well of each other. When we’d see each other, we would greet each other happily. Now that we are together, we have a very cordial relationship. When you bring a new voice into a corner, it can be tough at first. But when you find a way to listen and you see that things are going your way, it can be a calming experience. If there’s any advice that I’d give to Jaime, it’s to listen to his corner, pay attention and let us help him.”

Oscar De La Hoya, Chairman and CEO of Golden Boy:
“I like what I see in Jaime Munguia now that he has the legendary Erik Morales in his corner. He’s having him sit down more on his punches. Before, he was on his toes too much. Now he has him sitting on his punches and throwing combinations. At the same time, he is moving his head and being smart, so I like what I see.”

“I’m expecting Jaime to box a little bit, but I also expect him to be more aggressive and throw combinations. Fighters today don’t throw as many combinations. They want to knock people out with one punch. But it’s not the first punch that knocks you out-it’s the third or fourth punch. I like Jaime is being more aggressive and throwing more combinations. We’ll see what happens on Sept. 14.”

Fernando Beltran, CEO of Zanfer Promotions:
“Jaime Munguia is improving a lot with Erik Morales. There are a lot of similarities between them. Both guys came from Tijuana and were undefeated when they became world champions at only 21 years of age. They both started with their fathers as well. This team will do a lot in boxing. I see Jaime Munguia is improving his defense and on not throwing punches for the sake of throwing them. He’s thinking more in there. He’s improving a lot.”

“Erik Morales has a lot to prove as a trainer. As a former fighter, he has a lot of knowledge, which he can now pass down to other fighters who are coming up. They get along very well. We are very happy to have put them together and that they are getting along so well. We’re also happy with Jaime’s improvement. We just saw him moving his head in sparring and throwing a lot of punches. He’s not jumping as much. I really like it.”

This is my dream. I’ve dedicated my teen years and entire adult life for this, and I won’t take it for granted.”

Because I was born to make history and will continue doing so over and over again, I will be world champion again. Crews-Dezurn came at the right time to feel the real Mexican power, and “La Tigre” will show you.”

He was joined by co-main event fighters Ryan “Kingry” Garcia (18-0, 15 KOs) and Avery “A-Plus” Sparrow (10-1, 3 KOs) who will battle in a 10-round lighweight fight. The event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 14 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif. and will be streamed live on DAZN.

Below is what today’s participants had to say at the press conference:

JAIME MUNGUIA, WBO Junior Middleweight Champion:

“I feel very happy to be the main event for this Mexican Independence Day fight. It’s going to be a great day for boxing and a great day for Mexico. My desire on September 14th is to demonstrate everything I’ve been learning with my new trainer Erick Morales. I have a great fighter in front of me and we are going to show it in the ring.”

“We know that Allotey is strong, fast and has a lot of knockouts. We will have to be very careful about that. But, I’ll be looking to give a great show, and I’ll look for the knockout on September 14.”

RYAN GARCIA. Lightweight Contender:

“Thank you to everyone who came here. Out of the three fights I was offered I knew Avery was the hardest. He’s a fast and undefeated counter puncher. He’s smart. I wanted to take the hardest fight I got offered. I’m going to bring my all and train like it’s my last, upping my speed and power. I’m going to bring my experience. I’ve seen a lot of fighters out there, and I’m going to bring those wins into the ring as well. Let’s all get ready! Avery is very fast and that’s what I’m going to have to train for. I know that my experience and my training will help me win this fight. I wanted to take on the hardest fight. I’m not trying to prove anything to myself, but to the people who doubt me and the people who don’t think I can handle this fight.”

AVERY SPARROW, Super Featherweight Contender:

“Thank you Golden Boy and all the fans for making this fight happen. Ryan knows I’m a good fighter and this is a big fight, I have a lot of support and people backing me. I’m on a different level than Ryan Garcia, and he hasn’t been to this level yet. I’ve fought fighters with similar experience before, but we will see what happens on September 14th. I hope to see everyone there.”

ERIK MORALES, Hall of Famer and Trainer of Jaime Munguia:

“I’m very grateful to be working with Munguia. He’s a great fighter and a young fighter with a lot of desire to show. It reminds me of when I was younger. He has been improving over our last two months of working together. I assure you that the Munguia you know will be different, but will also deliver the same explosive style he has. We are showing him and guiding him.”

OSCAR DE LA HOYA, Chairman and CEO of Golden Boy:

“As always we will have a very stacked undercard for this fight. We are excited to host this fight at one of the most exciting venues in California. Dignity Health Sports Park brings out the best in every fighter, so we can’t wait for the fans to experience this fight. This fight will also include a Mexican fiesta featuring bands and activations from Tecate and Orange Crush. The event will be streamed live on DAZN, where we are committed to making the best fights and giving fans and affordable price to watch. Our partners at DAZN have been instrumental in bringing affordable boxing to the masses and on a global scale.”

“We want to make sure that you’re watching the very best. We strongly feel that the fights we have scheduled for this event are even and will give fans their money’s worth. Avery knows what’s at stake and what can transpire by winning this fight. We are truly excited to be showcasing Munguia on an important day for boxing, especially now that he has a new trainer. We strongly feel this new trainer will bring out the best in Munguia. Munguia is willing to jump around into different divisions and every punch he throws is with bad intention. He’s a hard worker and he’s disciplined and dedicated. He’s also a real pleasure outside of the ring.”

FERNANDO BELTRAN, President of Zanfer Promotions:

“First of all, I would like to tell you that it’s an honor to be here in one of the best boxing companies in the world and with Oscar De La Hoya. I also have lots memories on this podium by being here with Erik Morales. Munguia is a special fighter and he will prove that he belongs on the top and fighting the best fighters out there, such as Canelo and Golovkin. I know everyone will enjoy this fight on Mexican Independence Day.”

GOLDEN BOY AND DAZN TO PRESENT A BIG NIGHT OF BOXING ON MEXICAN INDEPENDENCE DAY WEEKEND!

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. (Aug. 10, 2019): Golden Boy and DAZN will continue the tradition of delivering pugilistic action on Mexican Independence Day Weekend as Jaime Munguia (33-0, 26 KOs) takes on Patrick Allotey (40-3, 30 KOs) in a 12-round fight for the WBO Junior Middleweight World Title at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif. The event will take place on Saturday, September 14 and will be streamed live on DAZN.

“We’re excited to be able to continue this tradition that we know many fans anticipate, and this year we’re putting on a series of exhilarating fights that will make for an entertaining night,” said Oscar De La Hoya, Chairman and CEO of Golden Boy. “Jaime Munguia is an undefeated world champion who has become one of Mexico’s biggest boxing stars. Meanwhile, Patrick Allotey has an impressive skillset with years of experience under his belt. The styles are guaranteed to make a war. We’ve also put together a full card of action in order to celebrate Mexican Independence Day.”

Munguia is a 22-year-old world champion of Tijuana, Mexico who catapulted to the highest levels of the 154-pound division by knocking out Sadam “World Kid” Ali in May to capture the WBO Junior Middleweight World Title. Since then, Munguia has defended his title against the likes of Liam “Beefy” Smith, Brandon “Bad Boy” Cook, Takeshi Inoue and Dennis Hogan. Munguia will now represent his country on the most important date for Mexican boxing.

“I feel very happy for the opportunity of headlining a card on Sept. 14,” said Jaime Munguia. “That’s the best date for boxing in the entire year. It’s a great date for Mexico because that’s when we celebrate Mexican Independence Day. I’m proud and honored to be representing Mexico in the festivals for my country. I’ll give my best and I’ll try to deliver a great fight for all the people and for those who will see us.”

Allotey is a 28-year-old native of Accra, Ghana who debuted as a professional in 2006 when he was only 16 years old. Though suffering losses against Golden Boy’s Patrick Teixeira and standout contender Kanat Islam, Allotey is coming off six victories in a row.

“I respect Munguia. He is a great fighter,” said Patrick Allotey. “But I’m an African warrior, so you know I’ll be coming to cause a big surprise.”

“I’m very excited for Jaime Munguia’s next fight date as he’ll be headlining on Sept. 14, which is an important date for Mexico,” said Fernando Beltran, President of Zanfer Promotions. “I am very proud because our representative will fight on the most important date for Mexicans.

In the co-main event, rising sensation Ryan Garcia (18-0, 15 KOs) of Victorville, Calif. will take on Avery “A Plus” Sparrow (10-1, 3 KOs) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in a 10-round lightweight fight.

“Sparrow is basically an undefeated fighter with a good amateur background,” Ryan Garcia. “People in boxing that know boxing will know this isn’t an easy fight. It will not be overlooked.”

“I’m thankful to Golden Boy and Russell Peltz for the opportunity,” said Avery Sparrow. “Ryan Garcia has yet to be tested, and it’s a big step up for him. It’s not much of a step up in opposition for me. It’s his biggest test, not mine. I’m good fighting at 130, but nobody wants to fight me there, so I’m moving up to 135. I look forward to putting on a great show.”

“It’s a difficult fight for Sparrow,” said Russell Peltz. “Once again he has to move up in weight from 130 to 135. None of the 130-pounders want to fight him. However, I am not a big believer that weight difference will determine the outcome. The outcome will be determined by who is the better fighter so long as the judges are fair, and I am sure they will be. Garcia has a prettier record, but Sparrow can more than handle himself.”

Pablo Cesar “El Demoledor” Cano (32-7-1, 22 KOs) of Tlalnepantla, Mexico will defend his WBC International Silver Super Lightweight Title in a 12-round fight against Michael “The Artist” Perez (25-3-2, 11 KOs) of Newark, New Jersey. Cano will return from his upset victory over Jorge “El Niño de Oro” Linares, and he will look to fight for a world title at 140 pounds if successful against Perez.

Filipino rising star “Ruthless” Romero Duno (20-1, 15 KOs) will defend his NABO Lightweight Title in a 10-round fight.

Armenian contender Azat “Crazy A” Hovhannisyan (17-3, 14 KOs) will return in a 10-round super bantamweight clash.

Alejandro “Pin Pon” Reyes of Los Angeles, Calif. will make his professional debut in a four-round lightweight fight against Jorge Padron (3-4, 3 KOs) of Sonora, Mexico.

Additional undercard information will be announced shortly.
