RICHARD BREWART JR. TRAINING CAMP QUOTES

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA (September 21, 2022) – Undefeated middleweight, Richard Brewart Jr. (12-0, 4 KOs), will face former USA Boxing stand-out Joeshon James (6-0, 3 KOs), as the two will do battle in an 8-round main event on Thompson Boxing’s “Locked ’N Loaded” card.

Locked ‘N Loaded will take place at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, CA on Friday, September 23, 2022. Doors open at 6:30 pm PT with the first fight starting at 8:00 pm PT. Tickets are priced $50$75, and $100, are available for purchase by calling 714-935-0900 or online at www.thompsonboxing.com.

Fight fans will be able to watch all Thompson Boxing fights, weigh-ins, and behind-the-scenes content, via their new Mobile App downloadable on Apple and Google.

Here is what Brewart Jr. had to say about his recent training camp, his matchup with Joeshon James, fighting at home, and more.

On his recent training camp:

“A lot of hard work was put into this camp, a lot of tough sparring, and now I’m in great shape. I’ve been working on being more active, throwing more punches each round, and keeping a better pace throughout each round. The work I put into this camp will show on fight night as I’m looking to get stop my opponent before the final bell rings.”

On how his career is going progressing:

“First off, I want to thank Thompson Boxing for keeping me busy during the pandemic. This will be the third undefeated fighter I will face in my career, and I feel my name is starting to get attention in the middleweight division. I am fighting the toughest possible opponents I can, and this will be no different. I truly believe I am the best prospect in all of boxing based on my resume. This weekend I will prove it again.”

On fighting back at home:

“I love putting on great shows in-front of all the fans who show up to cheer me on. It has been five fights since I knocked someone out, so it is long overdue that I stop someone. So, what better place than back at home to break the decision streak. The goal of this camp has been simple – be the best version of myself. After I win this fight, bigger fights will come, so I want to put on a show and make a statement. I have trained for this fight like it was a 12-round world title fight.”

On his matchup with Joeshon James:

“He is a good fighter, but the type of opponents he has faced in the pros are nothing like what I have faced. He was a very good amateur, but I am a very good professional. That is a big difference, and Friday, Joeshon will see the difference in the ring.”

On what a win will do for his career:

“I am looking to enter the top-15 of the world rankings with a win. I want to face the best guys in the world, and that is why I am facing the best talent possible. I am not turning down hard fights, and beyond that – I am winning these fights. A win here puts me one step closer to recognition, and regional titles. I want both, but I really want a belt before 2023 is over.”

JOESHON JAMES TRAINING CAMP QUOTES

LAS VEGAS, NV (September 20, 2022) – Undefeated middleweight Joeshon James (6-0, 3 KOs), will look to shock Southern California as he faces local fan favorite, Richard Brewart Jr. (12-0, 4 KOs), in an 8-round main event on Thompson Boxing’s “Locked ’N Loaded” card.

Locked ‘N Loaded” will take place at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, CA on Friday, September 23, 2022.

Here is what Joeshon James had to say about his recent training camp, his matchup with Brewart Jr. and more.

On his training camp:

“I moved my camp to Las Vegas for this fight and I have been working with all the top fighters who are training out there. I typically train in Sacramento, California, but for a fight of this caliber I invested in myself and I’m looking to make a statement. I don’t want to leave anything up to chance. So, I am all-in on this fight, and will be ready for whatever version of Richard Brewart Jr. presents itself.”

On his matchup with Richard Brewart Jr.:

“I am not going to say I am unimpressed by his skills, but I felt Nathan Weston beat him, and probably could’ve stopped him in their fight. Brewart gets hit a lot. I hit very hard. For him to see the final bell will be a big accomplishment. I just think he has too many flaws, and I worked too hard going into this fight.”

On what a win will do for his career:

“To beat a well-known undefeated fighter in his hometown will do wonders for my career. I am an unsigned fighter with a ton of amateur fights, who was consistently fighting at national tournaments in USA Boxing events for the past decade. A win here gives me a chance to give my young family a better life, a chance to sign with a promoter, and improve our lives. This fight will be life-changing for me. I am fighting for everything this weekend.”

On Northern California vs. Southern California Rivalry:

“Honestly, the rivalry between Northern California and Southern California isn’t what people make it out to be. We’re just people. I think, because the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers baseball teams are so popular and have such a well-known rivalry, people think it is a bigger deal than it is. I am going into his hometown, but I am going to earn a lot of respect with the way I fight. People might boo at first, but by the end of the night, they will be fans of mine.”

“I want to be in the running for prospect of the year, and to do that I have to fight guys with good records while fighting often. This is my second fight of the year, against another good opponent. RICHARD “COOL BREEZE” BREWART JR. REMAINS UNBEATEN WITH MAJORITY DECISION VICTORY

CORONA, CA (February 22, 2021) – Last night at the Omega Products International Event Center in Corona, CA, Thompson Boxing Promotions hosted the first 2021 edition of its 3.2.1. Boxing series. In the 6-round main event, middleweight prospect Richard Brewart Jr. (9-0, 4 KOs), remained undefeated, winning a split decision against Nathan Weston (6-1-2, 2 KOs).

In round one, Brewart Jr. got caught with a left hook by Nelson that sent him to the canvas, but it was more of an off-balance situation. Brewart Jr. bounced back nicely by applying a lot of pressure in the early round. Nelson was using a lot of lateral movement as he did his best to avoid the power right hands that were coming at him. Both fighters were engaged in some explosive exchanges in the middle rounds, but it was Brewart Jr. who was getting the better of those trades. In the later rounds, Brewart Jr. continued to bring the fight to Nelson which was the difference in the fight as he won by split decision. Scorecards read 58-55 twice for Brewart Jr. and b, 57-56 for Nelson.

“This was great learning experience for me against another undefeated fighter,” said Brewart Jr. “I thought I rebounded after being dropped in the first round. I was never hurt, and I was relentless for the rest of the fight. I had to dig deep to get the victory and all the hard work in training camp paid off. I’m looking forward to my next fight.”

In the 6-round co-feature featherweight prospects Katsuma Akitsugi and Arnold Dinong put on an entertaining fight as both fighters showed great skills and high ring IQ’s. Akitsugi, who was fighting out of the southpaw stance, was landing a lot of nice counters, while Dinong was fighting good on the inside.
Akitsugi used a lot of lateral movement as he was landing clean punches off angels. Dinong had some good moments when he had Akitsugi on the ropes. It was close fight all the way to the final bell, but Akitsugi was the one the landed the cleaner shots in the judges’ eyes as he won a majority decision.
?Scorecards read 58-56, 59-55 for Katsuma and 58-56 for Dinong.

“I knew Dinong was going to be a tough fight, but I was confident I was going to come out victorious as we had a great game plan in place,” said Akitsugi. “This is a great victory on my record and I going to take this momentum into the rest of 2021. I’ll be back in the gym on Monday ready to get right back in the ring.”

The opening 4-round middleweight bout showcased the pro debut of Nelson Oliva, who faced Uriel Gonzalez. Oliva came out guns blazing as he wasted no time letting his hands go, landing power shots to the head and body from the southpaw stance. After sending Gonzalez to the canvas early in round one with a brutal left hook to the head, Oliva dropped him once again before the round ended. In round two, Oliva continued his onslaught, landing more crushing blows before the referee stopped the bout at the 1:27 mark. Nelson Oliva (1-0, 1 KO) wins his first as a professional, while Uriel Gonzalez (5-7-1, 5 KOs) suffers another defeat.

“It felt good to get my first win as a pro, especially by knockout.” said Oliva. “I felt really strong in there tonight. I sat on my punches and delivered a lot of powerful shots and got him out of there. I know have a long way to go but I’m feeling great on how my career has started. I ready to get right back in there.”

The free stream will air live this Sunday, February 21, 2021, on the Thompson Boxing Promotions website (www.thompsonboxing.com), as well as their Facebook and YouTube pages, in addition to Fight Hub TV. 3.2.1. Boxing will take place at the Omega Products International Event Center in Corona, CA, and will start at 3:30 p.m. PT / 6:30 p.m. ET.

Here is what Richard Brewart Jr. had to say about his upcoming fight with Weston, training camp with coach Henry Ramirez, and more.

On his recent training camp:
“I’ve been in the gym with my coach Henry Ramirez, working on a lot of defensive drills and I am seeing the time I have put in paying off. I learned a lot in my last fight, and I know that I am close to some big opportunities, so I’m super focused. It’s been a very productive training camp to say the least.”

On his matchup with Nathan Weston:
“I have heard of Weston, I know he’s been in a couple of camps with big names like Golovkin and Munguia, but I know that I am different. This is a chance for me to show my talent against a well-respected opponent and someone who is coming to win. My power is starting to emerge more and more with each fight, and I feel my power will break him down. I’m going to make this fight uncomfortable for him by throwing a lot of power shots.

On what a win will do for his career:
“I am about to beat back-to-back undefeated fighters, and that is something a lot of fighters with less than ten fights don’t do. I am looking to make a statement in the middleweight division, and let the rest of the contenders know that I am coming.”

On fighting on 3.2.1. Boxing:
“Thompson Boxing has always taken great care of me and I appreciate them keeping my busy. Each fight I have been on for 3.2.1 Boxing has been exciting and fan-friendly. My last fight against Louis Hernandez was considered by some to be one of the best fights last year, and I know this fight will be just as good, if not better. I look forward to fighting on future 3.2.1 Boxing cards for the rest of 2021.”

Beto Duran will operate as the blow-by-blow commentator with expert commentary by Doug Fischer and the returning Steve Kim. Jessica Rosales will serve as the onsite ringside reporter.

“A win in this bout would change my life. I recently became a father and I feel that this man I am fighting is trying to take money from my plate to support my family. I don’t see any other option but winning. When my hands are raised, I’ll be happy to move on to bigger fights.”

On fighting on 3.2.1. Boxing:

Louis Hernandez Training Camp Quotes

CORONA, CA (December 15, 2020) – Unbeaten middleweight prospect, Louis Hernandez (8-0-1, 6 KOs), is set to face Richard “Cool Breeze” Brewart Jr. (7-0, 3 KOs) on Thompson Boxing Promotions final 3.2.1. Ruben “Ace” Torres (13-0, 11 KOs) will battle Jose Luis “La Boa” Rodriguez (23-13-1, 13 KOs) in the main event, scheduled for 8-rounds in the super lightweight division. The 8-round co-main event will feature Saul “The Beast” Sanchez (14-1, 8 KO), of Pacoima, CA, taking on Mario Hernandez (10-1-1, 3 KOs), of Santa Ana, CA, in a super flyweight bout.

The free stream will air live on the Thompson Boxing Promotions website (www.thompsonboxing.com), as well as their Facebook and YouTube pages, in addition to Fight Hub TV. 3.2.1. Boxing will take place at the Omega Products International Event Center in Corona, CA, and will start at 3:30 p.m. PT / 6:30 p.m. ET.

Here is what Louis Hernandez had to say about his recent training camp, his matchup with Brewart Jr., and more.

On his recent training camp.

“Training camp has been very difficult because of the COVID restrictions, but I put in a lot of hard work that I know will get my hands raised in victory. I’ve been working on a lot of foot work drills but that main attribute I’ve enhanced is sitting on my punches and delivering powerful body shots. All my tools will be on display and I am focused on beating my opponent, who I think has never fought anyone like me.”

On his matchup with Brewart Jr.

“I am not impressed at all with him. I think he is taking me far too lightly and he will pay on fight night. He hasn’t fought anyone yet who has been a true threat to him, this will be a big wake-up call. I don’t think he’ll make it to the final bell.”

On fighting on 3.2.1 Boxing

“It is an honor to fight on a Thompson Boxing Promotions card, and especially one in which all my friends and family can easily watch it. I am going to make the most of this opportunity and take this momentum into 2020.”

On being the underdog.

“I embrace being in the underdog role because I haven’t had my opportunity yet. I view this as when Terence Crawford had to fight overseas and beat Ricky Burns to become a world champion. I am having to go into Brewart’s hometown, to beat him and earn my respect in the boxing world.”

Beto Duran will operate as the blow-by-blow commentator with expert commentary by Doug Fischer, while Jessica Rosales will serve as the onsite ringside reporter.

On fighting Louis Hernandez.

“To be honest, I really don’t like him. Hernandez hasn’t done anything in the sport of boxing and is talking a lot of trash on the internet. He should be more humble about getting this fight, he has never been at this level. I’m ready to put a beating on him.”

On what fans can expect in this fight.

“I am going to come out firing big bombs as soon as the opening bell rings. I’m going to bring the heat, and he is going to question if he still wants to box after this fight. This will be a dominant performance that moves me into the conversation of the prospect of the year.”

On fighting on 3.2.1 Boxing.

“It is always great to fight on Thompson Boxing shows. I had a knockout of the year candidate on one of their events not long ago, and they always have great production value. Thompson Boxing Promotions is a very professional organization and fans from all over the world can tune in because it’s available to the public across many platforms.”
