On his recent training camp.

“Camp has been great from the nutrition to the training to bringing in Andres Cortes to camp to help me be as sharp as possible. I know that I invested in myself in a sport a lot of people just get by in, and that will be my edge as I move up in competition, that I didn’t cut corners that others did.”

On his upcoming bout with Charlie Serrano.

“Serrano is a fighter who’s been in the ring with a lot of good fighters and I’m expecting him to be in great shape. He’s got a lot of experience and I’m going to be ready for an explosive fight. I am a gentleman outside the ring, but I am a warrior inside. I am planning on making an example out of Charlie Serrano with a knockout.”

On Fighting at the Winfield Dunn Center.

“This venue is only 25 mins from my house so I’m expecting a sell out and lively crowd. I have been lucky enough to get a lot of local support, my community is not just a fight town, but also supports the local business that sponsor me. I know a lot of people want to see me do well, but also want to support my dream. I am from a place where we support each other, and I am lucky to have so much to fight for. On what a win will do for his career.

“My goal is to be in the conversation for the 2022 Prospect of the Year, and a brutal KO that goes viral will be the start of it. I am planning on fighting a lot this year, and every opponent, as well as performance, will be better than the last. This will be a major victory and get me closer to facing world ranked fighters.”

Ty Tomlin Brings in Andres Cortes in Preparation for Upcoming Showdown with Charlie Serrano

?
“It was an honor to have Andres and his team travel out here to help me for the biggest fight of my career,” said Tomlin. “Andres Cortes is one of the best fighters in the world, and I needed the best work possible, so I made sure that I brought Andres in camp to prep me. To be great you have to do what others won’t.”

Ty, who will be fighting in front of a packed house on February 5th, will look to entertain his fans in nearby Clarksville, TN, as Tomlin is ready to send them home happy with a knockout victory.

“We can’t be like other fighters and just stick to sparring the people around us, we needed world-class work, so we brought in Andres Cortes,” said his father and trainer, Darryl Tomlin. “We want to be the prospect of the year in 2022, and we have set that goal, and to do that we need the best people around us, every single day to get the best results. Andres and his brother Luis were sensational getting us ready for this fight.”

Ty Tomlin Opponent Announced will Face Charlie Serrano February 5th

CHEATHAM COUNTY, TN (January 4, 2022) – On February 5, 2022, undefeated lightweight prospect, Tyler “Short Fuse” Tomlin (12-0, 8 KOs), of Cheatham County, TN, now has a dancing partner for his highly anticipated return to his hometown region, as he will face, Charlie Serrano (16-6-2, 5 KOs), of Tampa, Florida. The 10-round main event will take place in Clarksville, TN, at the Winfield Dunn Center at Austin Peay University.

“Credit to my opponent for taking the fight as I had over a dozen other opponents turn me down,” said the massive ticket seller, Tomlin. “I know he’s coming to win, but I have other plans. I know what I have to do, and Charlie Serrano is just in the way of my goals for 2022.”

Tomlin is on a three-fight KO streak and looks to be in the running for the 2022 Prospect of the Year.”

“I want to make a big statement in this fight with a dominating performance,” said Tomlin firmly. “I have the support of my whole community who has believed in me since I turned pro. I’m hoping to get the recognition of some of the other top prospects in my division.”

Tomlin, a known ticket seller, is one of the biggest draws in the regional boxing scene and because of that, tickets are extremely limited given the high demand to this event. Tomlin partnering with promoter Lou Dibella now adds even more firepower to one of most dynamic young attractions in boxing business heading into 2022.

“Having Lou DiBella guide us is the last piece we needed to be on a world class level,” said his father and trainer, Darryl Tomlin. “We’re going to put on a show for our local fans, so show up, and we will show!”

“I am honored to Promote this show for Ty,” said One-One-Six promoter, Brandi Bowlin Mccain. “I am very excited we were able to get a venue so close to his hometown. Everyone is town is talking about his fight and this will, without a doubt, be the biggest show I have ever promoted.”

The show is being promoted by One-One-Six Boxing Promotions, in association with Tomlin’s promoter, DiBella Entertainment. Ty Tomlin Headlines 2022 Debut at Austin Peay University on February 5th

CHEATHAM COUNTY, TN (November 30, 2021) – On February 5th, 2022, undefeated lightweight prospect, Tyler “Short Fuse” Tomlin (12-0, 8 KOs), of Cheatham County, TN, will be headlining his return to the ring when he squares off against an opponent TBA. The 10-round main event will take place in Clarksville, TN, about twenty-five minutes from Tomlin’s hometown, at the Winfield Dunn Center at Austin Peay University.

The show is being promoted by One One Six Boxing Promotions, in association with Tomlin’s promoter, DiBella Entertainment. Tickets priced $20 and $40, are on sale now and can be purchased by calling (256) 458-2341 or by clicking HERE. The Winfield Dunn Center is located at 601 College St. Clarksville TN, 37044.

In his last fight Tomlin stopped Ira Terry in five-rounds via a technical knockout. Tomlin is currently riding a three-fight knockout streak, and the team is looking at making four after February 5th.

“It feels so good to be fighting back at home once again,” said Tomlin, who is extremely popular in his native land. “I’m going to be well prepared going into this fight as we have a solid eight weeks to prepare for war. The venue is very close and there is nothing like fighting in front of my hometown fans. I am getting better each fight, and I will make this an extra special performance. I am an entertainer, and I want to start off 2022 with a bang, as my goal is to be “Prospect of the Year” in 2022.”

Tomlin, a known ticket seller, should pack the house as his last bout in Kentucky, a mere 30-minutes away from his hometown, was a sell-out. Tomlin is expecting a similar result for this event as well. Tickets went on sale over the weekend and the venue is almost sold out of VIP tables. Tomlin is one of the rare fighters that can sell tickets and having a fanbase is an extremely important facet of the boxing business that Lou Dibella understands well.

“Having Lou DiBella is vital to our progression because we know he can provide a path to a world title fight if we keep winning,” said his father and trainer, Darryl Tomlin. “It’s a blessing to be fighting in our backyard, especially in a bigger venue, because I know all of Ty’s fans will be able to attend. The Winfield Dunn Center holds about 4,700 seats, and I think we can sell the place out. Ty is getting better every time he steps in the ring, and because of that, we’re expecting a lot from him in 2022,”

“I am expecting to see a lot of familiar faces in the crowd, and a lot of local support since Tennessee is really a fight town, they just haven’t been able to show it,” concluded Tomlin. “I will say it right now, this will be a sold-out show and I am going to make another statement as I prep myself for the television bouts in my future. I am ready to go to the next level!”

Tyler “Short Fuse” Tomlin Scores KO against Ira Terry Remains Undefeated

CHEATHAM COUNTY, TN (August 29, 2021) – Last night in front of a sold out crowd at the Oak Grove Racing and Gaming Hotel, popular lightweight prospect, Tyler “Short Fuse” Tomlin (12-0, 8 KOs), of Cheatham County, TN, remained unbeaten with an inspiring knockout victory over veteran Ira “Mr. Showtime” Terry (27-17, 16 KOs). The card was promoted by Tri-Star Boxing.

In the early rounds, Tomlin had to make an adjustment to Terry’s speed and lateral movement, by mounting a body attack that slowed down the native Memphis, Tennessee. In the fifth round, Tomlin landed a right hook to the head, followed by a left to the temple, sending Terry to the canvas. The referee stopped the bout after Terry couldn’t continue.

“Ira Terry showed a lot of heart in this fight and I had to figure him out before I stopped him,” said Tyler Tomlin, who is promoted by DiBella Entertainment. “His movement and speed were giving me problems in the first couple of rounds, but I made the adjustment, and got him out of there. My dad told me to start going to the body and that advise was the key to victory. He started to break down once I started pounding his body.”

“It’s unbelievable what Ty has been able to accomplish when it comes to selling tickets, as the venue of over a thousand people was completely sold out,” said Darryl Tomlin, who co-manages is son with Peter Fernandez, while taking on the role of coach and trainer. “Ira was coming off a nice win against an opponent with a good record, so we knew we were going to have to be on our game to come out on top. Ty showed he has what it takes to dig deep to win a fight.”

Tomlin, who is a massive ticket seller in his home state of Tennessee, was thrilled to be fighting at home in front of family and friends.

“Although the fight was in Kentucky, the venue is less then an hour from my hometown of Cheathem County,” Tomlin continued. “I wanted to put on a great show for my fans and I was able to do that with a knockout. The energy of the crowed as exhilarating and it motivated me during this fight. I’ll be talking with my promoter, Lou DiBella, about what’s next, and hopefully I’ll be back in the ring soon. I want to thank everyone who came out and supported me.”

CHEATHAM COUNTY, TN (August 24, 2021) – Undefeated lightweight prospect, Tyler “Short Fuse” Tomlin (11-0, 7 KOs), of Cheatham County, TN, is looking to keep the forward momentum going on his promising professional boxing career as he faces, Ira “Mr. Showtime” Terry (27-16, 16 KOs), that on paper is Tomlin’s toughest fight of his career. “I am now signed with DiBella Entertainment, and having a major promoter means I have to step my game up as I will now be getting bigger fights,” said Tomlin. “Ira Terry has fought a lot of really good fighters like Jorge Linares, Francisco Vargas and Claudio Marrero, and I look forward to showing the world where I stack up against these legends in boxing. This is the toughest test of my career and I’m looking to have a performance that gets people talking about me.”

Tomlin, who was an offensive wrecking ball from the opening bell, landed some vicious body blows early, in addition to some powerful overhand rights, that led to his opponent’s demise in his last fight against Tyrone Luckey. Tomlin is looking to repeat that performance against Terry.

“Ira Terry is a golden glove winner and he’s coming off a big win in his last fight, and we’re taking him very seriously,” said Darryl Tomlin, Tyler’s coach, and father, who co-manages is son with Peter Fernandez. “We’re grateful to Lou DiBella and DiBella Entertainment for keeping us active and we are looking to put on a great show for all of those who will be traveling to the fight to support Ty. I want everyone to know we have trained for a knockout, and we’re looking to close the show in this fight.”

Tomlin is a massive draw, and despite the fight being in Kentucky, it is a mere 30-minutes from his residence in Tennessee, meaning Ty will have a lot of familiar faces in the crowd.

“This bout is 30-minutes from where I live, and I am excited to have tremendous support from my family and friends as I move forward on my journey towards becoming a world champion,” said Tomlin. “This will be a sold out show and I want to make everyone proud who is coming to see me. I’m going to bring it in this fight and put on a great show for the fans.”

Tyler “Short Fuse” Tomlin Wraps Up Sparring Session in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, NV (August 8, 2021) – Undefeated super lightweight prospect, Tyler “Short Fuse” Tomlin (11-0, 7 KOs), took the show on the road as he went to the fight capital of the world, Las Vegas, Nevada, to get some sparring with some of the best fighters in the world. Tomlin got some great rounds in with undefeated super featherweight Andres Cortes (14-0, 7 KOs) and Super lightweight Sanjarbek Rakhmanov (12-3-1, 6 KOs).

“This is world-class sparring, and this is what I need to go to the next level,” said Tomlin, who recently signed with famed promoter Lou DiBella. “My goal is to be a world champion, but to be that you can’t just stay-at-home and assume that the work will come to you. I hit the road and made sure that I am seeing all different types of looks and am well prepared for everything boxing brings my way.”

Tomlin, who is looking to return at the end of August is excited to get into these types of camps to gain more experience.

“It is important to see the world if you want to be a world champion,” said Darryl Tomlin, Ty’s father, trainer, and co-manager. “We got some great work, especially with Andres Cortes, and this is the type of sparring that helps a young fighter go to the next level. Ty gets to see what a fighter going into a big fight at the end of camp goes through, and how he performs and trains.”

“Las Vegas is the center of the boxing world, so I needed to come here to see what the work is like,” continued Tomlin. “I am now signed with a major promoter, DiBella Entertainment, and I take my responsibilities as a professional, and a role-model to my community very seriously. I look forward to what the future holds.”

I am excited to put on a show for my fans and am investing in myself.”

Ty Tomlin Impressive in DiBella Entertainment Debut Scoring KO to Remain Unbeaten

MURFREESBORO, TN (May 15, 2021) – Last night, undefeated lightweight prospect, Tyler “Short Fuse” Tomlin (11-0, 7 KOs), made a statement in his debut with new promoter, DiBella Entertainment, as he stopped battle tested veteran, Tyronne “Hands of Stone” Luckey (13-14-4, 9 KOs), when Luckey was unable to answer the bell for the fourth round.

“I wanted to look good in my debut with DiBella Entertainment and provide an entertaining fight for my fans,” said Tomlin after the fight. “I felt I made a good impression with everyone watching. Luckey has faced world champions like Tevin Farmer, Alberto Machado, and emerging fighters like Ryan Garcia and Frank Martin. Winning this bout, and in the fashion I did, I felt I made a statement to everyone in the lightweight division.”

Tomlin, who was an offensive wrecking ball from the opening bell, landed some vicious body blows early, in addition to some powerful overhand rights, that led to his opponent’s demise. Luckey was fading from the colossal attack and after three rounds of punishment, it appeared only a matter of time before the knockout occurred, hence him not coming out for the fourth round.

“We trained hard for this fight, and the combinations Tyler was landing were the ones we practiced in the gym,” said Darryl Tomlin, Tyler Tomlin’s coach, and father. “We’re grateful to Lou DiBella and DiBella Entertainment for featuring us on this great card, and we look forward to being a part of upcoming shows, especially in Tennessee.”

Tomlin, a fan favorite, had fans driving from across the state to see him fight tonight.

“I want to thank everyone who drove to support me,” Ty Tomlin, continued. “I had people come from two-and-even-three-hours away just to see me fight. My supporters keep me motivated, and they’re a big reason I had this performance tonight.”

VIDEO: Interview with Undefeated Super Lightweight Ty Tomlin

Ty Tomlin Remains Undefeated with First Round Knockout

BILOXI, MS (March 5, 2021) – Last night at the Biloxi Civic Center in Mississippi on UFC Fight Pass as part of a RJJ Boxing card, lightweight prospect, Ty “Short Fuse” Tomlin (10-0, 6 KOs), remained undefeated with an impressive first round knockout against Ricardo Ocampo (12-11, 7 KOs). The scheduled 6-round bout was slated in the super lightweight division due to Ocampo coming in heavy.

Right from the opening bell, Tomlin was in full attack mode, as he went right at Ocampo with a ferocious assault. After some vicious body blow were landed in the first 30-seconds, Tomlin finished off Ocampo with a barrage of punches that ended with a devastating uppercut. The bout was halted at the :55 second mark of round one.

“I had a lot of family and friends make the trip from Nashville to Biloxi to see me fight so I wanted to make a statement against Ocampo,” said Ty Tomlin, a native of Cheatham County, Tennessee. “After I hurt Ocampo with a left hook to the body, I knew I had him hurt and got him out of there. I felt good to get the knockout in front of all my fans who traveled to see me fight. I’m going to get right back in the ring as soon as possible.”

Tomlin, who is only 21-years old, knows he has a long way to go before he can land a big fight with a top contender. His focus is to stay busy and develop his skill set as he builds on his momentous career.

“I know I have a long way before I land a meaningful fight against a top contender,” Tomlin stated, “I’m only 21-years old so I have plenty of time to sharpen up my tools in the ring. I’m starting to sit on my punches more and I can feel the added power when I’m in exchanges. My plan is to keep fighting as much as possible with a goal to get to 20-0 by the end of 2022.

Having built a tremendous fan base in his hometown of Ashland City, TN, Tomlin is looking to fight closer to home when the pandemic fully recovers.

“I’m hoping some of the local promoters back home will be able to put on a show in Nashville in the next few months,” continued Tomlin, who is trained and managed by his father Darryl Tomlin. “My dad and I have been working hard to build my fanbase in my hometown of Cheatham County, and so far, we are making a lot of progress. The whole community supports my career and I’m grateful that so many people are coming to see me fight. There is nothing like fighting in front of your hometown fans.”

“Ty had another great performance last night and I’m happy with the outcome,” said Darryl Tomlin. “We had a great turnout of hometown fans who came to see Ty fight and we are thankful for their support. We are also thankful to RJJ Boxing for putting us on their card and we hope to be back in the ring by the summer.”

Ty Tomlin Making Noise in Lightweight Division Goes for Tenth Win Tonight in Mississipp

BILOXI, MS (March 4, 2021) – Undefeated lightweight prospect, Tyler “Short Fuse” Tomlin (9-0, 5 KOs), better known as Ty Tomlin, will return to the ring tonight on UFC Fight Pass as part of a RJJ Boxing card as he faces Ricardo Ocampo (12-10, 7 KOs) in a scheduled 6-round bout. The card will take place at the Biloxi Civic Center in Mississippi.

Tomlin, a native of Cheatham County, Tennessee, is looking to reach double digits in the victory column as he goes for win number ten as a professional.

“I am excited to put on an exciting show for all my family, friends and fans, back home in Tennessee, who will be tuning in to watch this fight,” said the 21-year-old Tomlin, who is extremely popular in his community. “This is going to be another performance where I showcase what I bring to the table. I fight with a lot of passion and desire and my hard work will be on display tonight.”

Tomlin’s opponent, Richard Ocampo of Valenzuela, came in four pounds heavier, but despite him being overweight, Tomlin is ready to fight. Tomlin, who weighed in yesterday at 140 lbs., will campaign in this fight at super lightweight, as Ocampo came in heavy at 144 lbs.

“We came to fight, and Ocampo is getting a fight, regardless of him coming in heavy,” said Darryl Tomlin, the trainer, manager, and father of Ty Tomlin. “Ty worked really hard for this fight and nothing will take away this opportunity of showcasing his skills and abilities on a major platform like UFC Fight Pass, especially with all the support he has been getting back home. We have a caravan of fans who made the road trip from Nashville to Biloxi, so he is going to leave everything in the ring tonight.”

“The fact that I have a lot of fans coming to see me fight live is a tremendous blessing, especially during COVID,” Ty Tomlin continued. “The energy from my fans is something special and I’m happy they can attend these fights. I want to make a statement with an impressive win, and I’ll be looking to get my opponent out of there if I see him hurt.”

RJJ Boxing will be streamed live and exclusively on UFC FIGHT PASS®, the world’s leading digital subscription service for combat sports, starting at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. To sign up for UFC FIGHT PASS, please visit www.ufcfightpass.com.
