FEIGENBUTZ ANNOUNCES HIMSELF AT MIDDLEWEIGHT; WINS THE IBF INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE

Team Sauerland’s Vincent Feigenbutz (32-3, 28 KOs) overcame the resilient Jama Saidi (17-2, 7 KOs) to win the IBF Intercontinental Middleweight title in an action packed fight at the Harvel Studios in Berlin.

Feigenbutz, who moved down to middleweight following an unsuccessful shot at Caleb Plant’s IBF Super Middleweight World title, produced a tremendous performance that saw him comprehensively outbox Saidi on route to a unanimous points victory.

Having reunited with former trainer Zoltan Lunka, the ‘KO King’ showcased his skillset across 12 fast paced rounds, landing a variety of slick combinations and heavy handed power shots to guarantee himself the victory.

Prior to the fight, Feigenbutz declared that he wanted to prove himself as the number 1 German middleweight and with this impressive victory on Friday night, Germany’s domestic middleweight scene is looking increasingly exciting with boxers such as Patrick Wojcicki and Denis Radovan also battling for the top spot.

Promoter Nisse Sauerland was delighted with Feigenbutz’s performance and is hoping to see his charge rise up the middleweight rankings.

“Vincent is called the ‘KO King’ because he possesses such dangerous power, but tonight he also showed his skills in the ring,” enthused Sauerland. “If Vincent continues to progress at this rate it’s just a matter of time until he gets a shot at a world title again.”

Plant stops Feigenbutz in 10; Retains Super Middleweight Title

Caleb Plant thrilled his hometown fans as he stopped Vincent Feigenbutz in round 10 to retain his IBF Super Middleweight title title at The Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennesse.

It was a one-sided affair from the opening bell as Plant was bigger, faster and stronger then Feigenbutz, and Plant emphatically used all of those advantages.

Plant boxed extremely well against a square target that Feigenbutz well. Plant jabbed, ripped to the body and came back with left hooks that the German visitor had no answer for.

In round nine, Feigenbutz started bleeding from the nose and the stoppage was inevitable.

Finally in round 10, Plant landed another blistering combination and the fight was stopped at 2:23.

Plant, 166.8 lbs of Nashville is 20-0 with 12 knockouts. Feigenbutz, 165.2 lbs of Karfarube, GER is 31-2.

“I was super fueled by the crowd tonight,” Plant said. “I could have gone all night. The whole city came out. Nashville stand up!”

“I felt great out there,” said Plant. “I was relaxed and sharp. I told you I was going to stop this before the 12th round. I want to dedicate this to my daughter, to my mother, my grandfather and the whole city of Nashville.”

“Everyone knows I want that unification fight with David Benavidez,” Plant stated. “You know who the best 168-pounder is. If you want that, you’ve got to come see me. I want that fight; I’ve been asking for it and I’m tired of waiting!”

Abel Ramos, down on the cards, scored a last-second stoppage win over Bryant Perrella in a 10-round welterweight bout.

Perrella controlled the bout for most of the 29-plus minutes of the bout. He boxed well and worked the body. That was until he got caught in the last 2o seconds of the bout by an uppercut that sent him to the canvas. Ramos then landed a hard right that sent Perrella for a 2nd time. Perrella got to his feet but wobbled as referee Jack Reiss asked him to walk to his right, and the bout was stopped at 2:59.

Ramos, 145.8 lbs of Casa Grande, AZ is 26-3-2 with 20 knockouts. Perrella, 146.8 lbs of Fort Myers, FL is 17-3.

“I know the fight’s not over until it’s over,” said Ramos. “That’s the game. I’ve been sick for two weeks. But no excuses. I wanted to come here and perform. “I watched the Chavez-Taylor fight like 10 million times and I never thought I’d be in something like that. It just goes to prove that fights are never over till it’s over. You have to fight every single second of every single round.”

“This is boxing. It’s like Meldrick Taylor and Chavez,” said Perrella, agreeing with Ramos’ comments. “These things just happen. I’m not going to take anything away from my opponent. I was winning every round convincingly. What can I say? There was second left in the 10th round. It’s like a needle in the haystack. It is what it is.”

“Perrella’s a tough fighter,” said Ramos. “He’s a strong, strong fighter. I have nothing but respect for him. I expected a tough fight and that’s what happened.”

“Everything was going well, and I was winning the fight, round by round,” said Perrella. “I don’t know. This is boxing. That’s the thing about the sport. It is what it is. There’s nothing I can do about it. I’m not going to make up any excuses or take anything away from my opponent. It’s just an experience that you go through in life and you have to overcome it. Absolutely I’d like to do it again with him. We can get a rematch in for sure.” “I want all the welterweights,” Ramos exclaimed. “I’d like to have another big TV fight and go out there and prove myself.”

Former world title challenger Diego Magdaleno won a 10-round unanimous decision over Austin Dulay in a lightweight bout.

Dulay took the first couple of rounds by boxing. In round four, Magdaleno turned the fight around by starting a nice body attack.

In round seven, Magdaleno dropped Dulay with a body shot. Seconds later, Magdaleno was deducted a point for a low bow. Magdaleno continued to work the body effectively as the fighters came down the stretch.

Magdaleno, 134.4 lbs of Las Vegas won by scores of 97-91 and 96-92 twice and is now 32-3. Dulay, 134.4 lbs of Nashville is 13-2.

“I knew mentally I could break him down,” said Magdaleno. “If I attacked the body, I knew I could break him down. He’s a young prospect. He’s taller than me so my plan of attack was to get in close and go to the body.”

“Even Diego just told me that he had nothing to do with the decision. He knows. How can they do that to me in my hometown? That’s dirty man.”

“Every round he was hitting me low and, in the back, and on the hips,” said Dulay.
“It was more times than he got called for. I won that fight 100%.”

“Experience has everything going for me. In my previous fight, I lost my head,” said Magdaleno. “This time I took my time. My camp said slow it down. Happy for the victory tonight.”

FEIGENBUTZ AND PLANT COME FACE TO FACE FOR THE FIRST TIME AHEAD OF WORLD TITLE FIGHT

The ‘KO King’ Vincent Feigenbutz (31-2, 28 KOs) came face to face with Caleb Plant (19-0, 11 KOs) for the first time at Thursday’s press conference ahead of their IBF Super Middleweight World title fight this Saturday night at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

The final press conference, taking place on the 21st floor of the AC Hotel overlooking downtown Nashville, was packed with media eagerly awaiting the first meeting between World Champion Plant and German contender Feigenbutz.

Following a lively press conference, both champion and challenger refused to back down from the face off and despite the best efforts of lightweight Diego Magdaleno to intervene, the two headline acts continued to square off until they were finally separated following an intense stare-down.

24-year-old Feigenbutz, who achieved his mandatory status with the IBF following ten consecutive victories with nine of them coming via way of knockout, made it clear he was not fazed about facing Plant in the American’s backyard.

“I don’t care that we’re fighting in his backyard,” said Feigenbutz. “I’d fight him anywhere, I’d fight him in a toilet. I’m coming to fight and he’s going to have to fight me every second in there.

“I’m excited to be here in Nashville, coming all the way from Germany. I’m prepared for this fight, it was a short but intensive preparation and we are happy to be here and to have this opportunity. It’s always been a dream of mine to fight in the US, I love this country and this is something I’ve worked my whole career for.

“You will see how I bring the fight on Saturday night. I’ve prepared with the best training camp of my life. I don’t care about anything Plant says to me today, because in the ring, I’ll have the answer for everything.”

Plant, who won the IBF World title with a points victory over Jose Uzcategui, is looking forward to realising his lifetime dream of fighting in Nashville having been raised in nearby Ashland City.

“Saturday night I get to live out my dream,” said Plant. “I can’t wait to get in the ring in front of all my family, friends and peers. This World title is staying right here in Nashville.

“This is something that I’ve worked for literally my whole life. I’ve sacrificed everything for this. Since I was a kid, it was not only a dream of mine to fight in Nashville as a World Champion, but to defend my World title at the Bridgestone Arena.

“Walking to that ring Saturday night is going to be a spectacular moment,” continued Plant. “It’s all of my life’s work coming down to that moment. This is the biggest fight of my life and I trained as such. I pushed myself to exhaustion.”

The IBF Super Middleweight World title clash between Caleb Plant and Vincent Feigenbutz takes place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on February 15th with all the action broadcast live on Fox in the US, Sport1 in Germany and BoxNation in the UK.

“Saturday night I get to live out my dream, and I can’t wait to get in the ring in front of all my family, friends and peers. This world title is staying right here in Nashville.

“I’m willing to do whatever it takes to keep this world title. However long that I need to hold my breath under water, I will do it. He can’t hold his breath as long as me, because he hasn’t had to. Anyone who knows me, knows that he can’t hold his breath like I can.

“I can promise you that he has a tall order in front of him, and he’s going to have to focus on that. He’s facing a guy who’s willing to do whatever it takes to have his hand raised.

“This is the best I’ve ever felt heading into a title fight. This is the sharpest that I’ve ever boxed. Anyone who knows me, knows that I make weight easily. We’ve had the best sparring partners yet for this camp, and it’s going to make the fight easy on Saturday.

“Walking to that ring Saturday night, it’s going to be a spectacular moment. It’s all of my life’s work coming down to that moment. This is the biggest fight of my life and I trained as such. I pushed myself to exhaustion.

“I really appreciate everyone here coming out not just to support me, but all the fighters on the card. Especially for some of the local fighters from here in Tennessee. I’m grateful for you coming here to support this event.”

VINCENT FEIGENBUTZ

“I’m very excited to be here in Nashville, coming all the way from Germany. I’m prepared for this fight. We’ve had an intensive training camp and I’m happy to be here to take advantage of this opportunity.

“I don’t care that we’re fighting in his backyard. I’d fight him anywhere. I’m coming to fight and he’s going to have to fight me every second in there.

“I’m very happy to be fighting the U.S. because it’s always been my dream of mine. I love this country and this is the opportunity I’ve worked my whole career for.

“You will see how I bring the fight on Saturday night. I’ve prepared with the best training camp of my life. I don’t care about anything Plant says to me today, because in the ring, I’ll have the answer for everything.”

BRYANT PERRELLA

“On Saturday night I’m coming to put on a dynamic display of boxing. I’m ready to go. I’m in there against a tough, experienced fighter. But he’s never experienced what he’s about to be in the ring with.

“I’m the consummate athlete. I’m driven to conquer and succeed in this sport. Tune in, because Abel won’t be able to do anything. They’re not ready for me. We’re ready to go.

“After our loss, we got right back in the gym and we’ve been training ever since. Day in and day out. We’ve added so many layers to my game.

“I’ve had over 140 rounds of sparring in this camp. I went over 15 rounds straight with different guys getting in the ring. I’m a monster in this division and Saturday night I’m going to show it.”

ABEL RAMOS

“I want to thank my whole team for putting me in this position. I can’t wait for Saturday night to put on a great performance. My team has trained me super hard for this fight. I’m ready to put on a show.

“This should be an action packed fight and that excites me. We both have styles that match up really well inside of the ring. I think it’s going to be fireworks.

“I just have to stay composed and stick to my game plan. I can’t worry about going for the knockout or trying to force anything. I’m just going to stay relaxed and when the moment comes, I’ll be ready.”

AUSTIN DULAY

“I’m thankful to everyone for being here, and I also want to thank Diego. I’m really excited for this fight. I’ve been training my whole life for a moment just like this. I’m ready to prove to everyone what I have to offer this sport.

“I’m training the hardest that I ever have for this camp. I’m looking forward to Saturday night and showing the world what I got. I can’t wait to do what I have to do on Saturday.

“I can’t wait to prove myself in that ring. I know that nobody has seen the best version of me yet, but we worked really hard in camp so that I show the best Austin Dulay that’s ever fought.

“We’re just so ready. I know that Magdaleno is experienced and he’ll come to fight, but it’s all about what I can do. I just have to make sure all my focus is on being my best, and that’s what we’ve done all of training camp.”

DIEGO MAGADALENO

“It’s a big pleasure to be here with another big opportunity for my career. I’m no stranger to anything on this stage. I’ve been under the bright lights before plenty of times.

“I’m ready for this opportunity to knock on a new door and open it up and explore what’s on the other side. I’ve made big changes since my last fight and have teamed up to have Bones Adams train me.

“I’ve been working with Blair Cobbs in the gym and we’ve been getting each other ready for our fights. They’ve been undefeated the last two years and I’m new to the team and ready to get this win.

“I’m coming back with something to prove. I’m here to show everyone watching that I’m here and I’m here to fight. I’m looking forward to Saturday night.

“I’ve always put my heart into every round that I fight. I’m so eager and excited to get in the ring. I’m ready to go to work.”

CALEB PLANT VS. VINCENT FEIGENBUTZ NASHVILLE MEDIA WORKOUT QUOTES

NASHVILLE (February 12, 2020) – Undefeated IBF Super Middleweight Champion Caleb “Sweethands” Plant and mandatory challenger Vincent Feigenbutz participated in a media workout in Nashville Wednesday before they square off this Saturday, February 15 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee in the FOX PBC Fight Night main event and on FOX Deportes.

The Ashland City, Tennessee native Plant greeted fans in attendance before he makes the second defense of his 168-pound title in a homecoming attraction, as he fights in his home state for the first time as a pro. Fighting out of his native Germany, Feigenbutz will be making his U.S. debut and hoping to spoil Plant’s homecoming in the “Music City”.

Tickets for the event, which is promoted by Sweethands Promotion, TGB Promotions and Sauerland Promotions, are on sale now and can be purchased at ticketmaster.com.

Wednesday’s workout also featured Nashville native Austin Dulay, who battles Diego Magdaleno in the FOX PBC Fight Night opener at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Also entering the ring at Wednesday’s media event were Ashland City’s Tyler Tomlin (3-0, 3 KOs) and Nashville-based Cuban Maidel Sando (9-0, 7 KOs), who compete in separate non-televised attractions Saturday night.

Here is what the main event fighters had to say Wednesday from Music City Boxing Gym in Nashville:

CALEB PLANT

“I’m excited about fighting in my hometown. This is something that I’ve wanted to do since I turned pro. To be coming back home as a world champion at Bridgestone Arena is exciting and motivating. I’m ready.

“I know that Feigenbutz has a lot of fights and a lot of knockouts. He’s coming in here to spoil my plans, but he’s going to fall short.

“I’m excited but I’m not really focused on anything but the fight. I’m happy to be here in Nashville in front of my home crowd. This is something that I pushed for, but once I got it, there’s no reason to really focus on it. I have to treat this like another day at work.

“I’ve worked very hard for this moment over many years. There was a point in time when there were no cameras in front of me. It was just me and my small team, that’s grown into a big team. Now we’re on the big stage and we’re prepared.

“My father (co-trainer Richie Plant) has always instilled in me that anything you’re not willing to do, there’s someone out there who is. I’m a fierce competitor and just like I don’t want to lose in boxing, if somebody is working harder than me, I’m losing in that area too.

“Preparation for this fight was great and I’m feeling good right now. I’m rested and relaxed. All the hard work is done. I can’t get in any better shape. At this point, you’ve put the work in or you haven’t.

“It’s not hard for me to stay hungry. People say I’m the hunted now, not the hunter. But I still feel like I’m hunting. It was just one goal to become a world champion. The other goals and aspirations that I have, those are what keeps me motivated.

“I’m ready to have a great performance Saturday in front of my hometown fans. This is going to be fireworks and you’re not going to want to miss it.”

VINCENT FEIGENBUTZ

“I will win this fight anywhere it’s fought. I’m very happy to be here in the U.S. on this big stage. I have a great team that got me here. If the American people give me a chance, they’re going to like what I bring into the ring. I don’t like to talk too much, but I like to fight.

“I was only 20-years-old when I last lost. I’m a man now and I’m much more experienced and have everything I’ll need to beat Caleb Plant.

“We’ve had great preparation for this fight like always. I’ve of course looked at Caleb’s fights and we got sparring partners to match his style. We’re going to be ready for fight night.

“You’ll see in the first round that I’m prepared. I’m going to bring something different than Caleb expects. I’m confident that I’m going to win this fight, or else I wouldn’t be here.

“We’re all very excited to be here in Nashville. My whole family loves Johnny Cash and all the music here. The people are very nice and I’m looking forward to winning a world title here.

“In the future I’d love to come back and fight in the U.S. I’m planning to put on a good performance and I know that will open up the door to the biggest fights in the sport.”

ABRAHAM BACKS FEIGENBUTZ TO BECOME WORLD CHAMPION AND TEASES STURM FIGHT

One of Germany’s most decorated boxers Arthur Abraham (47-6, 30 KOs) has tipped Vincent Feigenbutz (31-2, 28 KOs) to become Germany’s latest World Champion on February 15th when he takes on Caleb Plant (19-0, 11 KOs) for the IBF Super Middleweight World title at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

Abraham, a two-weight multiple-time World Champion has held the IBF Middleweight World title and the WBO Super Middleweight World title twice throughout his illustrious career, is confident that Feigenbutz can upset the odds and beat the Nashville native Plant in his hometown.

“It’s going to be a tough fight because Caleb Plant is one of the best super middleweights there is,” said Abraham. “However, Vincent has a great chance to win the World title. If he is brave, tough and demonstrates his punching power then he can win the fight.

“No matter what country, boxing anywhere is the same. If you are the away fighter then it’s always much more difficult to get the decision. I think knocking out Caleb Plant will make it much easier for Vincent to become victorious.

“Vincent needs to maintain his focus but also stay relaxed,” continued Abraham. “I know Vincent has trained hard, he always does. But as I mentioned he has to be brave, hard and also confident. A victory would be very important for the development of boxing in Germany and would help it to become successful again.”

‘King Arthur’ was last in action in April 2018 when he dropped Denmark’s Patrick Nielsen en route to a points victory and the 39-year-old has been linked with a return to the ring against fellow two-weight World Champion Felix Sturm. When questioned if he would consider facing his former foe, Abraham simply replied:

“If Felix Sturm wants to box me, I’m always ready to do it.”

The IBF Super Middleweight World title fight between Caleb Plant and Vincent Feigenbutz takes place at the 20,000-seater Bridgestone Arena on February 15th and all the action will be broadcast live on Fox in the US and other territories to be released shortly.

CALEB PLANT LAS VEGAS MEDIA WORKOUT QUOTES

LAS VEGAS (February 5, 2020) – Undefeated IBF Super Middleweight Champion Caleb “Sweethands” Plant held a Las Vegas media workout Wednesday and previewed his homecoming title defense against mandatory challenger Vincent Feigenbutz which takes place Saturday, February 15 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee in the FOX PBC Fight Night main event and on FOX Deportes.

The Ashland City, Tennessee native will make the second defense of his 168-pound title in a homecoming attraction as he fights in his home state for the first time as a pro.

Tickets for the event, which is promoted by Sweethands Promotion, TGB Promotions and Sauerland Promotions, are on sale now and can be purchased at ticketmaster.com.

Here is what the workout participants had to say Wednesday from City Boxing Gym in Las Vegas:

CALEB PLANT

“I feel great. Camp and sparring have been great and my strength and conditioning is spot on. I know everyone says they’re on weight, but if you check my track record, you know that if I tell you I feel good, that probably means it’s going great. We’re just finishing up camp with a bang and ready for February 15.

“Feigenbutz has a good record and a lot of knockouts. He’s been an interim champion before, and that’s more than a lot of top contenders can say. I know he’s coming to take what’s mine and I know this is the biggest moment of his life, but he’s going to fall short.

“Since I was little kid I’ve thought about wanting to bring a world title to the Bridgestone Arena. It’s the biggest venue in the city, so to be headlining there as a world champion, at this point in my career, its huge. I’m going to make the most of it.

“We’ve had some really good sparring for this fight. We brought in Ronald Ellis, who comes from a great boxing family. We’ve worked with a couple guys from Norway as well who are really strong and keep coming forward throwing punches. They’ve made sure that I’m always working in the ring.

“My offense and punching power is probably the best that its’ ever been. My defense and footwork is also just as slick as always. You saw the best Caleb Plant so far against Jose Uzcategui, and you didn’t get to see a whole lot of it, but I was a better Caleb Plant against Mike Lee. Now I’m going to show an even better version of myself on February 15.

“I’m boxing super sharply right now. This is probably the sharpest I’ve been heading into a fight. Even sharper than the Jose Uzcategui or Mike Lee fights. Everything is coming together.

“It’s exciting to be in this position. I feel like my career is right where I want it to be. I’m just taking it one fight at a time. We’re going to get this out of the way, then move on to what’s next.

“This fight is something I pushed for and something my whole team really wanted. Now that I have it, it’s not what I want to focus on. I’m focused on the fight and the task at hand on February 15. I know people are going to want to pull me in a lot of different directions, but I’m focused.

“This is a great gym with a lot of great fighters coming in and out. There are a lot of opportunities for me to get really quality sparring. It’s an exciting atmosphere here and I’m happy to have my camp here in Las Vegas.”

RICHIE PLANT, Plant’s Father & Co-Trainer

“Camp has been fantastic. The work that we’ve put in for this camp, is more than we’ve put in for any other camp. Caleb hasn’t missed a beat. There have been no hiccups and we’ve been working extra hard.

“We’re always looking into ways that we can improve. We want to continue to evolve. We’re better right now than we were last fight, and last fight we were better than the one before that. We just want to keep going. If we see a place where we might be lacking, we try to address it and get better.

“I feel like we have the best team in boxing. We all work together and we all have the same goal. We bring different experiences and expertise to the table, so we work together well. It’s really a team effort.

“Feigenbutz is a young guy who is big and strong. He’s got good reach and he’s got a lot of experience with a high knockout ratio. We’re expecting to fight a really tough opponent and we’ve prepared accordingly.”

FEIGENBUTZ FEELING CONFIDENT AHEAD OF IBF WORLD TITLE FIGHT AGAINST PLANT

Vincent Feigenbutz (31-2, 28 KOs) hosted a press conference today in his home city of Karlsruhe ahead of flying out to Nashville, Tennessee, where he will challenge Caleb Plant (19-0, 11 KOs) for the IBF Super Middleweight World title at the Bridgestone Arena on February 15th.

Known as the ‘KO King’ due to his 85% knockout ratio, Feigenbutz has worked himself into a mandatory position with the IBF following a run of ten consecutive victories – nine of which came within the distance.

The 24-year-old German previously held the WBA World Super Middleweight title having stopped Mauricio Reynoso in the third round at the Gerry Weber Stadium in 2015. Feigenbutz successfully defended the title with a unanimous decision victory over Giovanni De Carolis, before losing a rematch the following year.

Feigenbutz, who hopes to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Max Schmeling by becoming only the second German boxer to win a World title in America, informed the gathered media that Caleb Plant can expect a tough night on February 15th.

“I am pleased that we are so close to the fight now,” said Feigenbutz. “I’m feeling fantastic and very well prepared. Caleb Plant is a tough opponent, but I’m not going to give him anything.

“I will give everything I have and fight until the last second! I want to thank my whole team and Team Sauerland for making this dream a reality for me!”

Dr. Martin Lenz, the mayor of Karlsruhe, was also in attendance at the press conference and expressed the city’s pride and support of Feigenbutz.

“It is a great honour for the city of Karlsruhe that Vincent will represent us in the USA,” said Lenz. “We are very proud of him regardless of this fight! We would also like to thank his promoter Team Sauerland and manager Rainer Gottwald for bringing the city of Karlsruhe to this big stage.

“It’s remarkable that with Regina Halmich, Sven Ottke and now Vincent Feigenbutz we produce such great boxers. The city of Karlsruhe will have our fingers crossed for Vince!”

Feigenbutz’s promoter Nisse Sauerland is confident Germany will have a new World Champion come February 15th.

“We are delighted to make this fight happen and reward Vince’s hard work with the opportunity of becoming a two-time World Champion,” said Sauerland. “This is a great opportunity for Vincent and also for German boxing – don’t miss Vincent make history on February 15th”.

The World title fight takes place at the 20,000-seater Bridgestone Arena and all the action will be broadcast live on Fox in the US and other territories to be released shortly.

Former World Champions Rau’shee Warren & Caleb Truax Compete in Separate Attractions Highlighting Undercard Lineup Saturday, February 15 from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 21, 2020) – Former bantamweight world champion Rau’shee Warren will battle Mexico’s Gilberto Mendoza in a 10-round attraction, while former super middleweight champion Caleb “Golden” Truax takes on Ghana’s Ernest Amuzu in a 10-round showdown, highlighting the non-televised undercard lineup on Saturday, February 15 from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

The event is headlined by undefeated IBF Super Middleweight World Champion Caleb “Sweethands” Plant making a homecoming world title defense against mandatory challenger Vincent Feigenbutz in the FOX PBC Fight Night main event and on FOX Deportes. Coverage begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT and features welterweight contenders Bryant Perrella and Abel Ramos battling in the co-main event, plus lightweight contender and Nashville native Austin Dulay facing former title challenger Diego Magdaleno in the televised opener.

Tickets for the event, which is promoted by Sweethands Promotion, TGB Promotions and Sauerland Promotions, are on sale now and can be purchased at ticketmaster.com.

The undercard will also see Chicago’s Vernon Brown (12-1-1, 8 KOs) battling Augusta, Georgia’s Justin DeLoach (18-4, 9 KOs) in an eight-round super welterweight fight, plus unbeaten Cuban Maidel Sando (9-0, 7 KOs), who now lives in Nashville, taking on Mexico’s Sergio Gonzalez (6-7-1, 2 KOs) in a six-round super middleweight attraction.

Rounding out the lineup is unbeaten Ashland City, Tennessee native Tyler Tomlin in a lightweight fight, and the pro debut of Cincinnati’s Duke Reagan in a four-round super featherweight contest against North Carolina’s Da’jour Burney.

Warren (16-3, 4 KOs) will return to action for the first time since a close decision loss in a world title fight against unbeaten champion Nordine Oubaali in January 2019. A southpaw from Cincinnati, Ohio, Warren won the WBA Bantamweight World Championship with a majority decision over Juan Carlos Payano in 2016 and lost the title the next year to Zhanat Zhakiyanov by split-decision. The 32-year-old became the first three-time Olympic boxer from the U.S. when he qualified for consecutive Olympic teams in 2004, 2008 and 2012. He will be opposed by the 30-year-old Mendoza (15-7-3, 7 KOs), who is from Mexicali, Mexico and now lives in Modesto, California. Mendoza has won eight of his last 10 fights, including a draw in his last fight against Oscar Vasquez in October 2019.

A native of Osseo, Minnesota, Truax (30-4-2, 19 KOs) will step back into the ring after being forced to withdraw from a scheduled title eliminator against Peter Quillin in August 2019. The 30-year-old had previously faced Quillin in April in a fight that was ruled a no contest because of a cut he suffered due to an accidental head butt. Truax became world champion in 2017 when he went to the U.K. and upset James DeGale to capture the IBF 168-pound crown. Truax lost a narrow decision in the rematch to DeGale but bounced back to stop Fabiano Soares in August 2018. He will take on the Hohoe, Ghana native Amuzu (25-5, 22 KOs), who now fights out of Prichard, Alabama. Amuzu will look to rebound from a November 2019 defeat against Ievgen Khytrov.

CALEB PLANT NASHVILLE PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 15, 2020) – Undefeated IBF Super Middleweight World Champion Caleb “Sweethands” Plants previewed his homecoming world title defense at a press conference in Nashville Wednesday, as he prepares to take on mandatory challenger Vincent Feigenbutz Saturday, February 15 in the FOXPBC Fight Night main event and on FOX Deportes from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

The press conference also featured welterweight contender Bryant Perrella, who takes on Abel Ramos in the co-main event, plus lightweight contender and Nashville native Austin Dulay, who battles former title challenger Diego Magdaleno in the televised opener at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

Tickets for the event, which is promoted by Sweethands Promotion, TGB Promotions and Sauerland Promotions, are on sale now and can be purchased at ticketmaster.com.

Ashland, Tennessee’s Plant will bring world championship boxing back to Nashville and fight for the first time as a professional in his home state. Here is what the press conference participants had to say Wednesday at Bridgestone Arena:

CALEB PLANT

“It’s great to be back in my hometown and my home city. I’m even more excited to be bringing home a world title and to defend it February 15 at Bridgestone Arena. It’s been a dream of mine since as long as I could remember. Since I was a little kid.

“I’m working harder than ever to make sure that I have my hand raised on February 15. I’m looking to do it in spectacular fashion, before the 12th round. This fight is going to end in a knockout on my behalf. I want everyone who’s going to be in the building and tuned in to know that this world title is staying right here in Tennessee.

“My dad and I have been going at this for 18 years straight, non-stop. Having this fight has been a dream that I’ve sacrificed a lot for. It’s a dream that on February 15, it won’t be spoiled.

“It was a goal to become world champion, but it wasn’t the only goal. I think people tend to forget I only have 19 fights. I feel like I just made it to the base of the mountain. Some people when they become champion, they feel like they become the hunted, but that’s not the case with me. I’m still hungry. If you’re in my way, I suggest you get out of it. Because I won’t miss you.

“I’ve heard Feigenbutz is strong and physical and he thinks he’s going to come in and knock me out. Mike Lee thought he was going to knock me out and Jose Uzcategui said he was going to knock me out, but how’d that go for them?

“At the end of the day, boxing is hit and do not get hit. I have plenty of skills to spare. On February 15, I’m not playing with this guy.

“All of these guys think they’re going to walk me down and throw more punches than me. But I throw more and land more punches than them. If he thinks he’s going to come in here and spoil my plans, I promise you that he’s got another thing coming.”

BRYANT PERRELLA

“I’m grateful to be here today and blessed to have the opportunity to showcase who I am as a fighter. I’m a fighter who’s built on quality over quantity. Nothing has been given to me. I’ve faced nothing but excellent opposition to this point.

“I eat, sleep and breathe boxing. I’m ready for this. I’m a fast, strong and tall fighter, with a high boxing IQ. February 15 I’m coming to dominate. Operation Abel will be unable.

“I have Ramos outmatched at every category and I’m going to dominate. I’m starting hit my stride as a fighter. Everything is coming together mentally and I have an amazing team working with me now. We’re just grinding every day and putting it all together to work towards our ultimate goal.”

AUSTIN DULAY

“I’m really thankful to my whole team for making this fight happen and especially to Caleb for paving the way for a fight in Nashville. We’ve been training really hard and we’re training even harder for this fight to put on a show in my hometown.

I know my opponent is going to come ready, we know what he’s coming to do. I’m excited for it. I’m going to be ready for anything he brings.

“I can’t wait for this fight, put on a great performance and come back to Nashville again in the future for more big fights.”

JUSTIN GAMBER, Plant’s Co-Trainer

“We are thrilled to come back to Nashville for this fight. It’s going to be Caleb’s first pro fight in Nashville, and from the moment that we heard first about this, we’ve been really excited.

“He’s had an incredible training camp as always. He’s been looking really sharp. Expect an explosive, powerful and better version of ‘Sweethands’ than you’ve seen yet. Caleb is always improving and always getting better. He’s taking it to another level.

“I’ve seen Caleb fight as an amateur in Nashville, but to be a part of him doing it in the pros, it’s so special for me. Just know that he’s going to put on a show. Skills pay the bills and he’s got all the skills.”

RICHIE PLANT, Plant’s Father & Co-Trainer

“We’re so glad to be here in this position. As soon as we heard that this was going to be a reality, we were just overjoyed.

“We started here about 18 years ago in boxing. Over the years we’ve grown, and now we have this amazing boxing team, one that I feel is the best in boxing. We’re just getting started. We’re excited to put on a show for our hometown and we’ll see everyone here on February 15.”

Lightweight Contender & Nashville Native Austin Dulay Takes on Former Title Challenger Diego Magdaleno in FOX PBC Fight Night Action & on FOX Deportes Saturday, February 15 from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 13, 2020) – Lightweight contender and Nashville native Austin Dulay will fight in front of his hometown crowd when he takes on former title challenger Diego Magdaleno in a 10-round fight that opens FOX PBC Fight Night action and on FOX Deportes Saturday, February 15 from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

FOX PBC Fight Night begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT and is headlined by IBF Super Middleweight Champion Caleb “Sweethands” Plant defending his title in a homecoming bout against mandatory challenger Vincent Feigenbutz. Plus, welterweight contenders Bryant “Goodfella” Perrella and Abel Ramos battle in the 10-round co-feature.

Tickets for the event, which is promoted by Sweethands Promotion, TGB Promotions and Sauerland Promotions, are on sale now and can be purchased at ticketmaster.com.

Nashville’s Dulay (13-1, 10 KOs) has won back-to-back fights by stoppage since his lone pro defeat to top contender Chris Colbert in April 2018. The 24-year-old has fought professionally since 2015 and won his first 11 fights. He most recently scored a TKO victory over Yardley Armenta Cruz in February of last year, and his last time in the ring saw him stop Justin Pauldo in a fight that was later changed to a no contest. He will return to fight in Nashville for the first time since a 2017 victory.

The 33-year-old Magdaleno (31-3, 13 KOs) has twice challenged for a world title and will look for a signature victory on February 15 to get closer to another chance at the belt. The Las Vegas native previously dropped title fights against Roman Martinez and Terry Flanagan. Magdaleno won three straight fights between 2016 and 2018, including a triumph over Art Hovhannisyan, and most recently lost to lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez in February 2019.

Undefeated IBF Super Middleweight Champion Caleb Plant Defends Title in Homecoming Fight Against Mandatory Challenger Vincent Feigenbutz Headlining FOX PBC Fight Night & on FOX Deportes Saturday, February 15 from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (December 23, 2019) – IBF Super Middleweight Champion Caleb “Sweethands” Plant will defend his title in a homecoming bout against mandatory challenger Vincent Feigenbutz live in primetime in the FOX PBC Fight Night main event and on FOX Deportes Saturday, February 15 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

The broadcast will begin at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT and feature a clash between welterweight contenders as Bryant “Goodfella” Perrella and Abel Ramos battle in the 10-round co-feature.

Tickets for the event, which is promoted by Sweethands Promotion, TGB Promotions and Sauerland Promotions, are on sale today at 5 p.m. CT and can be purchased at ticketmaster.com.

“We’re thrilled that championship boxing is back in Nashville with their homegrown world champion Caleb ‘Sweethands’ Plant defending his super middleweight title on February 15,” said Tom Brown, President of TGB Promotions. “Caleb Plant has made a name for himself as one of the sport’s elite fighters and will look to continue solidify his place in the stacked 168-pound division. He’ll be facing a hard-hitting fighter in Germany’s Vincent Feigenbutz, who is sure to apply the pressure and upset Plant in his hometown. Expect an all action main event live on FOX from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.”

This will be the first time that Plant (19-0, 11 KOs), who was born in Ashland, Tennessee outside of Nashville, will be fighting in his hometown as a pro. He will be making the second defense of the title that he won with a unanimous decision victory over Venezuelan slugger Jose Uzcategui in January. His first title defense saw him dominate and stop then unbeaten Mike Lee in July on FOX.

To win the title, Plant turned the tables on the hard-hitting Uzcategui in their championship fight on FS1. Going into the match the consensus was that Uzcategui was the harder puncher and that Plant would have to withstand his power to walk away with the belt. It was the 27-year-old Plant however, who stunned Uzcategui by dropping him to the canvas twice on the way to a convincing unanimous decision. It was an emotional night for Plant, who now lives and trains in Las Vegas. He had dedicated his championship victory to the memory of his late daughter Alia, who suffered from a rare disorder that caused seizures.

“I’m very excited to bring my world title home to Nashville in my second title defense,” said Plant. “It’ll be in front of all of my family and friends and I plan to put on a spectacular performance. Vincent Feigenbutz is a very tough, rugged European fighter. He’s got a big knockout ratio, but this is my backyard and I will not let any man come in here and rain on my parade. On February 15, I’m representing my hometown and my home city with pride. I believe this will be the first of many fights that we hold at The Bridgestone in Nashville. This fight isn’t going 12-rounds. Nashville, stand up!”

The 24-year-old Feigenbutz (31-2, 28 KOs) is known as “The KO King” and he has been able to live up to that name with a 90% knockout ratio. The German slugger from Karlsruhe, Baden-Wurttemberg will be fighting in the United States for the first time on February 15. He became the youngest German champion ever when he defeated Giovanni de Carolis for the Interim WBA Super Middleweight title at the age of 20 in 2015. He lost the world title rematch with De Carolis, but recovered to win 10 straight since the loss – including nine via stoppage. He is coming in off of an eighth round TKO of previously undefeated over César Núñez in August.

“It has always been my goal to have a big fight like this in the U.S.,” said Feigenbutz. “I am not going there to lose. I am coming over to become only the second German boxer, after the legendary Max Schmeling, to win the world title in the U.S. and bring the belt back home to Germany. I hope everyone in my home country will have my back and support me on this journey. For me, Plant is the strongest of all super middleweight world champions. We are the underdog, but we won’t make it as easy for Caleb, like in his last fight. We know how difficult a fight on American soil is, so there is only one strategy: Get the knockout!”

The 30-year-old Perrella (17-2, 14 KOs) scored a decision victory over Breidis Prescott and most recently a stoppage of Domonique Dolton in his 2019 campaign, bouncing back from a majority decision loss to former champion Luis Collazo in 2018. Fighting out of Fort Myers, Florida, Perella turned pro in 2012 after an impressive amateur career that included victories over Regis Prograis, Miguel Cruz and Sammy Vásquez. Perrella suffered a 2016 loss to top welterweight Yordenis Ugás that was sandwiched by victories over Alex Martin and then unbeaten David Grayton.

“I’m excited to have the opportunity to showcase my talent,” said Perrella. “I have a quality opponent in front of me in Abel Ramos and I’m looking to make a statement on February 15. I’m going to show everyone once again that I’m a serious threat to anyone in the welterweight division.

Fighting out of Casa Grande, Arizona, Ramos (25-3-2, 19 KOs) picked up two victories in 2019, most recently stopping Jimmy Williams in July after defeating veteran contender Francisco Santana on FOX in March. The 28-year-old previously challenged former champions Regis Prograis and Ivan Baranchyk while campaigning at 140-pounds. He brings a seven-fight winning streak into February 15 since a close decision loss in 2018 to contender Jamal James.

“I can’t wait to start my year off fight a great fight on FOX,” said Ramos. “I know that I have a tough opponent across from me on February 15. I’m here to give a performance that makes me standout in this division. I know that after this fight, everyone will see I’m one of the best welterweights and that I’m going to have a huge 2020.”

The previously unbeaten Cesar Nunez climbed off the canvas twice in the eighth round before the referee waved off proceedings following yet another onslaught from Vincent Feigenbutz. Having captured the IBO International belt, Feigenbutz moves closer towards a world title shot against Eubank Jr.

“I implemented my tactics well, kept him at distance, varied my punches and found space,” said Feigenbutz. “I want to go to the top and take anyone who comes in my way. I’m not backing down from anyone.”

Vincent’s desire for a world title shot was echoed by his promoter Nisse Sauerland. “Vincent boxed really well, it was another entertaining and exciting performance. He took care of his job and he’s ready for big, big fights.”

“I’M GOING TO KNOCK YOU OUT” VINCENT FEIGENBUTZ WARNS NUNEZ

Vincent Feigenbutz (30-2, 27 KOs) came face-to-face with his opponent Cesar Nunez (16-0-1, 8 KOs) for the first time today at the official press conference ahead of their IBO International title fight on Saturday 17 August in Ludwigshafen, Germany.

Feigenbutz, known as ‘The KO King’ due to his 84% knockout rate, won the WBA Super Middleweight World title in 2015 and is hoping that winning the IBO International title will help him force a fight with Chris Eubank Jr.

Both fighters were in high spirits at the Best Western Leoso Hotel as they met in front of the assembled media ahead of Saturday’s match up.

“Preparing for the fight in my home country and boxing close to my hometown is great,” said Karlsruhe native Feigenbutz. “I can’t wait to experience the atmosphere in the arena and I will do everything I can to get the knockout.”

The unbeaten Spaniard Cesar Nunez was equally confident ahead of his first international fight “This is the biggest fight of my career. I have a plan for each round and I will do everything I can to beat Vincent!”

Inigo Herbosa, manager of Cesar Nunez, echoed his fighter’s confidence informing the media “Cesar is perfectly prepared and will take his chance. It’s his most difficult fight so far as Vincent is clearly one of the best in the world.”

“Cesar is at a point in his career where he wants to box the best and prove himself abroad. The risk is great, but the reward is greater.”

“Vincent’s time is now, he’s ready to take the next step on his ‘Road to the Top’ and very soon he will be a World Champion once again,” said Feigenbutz’s promoter Nisse Sauerland.”

“We also have two of our newest signings from Norway in Katharina Thanderz (11-0, 2 KOs) and Hadi Srour (3-0, 2 KOs) making their Team Sauerland debuts and they are both always in exciting fights.”

“As well as a fantastic 50/50 fight between Ahmad Ali (14-0-1, 10 KOs) and Arman Torosyan (19-6-1, 16 KOs), we can’t wait to see ‘Die Zukunft’ 17-year-old Sophie Alisch (3-0, 1 KO) back in action. Sophie is looking to produce another dazzling performance and she’s already talking about world titles.”

All the action from the Friedrich-Ebert-Halle is available to watch live on Sport1 in Germany and Viasport+ and Viaplay in Norway. Tickets are available online via www.eventim.de or by calling +49 01806-570440.

THANDERZ AND SROUR RETURN TO ACTION ON AUGUST 17

Katharina Thanderz (11-0, 2 KOs) and Hadi Srour (3-0, 2 KOs) return to action on August 17 on the undercard of Vincent Feigenbutz’s super middleweight clash with Cesar Nunez at the Friedrich-Ebert-Halle in Ludwigshafen, Germany.

The rising Norwegian stars will be fighting for the first time since signing promotional contracts with Team Sauerland earlier this year following impressive performances at the SØR Amfi in Arendal on March 3.

Thanderz, the former European and WBC International Champion, claimed a majority decision win over the previously undefeated Rachel Ball in Arendal. Overcoming a broken hand in the fourth-round to secure her eleventh victory.

“I felt really good in that fight,” reflects Thanderz. “I felt like I was in control of the fight, and if it wasn’t for the fact that I broke my strongest hand in the middle round, I actually thought I could have finished the fight before the eight rounds.

“I had to have an operation on my hand after the fight. They had to introduce a titanium plate with six screws in order get the bone healed. The doctors said that this was the most secure method to get me back to the ring as fast as possible, and avoiding a possible new injury in the future.”

Now fully recovered, Thanderz is looking forward to getting back in the ring to test her skills against Monica Gentili (6-10, 1 KO), the tough Italian, who has previously gone the distance with current WBO Super Featherweight Champion Ewa Brodnicka and former WBC Lightweight Champion Delfine Persoon, and has shared the ring with current Undisputed Lightweight Champion Katie Taylor.

“I know that Monica Gentili is a brave fighter. She has met the best boxers in our weight division, and she’s not afraid to take challenges,” said Thanderz, ahead of their eight-round lightweight bout.

“She’s only lost once by KO and once by TKO, so she’s physically tough and strong. Her style is a bit different depending on who she meets, but in general I would say she’s the type of fighter who likes to come forward, and as I mentioned before, someone not afraid to take some punches. I’m expecting a hard fight, but I also feel confident in making a great performance against her.”

Srour returns to the professional realm having competed at the European Amateur Championships in Belarus in June, and will be hoping to follow up on his one sided points win over Zoltan Szabo at the SØR Amfi in March as he meets Evgenii Vazem (8-7, 3 KOs) in a six-round super lightweight contest.

“I was very pleased with my performance against Szabo,” says Srour. “It was a big step up for me, and still I dominated and he barely survived in the fourth. I know what I should do now to get the stoppage in my next fight.

“The only thing I have in my head is to put on a performance and show the people I am a man for the future. We are going to deliver the whole package. It is going to be entertainment and we are going for the KO, always.”

“Katharina and Hadi are two of the most exciting talents in Scandinavian boxing and will be great additions to an already action-packed show in Ludwigshafen,” said promoter Nisse Sauerland. “Katharina is closing in on a World title challenge and can move another step closer with a win over Gentili, while Hadi will want to entertain as he looks to build his name in the professional ranks.”

FEIGENBUTZ CONTINUES ROAD TO THE TOP AGAINST NUNEZ ON AUGUST 17

On August 17, German knockout specialist Vincent Feigenbutz (30-2, 27 KOs) will take the next step on his ‘Road to the Top’ against unbeaten Spaniard Cesar Nunez (16-0-1, 8 KOs) at the Friedrich-Ebert-Halle in Ludwigshafen, Germany.

“Vincent Feigenbutz is a local hero in Ludwigshafen and over the last few years he has established himself as one of Europe’s most dangerous boxers,” said Feigenbutz’s promoter Nisse Sauerland. “The Friedrich-Ebert-Halle is a venue we love coming to and I know the arena will be electric once again on August 17!”

“Cesar Nunez is undefeated so far, but I’ll change that and will do my best to end the fight early. Ludwigshafen can look forward to a great boxing night,” said Feigenbutz. “Now it’s about preparing myself the best way I can together with my team. It’s going to be a hard job, but I’m really looking forward to getting back in the ring on August 17!”

Feigenbutz was last in action at the Ufgauhalle in Karlsruhe headlining against the brave Przemyslaw Opalach on January 26, where he ended the fight with a vicious assault in the fifth-round and was declared winner by TKO.

Following yet another impressive performance and his twenty-seventh stoppage victory, Feigenbutz is moving ever closer on his quest for a World title, currently sitting #3 with the IBF, #7 with the WBO and #5 with the WBA.

“We are excited for Vincent to continue his ‘Road to the Top’ and become a World Champion once again,” said Sauerland. “He’s one of the heaviest hitters in the super middleweight division and we look forward to him taking over the World stage in spectacular fashion.”

Feigenbutz’s opponent is the aggressive come-forward Cesar Nunez who hails from Pamplona, Spain. “On paper, Vincent is an excellent and experienced boxer and maybe my strongest opponent so far,” said Nunez. “However, I do not really care about fight records. I want to box the best, so I was immediately on fire for this one. I can’t wait to give the fans in Germany a great show!”

Tickets are on sale now and available online via www.eventim.de or by calling +49 01806-570440. Sport1 will broadcast the event live in Germany.

FEIGENBUTZ TARGETS WORLD HONOURS AFTER TKO WIN

Vincent Feigenbutz (30-2, 27 KOs) celebrated his 30th career win on Saturday night as the German talent targets World honours following a fifth-round TKO victory over Przemyslaw Opalach (27-3, 22 KOs).

In his hometown of Karlsruhe, in front of a sold out crowd at the Ufgauhalle, Feigenbutz produced a mature performance that belied his 23 years.

Feigenbutz dominated from the opening bell with a measured yet powerful display, which saw referee Joerg Milke wave off proceedings in the fifth round following another vicious onslaught from the young German.

With 48 knockouts between them, it was unlikely that the fight, billed as ‘The Battle of Karlsruhe, would go the distance, and while Feigenbutz improved his impressive 84% knockout ratio, Opalach suffered his first knockout defeat.

With 2019 getting off to the best possible start, Feigenbutz plans to continue his impressive rise up the super middleweight ranks as he sets his sights firmly on World glory. “My goal is to fight for World titles,” said Feigenbutz. “I want to test myself against the best boxers in the world, and I believe I am ready!”

“That was another impressive performance from Vince,” said promoter Nisse Sauerland. “He showed his maturity, and proved once again, why he is one of the most fearsome punchers in the division. There are a lot of exciting fights out there for him, and as he showed tonight, he would be a serious test for any of the big names in the division. It’s now our job to make those fights happen!”

On the undercard, Araik Marutjan produced the KO of the night as he caught his resilient opponent Islam Teffahi in the final round with a devastating looping right hand that had Teffahi asleep before he hit the canvas. The impressive victory saw the Ulli Wegner trained fighter and 2016 Olympian move to 8-0.
